Chapter 76: Castle of the Undefeated

"Impossible!!"

"There is no way he could have defeated my highest work, and nothing was left of her?"

"That human! His last move, ahhh.... I will kill him!!"

"_-_"

Aegon had left the city center where all the large manors were and was heading straight to the castle. He had climbed a hill which was not so high.

As he reached, he was faced with a giant gate of two towering, statues standing guard on either side.

These stone sentinels, carved with fierce horned helmets and flowing beards, gripped long spears as if frozen in a slumber.

Above the entrance, a massive circular seal was etched into the stone, topped by a grim skull relief that seemed to stare down at anyone who dared to approach.

The pathway leading up was a series of wide stone steps, flanked by braziers that flickered with orange flame, casting long, dance shadows against the cold mist.

"Hmph,"

Seeing the gate that stood to block his way, Aegon was unfazed. There was nothing like a good challenge and this was merely a small fry that thought it was dominating.

At this point, he moved the sword to his left hand, raised his now empty right hand, then a ball of energy appeared forming at the tip of his index and middle fingers.

Aegon stretched out his hand, this fingered pointing towards the gate, then he fired. The ball of energy was shot, flying to the gate and upon impact destroyed the gate.

The debris and dust from the shot cleared and the path for him to pass was clear and smooth.

"Now that’s more like it."

He walked into the castle grounds and was graced by several monsters. They were all lined up like soldiers in a battle.

Small monsters were at the front, the average size, at the middle, and finally the large monster at the back.

All of the monsters were carrying certain weapons in their hands, their teeth grunting in excitement.

Most of the higher monsters began laughing as they saw Aegon walk inside the castle gates.

They saw a small and fragile human, and compared to their size, it was as if they didn’t need this amount of troops.

Aegon stood before the monsters, looking at all of them one after the other and saw them as nothing but mere cannon fodder.

"I don’t have time to waste anymore."

He raised his right finger arm and pointed both his index and middle fingers forward.

The monsters saw this and felt frightened for a moment. But after they saw that nothing happened, they relaxed.

They began to look amongst themselves, puzzled at what the human was trying to do.

One of them, who was a goblin holding a wooden bat and only wearing a torn short and no top, looked above, thinking Aegon was pointing at something.

And while did this, another goblin tapped the back of his head, pointing at Aegon and telling it to focus.

Of course, Aegon didn’t understand the language they spoke, but from the gestures and actions it was clear to make out what was going on.

Eventually, the confusion amongst the monster stopped and they all looked at Aegon as a mad human.

A human who was carrying a long sword and not using it, but instead pointing at them with two fingers like a mac person.

Meanwhile, Aegon, while his right hand was stretched, closed his left eye.

He bent his head to the right, his right eye using the thumb that was up as an aiming tool, for the gun-like stretch he had built with his fingers.

At that moment, a huge monster at the back roared and all the other monsters at the front ran towards Aegon.

They were screaming and shouting, holding their weapons high in the air for a hope of making an impact.

However, at that exact moment, a big bright light appeared which caught the attention of the monsters.

Most of them stopped after they had seen where it was coming from.

Their gaze went to Aegon’s fingers which now had a ball forming at it, the ball swirling like a vortex of purple energy.

Most of the monsters looked amazed by the beautiful sight of the ball. These were the senseless ones, who had already stopped.

However, at the back, the monster who hadn’t moved were the large monsters and the ones with a bit of common sense.

They saw the glow from the distance and felt it was dangerous to them. There were about ten of these monsters, and all these eyes were widened.

Four had their hands on their head in shock, after they had dropped their weapons on the ground.

Another four had their mouths wide open, staring at the dazzling dark light that continued to grow.

The remaining two monsters were the ones who had more sense than the rest as they knew this was capable of killing them.

Knowing this, they cried out, calling all the other monsters to retreat. Both the small and medium size.

And they all obeyed.

They monsters had somehow communicated with all of them and told them that their lives were in danger if they stayed and got caught in that swirling ball.

The other eight large monsters, which were orcs, regained their senses and cried out the same way as the other two had done. 𝕗𝐫𝚎𝗲𝘄𝐞𝕓𝐧𝕠𝘃𝕖𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝚖

This was them repeating the same thing and warning the other to retreat for their lives were endangered.

Hearing this, most of the monsters who were running before stopped, turned around, and started running back to where they came from,

even trying to get into a chamber at the outer part of the castle. While the ones who were standing and taken by the amazing view, didn’t run.

This was because they were lost in their imagination.

Aegon, seeing majority of the monster cowering in fear uttered;

"I will not let you!"

In that moment, he released the skill [Spatial Cannon Blast], firing it directly into the middle of the entire monster’s troop.

The monsters, while running, turned this head back to see as the ball was speeding towards them.

Most of them had tears in this eyes, others shouting, even the large monster panicking, which was because they knew their fate had been set

They were far from the entrance of the middle castle to where the chamber they could go and hide was, yet, even though they increased their speed, it was futile.

The swirling ball landed at the back of a certain small goblin as it was running and in that moment, the blast exploded.

It burned that goblin into ashes, but didn’t stop there. The blast exploded covering about twenty-five meters radius, obliterating every monster in the entire area into nothing but ashes.

The blast did not stop as it went all the way to a certain part of the castle, destroying the chamber that was near to the impact.

After this occurred and all the monsters turned into ashes, nothing of them left except ashes, Aegon began hearing a strange sound.

"What?"

He placed his hand down, while trying to figure out where the sounds were coming from.

Moving forward, the sound became clear and he could recognize it as shouting.

"Voices? Humans voices?"

The voices were shouting and crying as if they were being tortured or trying to announce their presence.

And when Aegon heard this, he dashed into the outer part of the main castle, following the human voices crying for help.
