Chapter 6: system store

"System, you just said there is a system store. How should I check it?"

[Host, to check the system store, please swipe left on the card.]

Leo swiped left and the image on the card shifted . Five options appeared.

Resources , Weapons , transportation, Cards and Miscellaneous .

Seeing these options, Leo decided to check the list one by one. After going through each list, he came to the conclusion:

Resources included food, water, and medicine.

Weapons included knives and guns. There was even an atomic bomb included in it.

Transportation included bicycles, cars, trucks, and even an helicopter

Cards included various rare cards like Physique Cards, Agility Cards, Constitution Cards, Strength Cards, Skill Cards, and Upgrade Cards.

Miscellaneous was a little unique because it had only five items and a countdown on it.

"System, why is there a countdown in the Miscellaneous section?"

[Replying to host... the Miscellaneous section refreshes every 48 hours. After 48 hours, the previous items disappear and new items will appear.]

Understanding how the store worked, Leo asked the most important question.

"System, what is this nucleus crystal? It says I need nucleus crystals to buy items from the store."

[Host, the crystal that dropped after you killed the mutant zombie is known as a nucleus crystal.]

At the mention of the mutant zombie, Leo remembered something.

"System, you said that to complete the second task, I had to kill 10 zombies. But I have only killed 3 zombies so far, so how did I complete the task?"

[Host, the last zombie you killed was a mutant zombie.

The task was to kill 10 normal zombies.

One mutant zombie = 10 normal zombies.]

"Okay, I understand now."

Again, Leo’s mind went towards the store. There were some things in the store that Leo wanted badly, but seeing the amount of nucleus crystals he would need to buy them, he nearly vomited blood.

But his mind quickly spun around and he tried to test his luck with the system.

"System, isn’t there some lottery or anything for the first time I open the store?"

[Host, please stop trying to exploit the system. The system can hear all your thoughts. You can never be smarter than the system.]

[And replying to the host, no. You already got the beginner pack ahead of time because the system felt pity for your dumb brain.]

[No more freebies for the host.]

"Stingy," Leo muttered.

But the next sentence the system spoke made him shut his mouth automatically.

[Host, there is something you get for obtaining the Origin Card.]

As it said this, a card appeared in Leo’s hand.

After carefully observing the card, Leo found that it looked like some kind of belt.

[Host, this is the Card Captor Belt. It is used for storing all your cards. This is not an ordinary belt. It is linked to your brain after you put your Origin Card in it.]

[After putting on the belt, you can instantly release the cards stored inside it without the need to search for them or hold them in your hand.]

Hearing this, Leo released the belt and put it around his waist.

"Oh, System, how do I store this nucleus crystal?"

[You can just put the crystal on top of your Origin Card and it will automatically store it inside your Origin Card.]

"Okay, I got it."

Leo followed the system’s instruction

[Ding... System generating the next task.

Next task issued.

The host should reach Level 10.]

Hearing this, Leo was confused.

"System, how do I level up?"

[Host, the more zombies and mutant creatures you kill, the faster you level up.]

[Since the system is kind and benevolent, killing humans won’t provide you with any experience or rewards.]

[To check your experience bar, click on the Level icon on your Origin Card. There, you can see your progress.]

Leo tried clicking on the Level icon and immediately saw his progress.

Level 1 – 3%

After understanding the system’s various functions, he turned his attention toward the two cards that had dropped after killing the zombies.
