Chapter 441 - 434: Faye Jennings Is the One Truly Looking Out for Her
Sandra paused for a moment but continued, "Then, she said she would pick a good role for me in another project and that she’d already gotten President Quinn’s approval."
Faye Jennings, however, let out a cold snort. "Clara Grant. She sure is impatient, isn’t she?"
"Impatient for what?" Sandra didn’t quite understand what she meant.
Faye Jennings glanced at her and said, "Impatient to flex her power, of course. Her relationship with President Quinn was just announced, and she’s already rushing over to flaunt her new status and privileges in your face. When she says she’ll pick a role for you, isn’t that just her way of proving how powerful she is?
"And let’s not even get into whether she, as just his girlfriend, even has the right to cast actors. Even if she eventually becomes the president’s wife and gets that authority, does she really need to be so arrogant and condescending about it, like she’s handing out charity?"
At this, she glanced around, leaned closer to Sandra, and whispered, "Just now, I overheard her telling Holly Summers that when she saw you, she was going to show off and make sure you knew you could never beat her."
The hesitation on Sandra’s face vanished. She gritted her teeth and asked, "Did she really say that?"
Before Faye Jennings had said all this, Sandra hadn’t thought anything was wrong. But now, hearing her words, the more Sandra replayed the conversation, the more she felt that everything Clara had said and done was a form of charity, a way to humiliate her.
’Clara Grant... To think I actually believed she was extending an olive branch, trying to bury the hatchet. I can’t believe she was just flexing her power to humiliate me!’
’And offering to pick a good role for me? Does she think I’m some dog begging for scraps?’
Faye Jennings raised an eyebrow and nodded. "Would I lie to you?"
After a pause, she continued in a joking tone, "We should get going. Being so close to the props area gives me an uneasy feeling. You know, there’s a gun in there. If something went wrong, whoever touched or came near it before filming would be the prime suspect."
An unnatural expression flickered across Sandra’s face. She gave a dry laugh. "Is that so?"
"Of course. Come on, let’s run our lines. Otherwise, people will have another reason to criticize our acting." Faye Jennings pulled her along, heading toward her spot in the shade.
’Faye Jennings is the one who’s truly looking out for me,’ Sandra thought. ’With her acting skills and status, who would dare say her acting is bad? Meanwhile, my own acting is constantly being questioned.’
’For Faye to set aside her status and be willing to run lines with me, she must be trying to help me warm up and avoid any more mistakes during the actual take.’
’As for Clara Grant... hmph. I’ll just scare her a little, make her look like a fool in front of everyone. That’s not going too far, is it?’

After Clara Grant finished with her makeup and went to the set, the assistant director was asking if she was ready. Director Keane wanted to go over the scene, so she quickly ran over.
When she arrived, she saw that Miles Quinn and Faye Jennings were both there. She smiled and greeted him, "Miles."
Her tone and attitude were more natural than they had ever been before.
Then she nodded at Faye Jennings. Since they hadn’t had a complete falling-out yet, she had to maintain basic courtesy.
Miles Quinn gave her a deep look, a smile spreading across his face as he called out, "Sister-in-law."
It wasn’t easy for him to say that. Their relationship was public now, and even though they were just dating, a "future" sister-in-law was still a sister-in-law. It wasn’t out of line for him to call her that now.
When Faye Jennings heard him call her "Sister-in-law," she subconsciously clenched her fists.
