Baby System: I'm the Beast World's Only Hope!
Chapter 491: Episode 489: The Marriage Day
A few short weeks passed by in a warm, happy blur.
The tall, loud human city of New York was always busy. Down on the streets, millions of people were rushing to work, honking their car horns, and shouting on their phones. But high up in the sky, near the very top of a giant glass building, it was a completely different world.
Today was the wedding day.
The Kings had bought a massive, private indoor garden just for this special morning. It was a breathtaking place. The walls were made of clear glass, showing the bright blue sky and fluffy white clouds. Thick, green vines climbed up the tall pillars, and thousands of sweet-smelling white roses were blooming everywhere.
It was incredibly beautiful, but the most special thing about the indoor garden was how quiet it was.
It was completely silent.
There were no noisy crowds of people whispering in the back rows. There were no distant cousins, no old coworkers, and no human friends.
There was no family waiting to take a hundred pictures. Roxy truly had no one else in this entire human world but them. If this were a normal wedding, having so many empty chairs might feel very sad and lonely.
But the Kings completely understood her heart. They made sure the silence did not feel lonely at all. They made the quiet garden feel sacred. It felt like a safe, magical temple built just for the seven of them, far away from any danger or sadness. It was a place where their broken pieces could finally be put back together.
Tucked away in a small, pretty room hidden behind a wall of white flowers, Roxy looked at herself in a tall mirror.
She was wearing a stunning, breathtaking white wedding dress. It did not have giant, heavy jewels or scratchy stiff fabric. It was made of soft, delicate lace that felt like a warm hug against her skin. The long, white skirt flowed all the way down to the floor, looking like a real, fluffy cloud. A simple, thin veil was pinned into her dark curls, falling gently down her back.
She looked healthy. She looked incredibly happy. She looked like a true queen who had finally found her peace.
Roxy took a deep, shaky breath, filling her lungs with the sweet smell of the roses. She squeezed her hands together, feeling a giant butterfly fluttering in her tummy. She was so excited.
Then, the music started playing softly.
It was a gentle, sweet song played on a single stringed instrument. The notes floated through the quiet garden like tiny drops of warm rain. It was the signal she had been waiting for.
Roxy reached out and gently pushed the wall of white flowers aside. She stepped out into the open garden.
A long carpet made entirely of soft white flower petals stretched out in front of her. At the very end of the long aisle, waiting under an arch of green leaves, were her six gorgeous men.
They were all wearing perfectly clean, sharp black suits. They looked like absolute gods standing in the sunlight. But they were not acting tough or scary today. The very second Roxy stepped out into the light, every single one of these giant, powerful Kings completely fell apart.
They were crying.
Torian, the massive white tiger, let out a soft, shaky breath and covered his mouth with his big hand. Big, thick tears rolled right down his cheeks, and he didn’t even try to wipe them away. Caspian, the sweet Sea King, was openly sobbing, giving her a watery, beautiful smile. Ren had both hands pressed over his heart, his violet eyes shining with pure wonder, like he was looking at a real-life miracle.
Syris had to look down at his shiny shoes for a second, totally overcome by how beautiful she was, while Kaelen’s usually icy blue eyes were completely melted by warm, happy tears.
Now they fully understood the extent of her beauty.
A beauty that could even outshine the word beauty on it’s own.
And standing right in the middle was Zarek. The great Dragon King was shaking slightly. His golden eyes were wet and overflowing with so much pure, undeniable love that it made Roxy’s chest ache in the best way possible. They were crying because they had almost lost her to the dark, and now, she was finally theirs forever.
No matter where she went, they will always find her. And be with her.
Roxy smiled, her own eyes filling with happy tears. She took her first step down the petal-covered aisle.
As her foot touched the soft ground, the most magical, healing moment of the entire book happened.
Time seemed to slow down.
The soft, plucking music faded into the background until it was just a quiet hum. The bright sunlight coming through the glass ceiling felt perfectly warm. The world stopped rushing.
Roxy took another slow step. She looked to her left, and then she looked to her right.
Lined up perfectly along both sides of the aisle were rows of white wooden chairs. In the real world, the chairs were completely empty. But as Roxy looked at them, her heart did something wonderful. The deep, pure love of a mother opened up her mind.
In her mind’s eye, the chairs were not empty at all.
She saw all nine of her beautiful children sitting there.
They were not ghosts to be scared of. They were sweet, happy visions brought to life by her own healing heart. They were dressed in their very best clothes, sitting right in the front rows to watch their mother get married.
Drax was sitting in the very first chair. He looked so tall and proud, wearing a handsome dark shirt. As Roxy walked past him, Drax gave her that gentle, familiar smile and nodded his head, as if he was telling her it was okay to be happy.
Sitting right next to Drax was Onyx. The strong wolf boy was grinning from ear to ear, his blue eyes shining with total joy. He bumped his shoulder against Axel, who was sitting next to him.
Axel was busy, just like always. Sitting right on Axel’s lap was little Tyara. The tiny tiger cub was wearing a pretty little ribbon around her neck. She wasn’t trying to bite anyone today. Instead, Tyara was clapping her tiny, furry paws together, cheering for her mama.
On the other side of the aisle, Tanith sat perfectly straight. The Swamp Queen looked incredibly elegant. She smiled a big, real smile, completely dropping her bossy attitude, and wiped a happy tear from her snake eyes.
Right beside Tanith was Iris. The sweet wolf girl was bouncing little Fedor on her knee. Fedor had his fluffy red fox tails wrapped happily around his waist. When Roxy looked at him, Fedor pointed his chubby little finger right at her and mouthed the word "Mama" with a giant, toothy grin.
Little Zale was sitting in his own chair, his short legs swinging happily back and forth. The sweet merman boy wasn’t crying anymore. He waved his tiny hand at her, his face glowing with pure happiness.
And sleeping perfectly safe and sound in Iris’s soft arms was tiny baby Gianna.
They were all there. They were smiling. They were clapping. They were watching her walk down the aisle toward her happy ending, and they were so incredibly glad that she was safe.
The vision was so real, so bright, and so full of love that it completely washed away the very last drop of sadness inside Roxy’s soul. The bleeding hole in her chest was totally gone. The dark shadows of guilt and fear were erased.
Roxy smiled back at the sweet ghosts of her babies. She didn’t feel like a bad mother anymore. She didn’t feel broken or lost. She felt their love wrapping around her like a warm, thick blanket, protecting her from the cold.
She felt completely whole.
She turned her green eyes away from the chairs and looked straight ahead at the six men waiting for her at the altar. They were holding their hands out to her, ready to give her the entire world. She kept walking forward, her dress floating over the white petals, feeling lighter than air.
’This is the peace I always dreamed to have.’
