Chapter 87: Guild Master of Integrity

Xemburg City, Silvery Rock Park, Integrity Building.

"And you are sure about this?"

In a room colored in white and green, at the head of the room, a man with white beard was sitting on a chair at the back of a wooden table.

He had orange eyes, his physique built like he had been maintaining a perfect fit of his body all his life.

He was wearing a white t-shirt with a black tie around his neck, not tied. He had a glass on his face, his hair jet-black, dazzling under the light in the room.

Standing at the front of him were two individuals, a male and a female, both in their attention stance, with their hands behind their back.

The female had red hair, a chain wrapped around her, and was looking at the man seated with an expression of concern and at the same time unfazed.

While the male beside her, also had red hair but no expression of worry on his face. The only expression he had was the certainty in his eyes.

"Yes, we are sure," the man standing with red hair uttered. "It is just as Nyra said, and I also saw it with my eyes the moment I arrived."

The male with the red hair was Crimson Lion, a member of the same Guild as Nyra, the Integrity Guild.

They are one of the most formidable Guilds in the entire awakeners association, and the man sitting in front of them was their guild master.

The guild master turned his head to Nyra and uttered, "And you, Nyra? Are you sure about this?"

Nyra nodded.

The guild master dropped the tablet which he was holding on the desk, leaned back on the chair, and using his left hand, cleaned his face.

"Oh my," he uttered, "If that’s the case, then I would need to talk to other guild masters, and also need to see the association chairman. This is going to be more stressful than I thought."

He leaned forward, his fingers clasped together, gaze directed at Crimson Lion, then at Nyra.

Now, looking at Nyra, he asked, "But before that, I want to hear your own side of the story. Your report, from when you and the others were unable to come back after the mission didn’t go well."

Crimson Lion turned his neck, facing Nyra as she got ready to speak, the guild master’s gaze, also on her.

However, she didn’t feel pressured as this was the place she felt more at home than anywhere else.

The Integrity Guild was like the home of all its members, and there were over two hundred awakeners in it.

With the straight and unfazed expression on her face, she began to give her report.

Nyra and Crimson Lion are in the same guild and since after what had happened inside the abyss, concerning all the matter with the castle of the undefeated, Aegon, the administrator, and Reynold, they had given a report of the story to their guild master.

Crimson Lion had told him about what he had heard from Aegon, when he called Reynold’s name, and Nyra had confirmed that he was actually there with them, before the arrival of all the awakeners.

Hearing them say this had caused a stir in the guild master’s heart knowing that it was a delicate topic, one that needed to be discussed by other guild masters and even the association chairman.

However, since he wasn’t supposed to actually send his own members into the Abyss before the actual go ahead from the association, the members being Nyra’s party, he needed her to explain herself so he could have a full story to tell in the meeting with the other guild masters and the association master.

Crimson Lion was exempted from this because at the time he was entering the Abyss, the association had already declared it as a mission.

That was the gathering of all the awakeners after the relic from the association vault was stolen by a couple individuals cloaked in black.

Nyra began to speak on what had happened from the time they entered the Abyss after collecting orders from the guild master to find their missing peers.

Then afterwards she went and explained how they got caught up in the spiral challenge, what had happened, how it had gone, how many people that died from the number which were transported there.

Then she went onwards to explain what the challenge was, how they were supposed to clear it and the consequences if they failed, explaining that all the instructions came from a strange voice they could only hear and not see who was talking.

"Voice? What voice?" The guild master asked, looking puzzled and more intrigued. "A voice spoke to you in the abyss and you don’t know who it was?"

Nyra nodded, "It didn’t just speak to me, Sir. It spoke to everyone all at the same time. It was broadcasting its voice for everyone to hear. That or the voice was just so loud."

The guild master turned his gaze to Crimson Lion, Crimson Lion shaking his head, showing he too was perplexed.

The guild master turned back to Nyra, "And did this voice say another thing, like give information of who they were and why they were doing this, any information to reveal their identity?"

Nyra shook her head, "It didn’t. Not that I know of, that is. The only thing it mostly spoke about was about the challenge, and also it displayed a hologram-like screen of the spiral which we were on for everyone to see, and also how the challenge was supposed to work "

Hearing this one, the guild master leaned his back again on the chair. He placed his right hand on the forefront of his collar, where he had buttoned up to the height.

He unclasped the bottom, adjusting the top of his shirt as if feeling heat when there wasn’t actually any heat.

The room was chill with the air conditioner blowing, the temperature so cold that it was impossible for heat to flow through.

However, this heat that the guild master was feeling wasn’t for the physical body. It was his mental health that was feeling it.

"So they have technology then? Because that’s the only way a hologram-like screen can appear in the abyss.Except their magic power is too much and their intelligence is advanced, hm?"

Both Nyra and Crimson Lion shook their heads in response to the same as him.

’A voice, a voice in the abyss, never heard of such a thing happening. Are the monsters getting smarter? The only ones that could perform this kind of actions are the ones with the highest intelligence, the Grand Monsters. And if so, then are they evolving? Or is there a much larger force playing a role here?’

The guild master feeling even more stressed about this couldn’t get a proper answer. Every single part of the report Nyra gives is important and to be treated as a big deal.

But how many big deals can there be in a single report? If everything is treated as a big deal, which one would be the biggest deal amongst all of them?

"Sigh!" The guild master knew he had to hear everything before he could decide, so he said to Nyra,

"Continue...."
