Chapter 255: New Fear
In the dimly lit room, a muscular red-skinned figure sat on stone steps, mace resting against his knee.
He had the eyes of an angry demon. Muscles the size of boulders rippled beneath his skin.
[Red Orc - HP: 100%]
The first-ever boss of the Tower of the Black, Red Orc, was the first-ever obstacle that the players had to overcome.
Red Orc suddenly looked towards the door.
He didn’t have the intelligence to speak the human tongue or the orc tongue, but he could still sense people approaching.
"Grr..."
Red Orc growled menacingly.
And at that moment.
The doors of the boss room slammed open, and torches with blue flames illuminated the darkened chamber.
"It’s been a while since I’ve seen this ugly mug!"
A voice came. A happy and giddy voice. It didn’t sound like the person was even a little bit worried about the Red Orc.
At that moment.
Anna and Fang Raon stepped through the doors, and the heavy-looking double doors slammed shut right behind them.
"ROAR!"
Red Orc roared loudly and slammed his broad chest muscles with both his fists, and then he picked up the mace.
"You still remember his three phases?"
Fang Raon asked his sister.
"I do. You don’t have to worry about me, my dearest brother. Just tell me what I need to do, and I will do it."
Anna said.
"I’d like to test some of my new spells. I hadn’t had time to test them yet. Why don’t you use intimidation on him?"
Fang Raon said.
"Okay~!"
Anna said, and she then picked up her shield, and with a bright smile on her face, she unleashed the "Intimidation" skill.
"Ugah?"
Red Orc froze in fear as Anna’s intimidation skill took effect, and in his eyes, Anna’s figure was replaced by the thing that he feared the most.
A spider.
A tiny little spider.
"UGAHHHH!"
Red Orc screamed in fear and tried to step back in retreat, but he was too afraid to move another step.
At that moment.
Fang Raon’s gray grimoire opened to a page that had several pictures of tiny goblin-like creatures with flames engulfing their bodies.
"Minion Summon!"
From the red page of the grimoire, three pointy-eared flame goblins jumped out of the page with burning flames trailing behind them.
They appeared in front of Fang Raon. Then, they kneeled. As if they were saying, "What’s our next command, master?"
"Attack!"
Fang Raon gave a very simple order.
He didn’t know how to utilize these minions to their fullest potential yet, as they were only level 1, and it was his first time using this spell.
So, he decided to use the simplest commands.
With a high-pitched roar, the flame goblins jumped back to their feet, and with their tiny figures, they started running towards the Red Orc.
They didn’t have weapons on them.
However.
As they approached the Red Orc, one of the flame goblins suddenly opened its mouth wide, and smoke started pouring out of it.
The black smoke engulfed Red Orc’s face and blinded him.
"Intimidation will soon end!"
Anna warned.
"That’s fine."
Fang Raon said as the flame goblins were already attacking the Red Orc, and the intimidation wouldn’t end in time.
At that moment.
Another one of the flame goblins opened its mouth wide, and flames started spewing out in all directions.
When the flames hit the black smoke, it created a massive explosion that engulfed the entire figure of the Red Orc.
"ROAAAAR!"
Red Orc screamed in anger as the intimidation skill vanished as the result of the sudden pain that shot through his body.
He swung the mace and smashed it through the heads of the flame goblins, crushing their skulls in one strike.
The flame goblins couldn’t make a sound as their skulls got crushed, and they immediately turned into piles of ash.
[Red Orc - 81%]
’It did a pretty good amount of damage.’
Fang Raon thought.
At that moment.
The flames that engulfed the Red Orc soon died off as it seemed like the orc’s red skin managed to absorb the fire.
"...Interesting."
Fang Raon thought out loud.
"Isn’t Red Orc a fire-type? During his last phase, he can shoot fire from his palms. I guess it can also absorb fire, but it can still get damaged by it."
Anna said.
"That seems to be the case. Alright, I know what we should do."
Fang Raon said.
Anna turned at him with a smile, and she just waited for his explanation, as she already made it very clear that she was just going to listen to his orders.
"I will distract him with the smoke bomb. Once his vision is shrouded by the smoke, you’ll flank him from the right, and I will flank him from the left.
