King Angry Rat climbed out of the shattered wall, its red eyes glaring with intensity never before seen.

It was angry. Beyond angry.

It looked at Anna first. Then it turned its gaze towards Fang Raon. And its anger happened to intensify.

Fang Raon, after all, burned a hole through its hand and was responsible for the death of all of its children.

"SCREEEECH~!"

King Angry Rat quickly picked up its staff from the ground and sprinted past Anna and headed straight for him!

"Tank’s Taunt!"

But then...

Anna tapped her heavy sword against the shield, and King Angry Rat almost instantly stopped in its tracks.

It turned around with a look of anger towards her.

"Do you really think that I let you attack my beloved brother? Think again, ugly creature!"

Anna screamed, and she solidified her stance and placed the shield in front of her in a very heavy defensive position.

With a loud screech, King Angry Rat rushed straight at her, and it lifted its brown staff in preparation for a fierce strike.

"Heat Gaze!"

At that moment.

Fang Raon’s eyes burned, and a beam of concentrated fire shot out of his eyes, and it headed straight towards the staff-wielding rat.

King Angry Rat felt the heat. It turned towards the beam of fire. It quickly bent its body and dodged the attack.

But then...

Anna smirked, and she pushed her heavy sword through the air and into the abdomen of the King Angry Rat.

With Read, she could tell that King Angry Rat planned to dodge and how and in what direction as well.

Therefore.

She already knew where she should focus her attack on.

"SCREEEEEEEECH!"

King Angry Rat was in a lot of pain.

"Maxima!"

Anna ran the heavy blade across King Angry Rat’s body with all her strength until she had basically cut it in half.

SPURT~ The blood gushed, and the King Angry Rat stumbled with weak legs and fell down to its knees.

[...]

[HP: 6%]

It was slowly losing more and more health!

"I’ll finish it off, brother!"

Anna shouted, and she ran for the collapsed King Angry Rat, her sword raised high above her head.

"DON’T!"

Fang Raon screamed, and he opened his Magic Grimoire, and it flipped to the first page, and he immediately cast the "Earth Wall."

A wall rose in front of Anna, and she smashed right into it.

"...Why?"

Anna asked with a stunned look as she turned to her brother and saw the serious look on his face.

"Look..."

Fang Raon said and pointed towards the King Angry Rat, who looked to be already in death bed.

With a frown on her face, Anna looked past the Earth Wall and saw that the King Angry Rat’s bleeding had stopped.

From the dark corners of the room, small rats gathered around their king, and they got devoured by the King Angry Rat.

With each bite, the King Angry Rat recovered its health, and its body was slowly getting back together.

’Rat Summon! I didn’t know it could use those rats to heal itself. If I had attacked just now, I might’ve died since I wouldn’t have expected the King Angry Rat to attack back.

’Brother just saved me... I couldn’t catch that with my Read because I was too excited and thus not in a perfect state of mind to use Read.

’What a stupid mistake...’

Anna pouted.

She hated that she made herself look like a fool in front of him.

"We cannot kill the King Angry Rat if it has all those small rats. Use Tank’s Taunt to attract them away from them. I’ll handle the King meanwhile."

Fang Raon said.

"...Okay, but are you sure that you’ll be fine?"

Anna asked with a worry.

"I’ll be careful."

Fang Raon said.

She believed him, and thus, she backed away from the King Angry Rat until she was back over at the double doors.

"Tank’s Taunt!"

She smacked the heavy sword against the shield.

This time around, she aimed the Tank’s Taunt only at all the small creatures and not at the King Angry Rat.

With angry squeaks, the small rats turned to Anna, and they started running away from their king and towards her.

Fang Raon didn’t move. The small rats just ran past his boots.

The small rats ran straight at her. Anna was disgusted. But she then shrugged it off, and with the shield, she just crushed them all.

However.

More and more of those small rats appeared in the dark corners, ready to help their King, and thus, Anna just attracted all of them straight to her.

’There must be some kind of holes in the walls for these small rats to be able to sneak into the room.’

She thought, and she then used her heavy sword and swatted the small rats like they were nothing but small pests.

"..."

King Angry Rat pointed its staff towards Fang Raon. Green gas started to whirl around the tip of the staff.

