Abyssal Sovereign: The Demon's Dominion
Chapter 359 - 358: A plucked flower
Bang!!!
A sound like a gunshot rang out as the two collided.
For Calus, he simply raised a finger while the kid struck with all his power.
"I'm afraid if I use all my power, you will die immediately," Calus said, his eyes neutral and emotionless.
Across from him, the kid froze. Although he wanted to argue, to say Calus was bluffing, his back was already soaked in cold sweat.
After all, he had struck Calus with all his strength, yet Calus had defended with a single finger.
"But I respect ethics. I will show you a glimpse…"
Calus spoke calmly as the kid's eyes shrank in horror.
He hurriedly backed away, stopping just inches from the edge of the arena.
"Be prepared," Calus said as he made his move.
Bang!
A golden light glittered across the arena as everyone's attention turned toward Calus.
"It couldn't be…?" one of the elders from the Central Continent muttered in shock.
The others were equally stunned.
The participants even the senior and elder students were speechless.
That faint power…
It could only mean one thing.
A Gold-level expert had made a move.
"Referee, won't you decide the match? Also, he needs immediate help, or he might die," Calus said as he slowly withdrew his punch.
At this moment, he had only shown a fraction of his power.
His punch had stopped inches from the kid's face.
Blood trickled from the kid's nose as his eyes rolled back and he fainted.
"Yes… Calus wins this round," the referee hurriedly declared, his mouth hanging open.
You must understand, he was a verified Gold-level expert, yet he hadn't even seen how Calus attacked.
And Calus was only twelve years old.
Calus wasn't a Gold-level expert… right?
That wasn't even the worst part.
The worst part was that he had felt fear from that power.
He felt that Calus was stronger than him.
Scary.
"That kid…"
"Another monster. Tell me, is he from our continent?"
"You wish. He should be from the Southern Continent."
"You poor lads. Only the Western Continent can produce someone like this."
Suddenly, the elders instructed their subordinates to investigate which continent Calus came from.
Among them, only one elder wore a faint smile.
The elder of the Eastern Continent.
"Good work, lad," the old man thought with satisfaction.
---
After the match, Calus stepped down amid shocked gasps and awe. His teammates trembled in disbelief.
This… how could this happen?
A Gold-level expert among them?
"Ah, seems the young cub won't follow his past life's path," a familiar voice suddenly said.
Calus turned to the side, his expression shifting.
"Don't worry. I'm not going to do anything here," Lisa said casually, waving her hand before walking toward the arena.
"Sigh… at least since the chosen one has appeared, I shouldn't fall too far behind," Lisa muttered with a smile.
Bang!
A kid was sent flying out of the arena, crashing to the ground unconscious.
"Winner, Lisa," the referee announced with a nod.
She was a promising seedling. From her movements, she was at least at the Five-Star Silver Realm.
Strong.
The referee's gaze wandered toward Calus.
Honestly, even he would be stunned.
A twelve-year-old stronger than him?
What had his years of cultivation amounted to?
The referee sighed.
Because of Calus, many would begin doubting themselves.
He truly was a monster.
Soon, Fre was called.
He carried a large mace over his shoulder.
Across from him stood a short-haired kid holding a thin, long sword.
"Begin."
With the referee's call, the short-haired kid moved, his movements nimble and precise as he attacked Fre.
Fre simply stood there, observing.
"Is he stupid? Is he just going to stand there and accept the attack?" the short-haired kid thought.
He wasn't the only one thinking that. Many in the crowd thought the same.
"Thanks for the lesson," Fre's voice suddenly rang out.
The short-haired kid's face changed.
But it was too late.
Fre had disappeared and reappeared several meters behind him.
Boom!
Fre used the exact same technique the kid had just demonstrated only stronger.
Bang!
The short-haired kid was flung out of the arena.
His Three-Star Bronze strength was simply not enough against Fre.
"Winner, Fre," the referee declared.
Fre nodded and stepped down.
In a distant corner, a faint smile appeared.
"Seems this year will be fun," a low female voice murmured as her gaze settled on Calus.
The competition continued until nightfall.
By the end of the day, half of the participants had been eliminated.
---
"Calus… you really are a Gold expert?" Fre asked excitedly as they walked back to their dorm. 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝙚𝙬𝓮𝙗𝒏𝙤𝒗𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝒐𝓶
Calus smiled.
"Eh? You didn't believe your bro when I told you I'm very strong?" he joked.
"No, Calus, you're a monster. While everyone else is still in the Silver Realm, you're already in Gold. You're in the same realm as the seniors! If you win, will you accept the offer to fight in the Senior League?" Fre asked eagerly.
"Maybe. Guess," Calus said with a wink.
"That's awesome!" Fre exclaimed, patting Calus on the back.
Just as they were chatting, a familiar figure appeared.
"Lisa? Are you here to greet my good friend Calus?" Fre asked smugly.
If one didn't know better, they'd think he was the Gold-level expert.
Lisa nodded calmly.
"Yes, I am, brother. Can I have a moment with Calus?"
Fre's smile stiffened.
His eyes widened in shock as he looked at Calus… then back at Lisa.
It couldn't be…
Has my sister been smitten by Calus?
"I… I… Calus…" Fre stammered.
Calus nodded.
"I do want to talk with Lisa."
It was about time they spoke.
Fre felt his heart shatter.
His sister… and his sworn brother.
How could this happen?!
"O-okay… I'll give you two a moment," Fre muttered as he rushed into his dorm.
"Waaaah! Calus has taken my sister from me! Waaah! My precious little sister! Calus, you are cruel!" Fre wailed dramatically as he opened a bottle of milk and began drinking while tears streamed down his face.
