A Night of Desire
Chapter 443 - 436: Shot? Are You Kidding Me?
He then subconsciously shot to his feet, his gaze following "Tina’s" to the gun in the shooter’s hand.
He knew that for the actors’ safety, although their guns were real, the bullets inside were blanks—the kind that made a sound and produced smoke from the muzzle when the trigger was pulled, but didn’t fire a projectile.
So, Clara Grant wasn’t in any danger, but for some reason, he still couldn’t help but feel tense. He stared intently at the muzzle of the gun, not blinking for a second.
According to the script, the female lead standing on the other side of "Young Master Kingston" wasn’t supposed to see the killer. Therefore, Faye Jennings, who played the female lead, couldn’t turn her head. However, she still glanced in that direction out of the corner of her eye, a faint, cold smile playing on her lips.
Sandra, on the other hand, stared intently at the gun’s muzzle. She raised an eyebrow smugly, waiting to see Clara Grant make a fool of herself.
’I wonder, when something unexpectedly fires from the gun that’s supposed to be harmless and hits Clara Grant, will she panic and scream?’
’Isn’t she hailed as the "One-Take Wonder" of the cast? Hasn’t she never had an NG, except for that one kissing scene? Well, I’m going to make her NG this time.’
’Who knows? Maybe this experience will leave her with some trauma, and she’ll keep having NGs for this scene from now on.’
At that moment, Clara Grant was completely immersed in the scene, utterly unaware of the approaching danger.
Following the script, "Tina" shouted, "Watch out!" and threw her body in front of "Young Master Kingston."
The killer pulled the trigger. BANG!
Seth Quinn watched in horror as a bullet actually flew out of the muzzle—which should have shot nothing—and sped straight toward Clara Grant, who was shielding Miles Quinn.
He had no time to think, no time to shout a warning. He lunged toward Clara Grant. In the instant the bullet arrived, he used his momentum to pull her into a spin, then kicked out at a dumbfounded Miles Quinn who was just standing there.
Completely unprepared, Miles Quinn was knocked to one side by the kick.
Meanwhile, Clara Grant was held tightly in his arms. The next second, the bullet slammed into his back.
This entire series of events happened in an instant. Everyone on set was stunned.
When they first saw Seth Quinn lunge forward, they almost wanted to laugh. This was just a scene; how could President Quinn not know that? Was he lunging like that just to show how much he loved Clara Grant?
They even thought to themselves, ’Alright, alright, we know you love her. You don’t have to show off anymore.’
But when they saw something actually pierce Seth Quinn’s back, followed by seeping blood that instantly stained a large patch of his back red, everyone’s eyes widened in terror. It was as if they were frozen by a magic spell, unable to move.
Miles, having been kicked out of nowhere by his older brother, figured Seth was getting jealous over a movie scene. He couldn’t help but shake his head with a resigned smile.
As for Clara Grant, who was being held in Seth Quinn’s arms, once she realized what had happened, she looked up and glared at him, hissing angrily in a low voice, "Seth Quinn, are you insane? Do you think this is how you show you care about me? That I’ll just forgive you? In your drea—"
Before she could finish her sentence, she heard someone let out a piercing shriek. Before she could even process it, more panicked screams followed.
When she heard someone shouting, "Oh no, President Quinn’s been shot!" Clara Grant almost laughed. ’Shot? What kind of joke is that?’
But when she felt Seth Quinn start to lose his strength, his entire weight pressing down on her, she began to panic.
