Chapter 291: Rivalry (3)

Samuel stared at Regina in disbelief. It was hard for him to believe that after how much they had argued in the last weeks, she would give up living with a wealthy man like Timothy. Samuel did not buy her act to make him change his words. "Nice one Regina but we both know you would not give up luxury for me. You hate me," he said.

"I hate that you betrayed Aurora and you tried to use me but you are still my stupid older brother and the last blood relative that I care for. If you wish to leave, I will go with you. I promise," said Regina.

"You honestly think I believe that? No one in their right mind would give up this lifestyle and I am not running away from this town when we still have many businesses here and a good reputation. I can rebuild what was lost, we just need the priest or something to pray over that house to get rid of those souls," Samuel started to plot how he could turn this all around.

Regina could not hold back laughing at Samuel. "Are you stupid? Mother and father were killed because they did not want to give up everything and you wish to try taking it all back? Have you not been paying attention? Nothing good will ever come from going back to the house we grew up in. You will if you stepped foot on that land, Samuel."

"Whatever killed mother and father has to go back to wherever the hell they came from. You can see them and speak with them right?" Samuel suddenly had a brilliant idea. He tried to grab Regina but Timothy blocked him.

"Don’t fucking grab her," Timothy pointed his sword towards Samuel’s neck.

"There’s no helping you. Why on earth was I wasting my time and hope for you? Please leave before whatever was chasing you comes into Timothy’s home. No one else needs to get hurt while it looks for you. Go out the same way you came," Regina said then turned her back on her brother. It was hard for her to do this twice in one night especially after she lost everyone else but Samuel did not care about sticking together.

"Regina," Samuel glared at her. "Are you going to abandon me again? You ran away tonight and gave me a half-ass apology as you ran away."

"I should not have apologized in the first place. You were not deserving of it. I changed my mind so you need to leave. I don’t care what you will decide to do with your life but I will move on from all of this and be happy. I am going to stay with Timothy and I am going to continue to have a relationship with Aurora. Do not show up before me ever again. That is if you are still alive," Regina bitterly said.

"Ha!" Samuel gripped his hair. "Where did it all go wrong? It feels like a moment ago we were in Aurora’s room listening to Minnie tell us stories about a beast. I could depend on the two of you back then."

"I could depend on my older brother to protect me but people change. You and I want two different things in life. That is why we have to go our separate ways, Sam. You can hate me and scream I abandoned my family but I hope you can soon realize how you abandoned me," Regina stated.

She could no longer stand to face Samuel and wished to leave to be anywhere but here. Regina already knew there was no way they could be on good terms again after he was willing to push the plan for her to be with Gilbert to go against Minnie. There was no point in being nice or trying to let go of the past when the two of them had changed.

Seeing that Regina was done, Timothy needed Samuel to go. "I will provide you with some money to be able to leave this town and start anew. If something appears in front of you, do as Regina says give up everything. Beg for your life if you wish to survive."

Samuel looked back and forth between his old friend and little sister. "The two of you know that I will die if I step foot out of this house. I need to stay here to be protected. You, Aurora, and that beast of a man are here. You must be crazy to think I would leave," he quickly sat down on the floor.

They would have to try their hardest to pick him up to get rid of him. Samuel wanted to live. He worked so hard to follow after his father and gave up his dreams to end up in the castle. If Regina was going to enjoy Timothy’s wealth, so should he.

Timothy gritted his teeth out of irritation. He came here to comfort Regina not deal with Samuel. "Samuel now is not the time for games when she doesn’t want you to be here. Leave or I will have someone drag you out. We made a lot of bad decisions tonight so you should stand on them and face the consequences. There is nothing more Regina can do for you and I won’t let her be caught up in your mess. Leave right now and return-"

"Let him stay the night and leave in the morning. He’ll just end up annoying us all night to be let back in. You need to think about what you will do when the sun rises. Will you chase after something that does not belong to you and die or let go? You have enough time to think about it but do not approach me while you are here. We are both done with each other. We could have been better had you not viewed me as your rival when I am just your sister," said Regina.

"How could I not when father and Minnie liked to pair us together? I wonder how long I’ve been jealous and despised you?" Samuel wondered out loud.