It was about to use the Sewer Breath Blast attack!

"Earth Wall!"

Fang Raon held onto the Magic Grimoire, and the first page started glowing with a beautiful brownish glow. 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦

The earth wall rose right under the staff and smacked into the staff, and it was now pointing towards the ceiling.

It was too late to cancel the attack.

Sewer Breath Blast attack got sent straight into the ceiling, causing the entire room to shake violently.

At that moment.

Fang Raon jumped over the earth wall and came face-to-face with the frustrated King Angry Rat.

He pointed his left hand towards the King Angry Rat’s face, and flames started spreading from his fingers.

"Fireball!"

A ball of fire smashed into the face of the King Angry Rat, and it let out a howl that was unlike anything that rat had ever made before.

"Heat Gaze!"

Fire burned in Raon’s eyes, and then, a concentrated beam of fire shot out from his eyes and smashed into the face of King Angry Rat, causing it to screech in agony.

It tried blocking the fires with its hands, but the flame beam was too strong, and it simply burned through the creature’s hands.

Its brownish fur turned black as it was engulfed in flames.

[King Angry Rat - HP: 22%]

[...]

[HP: 18%]

[...]

[HP: 15%]

King Angry Rat screamed in pain. It then finally dodged out of the way, but the damage was already done, and it had some heavy burns on its side.

Then.

It lifted its staff high into the air and let out a cry of help.

Every small rat in the sewer heard it. Thousands of them. They all started running towards their King.

"The small rats are coming, and I can sense a lot of them. We can’t possibly deal with all of them!!!"

Anna shouted.

"Anna, kill the King! I’ll handle those pests!"

Fang Raon shouted, and he jumped to the top of the earth wall to give himself a good vantage point of the small area.

Anna strapped the shield back to her back. She grabbed the heavy sword with both hands. She wasn’t going to care about defense anymore.

She was going to only attack from now on!

’I don’t want to disappoint my brother. I will kill that disgusting piece of shit even if it is the last thing I do in this world!’

Anna screamed inside her mind, and she gritted her teeth so hard that they clattered, and she then shot forward.

She moved fast. Ridiculously fast.

"Godspeed!"

She reached the King Angry Rat immediately, and she hacked her heavy sword into its neck and sent it crashing to the ground.

"SCREEEEEECH!"

[King Angry Rat - HP: 9%]

It rose back to its feet with great difficulty, and then, it pointed the staff towards her, and green gas began to pour out of it.

Sewer Breath Blast!

It flew straight at her face, but she looked fearless, and she smashed her heavy sword through the beam.

"MAXIMA!"

The Sewer Breath Blast attack got cut in half. It dissipated like a harmless fart. King Angry Rat was beyond speechless.

At that moment.

The small rats started pouring out of the holes in the walls. Tens of them... Hundreds of them... And soon thousands of them.

It was a disgusting sight, and there were soon so many of them that the floor looked like a moving sea of fur and tails.

"..."

Fang Raon stood at the top of the earth wall, and at that moment, his eyes started burning, and so did his hands.

"HEAT GAZE!"

Flames shot out of his eyes, burning everything in sight, and some of the small rats were vaporized in an instant.

But there were still many of them.

Then.

"FIREBALLS!"

He hurled balls of flames at the rats, and they exploded, spreading flames of destruction everywhere.

It was burning everywhere. Smoke rising high to the ceiling.

The small rats didn’t stop advancing. They were desperate to get to their king. But whenever they touched the flames, they died.

These were Mage’s flames.

Ordinary rats couldn’t possibly hope to survive them.

"Screech!"

King Angry Rat was panicking. Its health was dropping to the red zone.

It tried swinging the staff at the girl in front of it, but she just raised her heavy sword and cut straight through it.

"Maxima..."

Anna whispered, and she then coupled a few follow-up slashes and cut off the King Angry Rat’s arms from the rest of its body.

It let out a horrifying screech, asking for help, but it was too late.

"You might not remember, but I do. This is revenge for killing me."

Anna smiled, and she then swung the sword one last time. It was over in an instant, blood splattering everywhere.

King Angry Rat’s head rolled to the ground, still wearing a look of shock.
