Tian Xiaoman happily replied, "Then let’s go to Drunken Immortal Tower for crabs; the crabs there are delicious, and now is just the right season for them."

"Where is Drunken Immortal Tower?" Chen Feng was not familiar with the place.

"It’s over by the East Gate, old town area, been open for decades, everyone who lives in the old county town knows it."

Tian Xiaoman was from the old county town.

"Alright, let’s go there. You lead the way."

So, they got into Chen Feng’s car, with Tian Xiaoman giving directions, and arrived at Drunken Immortal Tower after about ten minutes.

The name itself indicates it’s a Chinese-style restaurant.

Led by Tian Xiaoman, the two walked into this old-brand restaurant and got a private room on the second floor. Tian Xiaoman ordered seven or eight dishes in one go and also asked for a pot of the best tea.

Chen Feng looked at the menu; the best pot of tea was just 120 yuan, and the most expensive dish was over 300 yuan, not particularly expensive.

The whole meal would only cost around a thousand bucks at most.

It was clear that Tian Xiaoman was not planning to exploit him.

The tea came first, and while they were waiting for the dishes, they chatted about everyday matters.

The main topic was Chen Feng asking about her work situation. Since the last time when he took her to visit the principal’s house at the second high school, her situation had improved significantly; no one dared to harass her at school anymore.

But she was still young, and getting promoted or a salary raise was quite challenging.

She considered running a tutoring class to earn some extra money, but the authorities were strict now; if discovered, it might jeopardize her teaching job, so she didn’t dare take the risk.

Thus, she could only fetch a monthly salary of four to five thousand, with the only perks being the numerous holidays, and she could rest during winter and summer breaks without working. Most importantly, she still had enthusiasm for her teaching job.

Chen Feng certainly wouldn’t advise her to resign because, nowadays, teaching jobs are a major advantage for many women, especially those with tenure.

As they chatted about everyday affairs, time quickly passed, and the dishes arrived one after another. Both of them were hungry and began eating with plain white rice.

Among them were four steamed large crabs, which the two found delightful, with lots of meat and rich roe, paired with the restaurant’s secret sauce, making them taste exceptional.

Of the four large crabs, Tian Xiaoman ate only one, while Chen Feng devoured the other three.

At least two-thirds of the other dishes ended up in Chen Feng’s stomach.

When they checked the bill, it turned out to be only over eight hundred, not even a thousand.

So, Tian Xiaoman truly didn’t rip him off this meal.

After leaving the restaurant, as per Tian Xiaoman’s suggestion earlier, they went to Citizen Park in the new town for a stroll.

The Citizen Park is vast, transformed from farmland and rivers, serving as a supporting facility for a cluster of newly constructed buildings nearby, conveniently boosting property values around it.

They parked the car and strolled through this new park, genuinely reminiscent of a campus romance.

On Tian Xiaoman’s face was naturally the happiness of being in love, which stirred a tiny sense of guilt within Chen Feng.

Chen Feng knew well that he wasn’t in a relationship with her; he was just pleasing her out of lust.

Yet Tian Xiaoman seemed to take it seriously; even though she knew he was flirtatious and a philanderer, emotions can be hard to control sometimes.

Chen Feng didn’t intentionally lure or deceive her, but his actions now had a hint of manipulating her.

The two spent nearly an hour wandering around the large park before sitting on a long bench by the river to rest.

Tian Xiaoman happily said, "This park is really nice. I saw it online before and always wanted to come see it, but I haven’t had the chance. I’m glad I finally did."

Chen Feng agreed with a nod, "This park is excellent, spacious, beautiful scenery, also with a children’s playground, where parents can bring their kids for fun."

"Yeah, living by the park is quite nice, with good air and scenery. Like those few buildings just separated by a street from the park, not far from the mall. Having some money, buying a house here would be a great choice."

Chen Feng laughed and said, "Do you want one? I can buy it for you."

Tian Xiaoman shot him a glance, "Don’t talk about keeping me like a mistress, or I’ll get angry."

Chen Feng feigned innocence, "You’re accusing me wrongly. I did think about it before, but since you firmly rejected, I wouldn’t bring it up again."

"Then why say you’ll buy me one? Houses here aren’t cheap, starting at ten thousand; are you going to give it to me?"

Chen Feng shook his head with a chuckle, "Of course not for free. I’m planning to buy one and rent it to you, charge you rent, at most, offer a discount."

Hearing this, Tian Xiaoman was somewhat tempted but quickly shook her head to decline, "Forget it. No reward without effort. Besides, these are new houses; after purchasing, you’d have to decorate, which requires money."

Chen Feng shook his head with a smile, "You’re quite the hypocrite, just refused earlier."

Tian Xiaoman’s face reddened slightly but argued, "I’m a woman; isn’t it normal to act reserved?"

"Alright, then. In a few days, if I have time, I’ll buy an apartment here and have you handle the decoration; I’ll cover the cost. Once it’s done, you can rent it and live."

"Are you serious?" Tian Xiaoman was a bit incredulous; Chen Feng’s carefree tone seemed like buying vegetables.

"Of course I’m serious. You can also help keep an eye on the properties here."

"Then let’s go see the house now."

Tian Xiaoman eagerly stood up to speak.

Just then, someone called out to Chen Feng, "Chen Feng!"

The two turned back and saw a 200-pound man, slightly panting and sweating on his forehead, walking with a pretty, tall woman in her mid-twenties beside him.

This man was Chen Feng’s high school classmate Yang Jiayu, dressed in oversized sports shorts and a tank top, with sports shoes, evidently there for exercise.