"Take away his mace. During the second phase, he’ll start throwing that damn thing around, so I’d like to avoid that, as it can be dangerous.
"And I have a feeling that he’ll try to target me with it.
"Meanwhile, I will test the limits of his fire resistance."
Fang Raon said.
"Okay~!"
Anna said with a smile.
"Growl... Ugah... Ragh..."
Red Orc panted heavily, and he just watched as the two humans talked, and then, he saw them nod to each other.
In that moment.
Fang Raon stepped forward, and his grimoire flipped open like a living entity, and a black-gray page opened.
"Smoke Bomb!"
A bomb-shaped thing shot out of the grimoire. It was smoking with gray smoke. The smoke bomb exploded with a loud bang, enveloping the area around Red Orc in a thick cloud.
Red Orc couldn’t see anything.
The smoke was really thick, and with his very minimal intelligence, he tried killing the smoke with the mace.
However.
The mace just went through the smoke without doing anything.
"Haaaa!"
At that moment, out of nowhere, Anna jumped through the smoke, right from his blind spot, and she brought her sword down.
The heavy sword cut through the Red Orc’s right hand, which was holding the mace, and the hand fell to the ground, still clutching the weapon.
"ROAAAAAAAAAR!"
Red Orc screamed in agony.
He might’ve never screamed this loud before.
"I’ll be taking this~!"
Anna pried the bloody mace from the separated hand and tossed it away to the corner of the boss room.
Where it was out of reach.
"Raaaaaghhh!"
Red Orc looked at his bleeding right stump, trembling from the pain and shock, and at that moment, the smoke cleared.
"Whistle~!"
He heard a whistle, and as he turned around, he saw the grimoire-wielding man standing on his other side.
The grimoire turned pages.
"Fireball!"
Several fireballs smashed into his broad chest and exploded fiercely in a burst of flames, and Red Orc was thrown backwards, his skin blackened and smoking.
Yet again.
The flames got sucked into his body, but they didn’t absorb the pain that the Red Orc was feeling, and they didn’t restore his lost health.
[Red Orc - 41%]
"Flame Breath Blast!"
Fang Raon opened his mouth, and as the grimoire turned to yet another page, he suddenly breathed out a stream of fire that enveloped the Red Orc.
"ROAAAAAAAAAAAAR!"
"Ugh... God damn!"
Fang Raon wrinkled his brows, looking very uncomfortable, and he touched his throat as it felt like he had just swallowed a lit torch.
’That’s... Ugh...’
He shook his head, and he wasn’t done attacking just yet, and at that moment, his eyes started burning beautifully.
"Heat Gaze!"
A flaming beam shot out of his eyes and pierced through the Red Orc’s chest and even went through one of his three hearts.
"Urgh!"
Red Orc stumbled backwards with his eyes shaking, and he collapsed to the ground as the flaming beam finished its course.
Swoosh~! A shadow suddenly fell over him, and as he looked towards the ceiling, he saw a grinning young woman falling towards him.
"Bye, bye~!"
Anna stabbed the sword through the Red Orc’s chest, and it went straight through until it emerged out of his back.
"Agh..."
Red Orc gasped in surprise.
"Hehehe~!"
Anna laughed, and she then pulled the sword out of his body and started hacking away at his limbs.
"Hahahahaha~!"
Red Orc was powerless to do anything. He was just staring at the crazy woman in fear. The roles seemed very wrong.
He was supposed to be the one bringing fear into the hearts of players, not the other way around, but he couldn’t help it.
During this day...
Red Orc’s biggest fear wasn’t spiders anymore. It had become this young woman. His biggest fear was Fang Anna from now on.
And that fear was now engraved deep into the Red Orc’s code. Even after his death and respawn. He would still remember this moment.
’Are we bullying him?’
Fang Raon thought with an awkward look as he saw the Red Orc being at the verge of tears and watched as Anna was making him into mincemeat.
[Red Orc - 0%]
At last.
Red Orc’s health reached the bottom, and he let out tears of joy as he embraced death with a smile on his face.
For the first time ever.
Red Orc was actually happy that he was dead because he could get away from this crazy woman!
"Ah, man. But I wasn’t done yet. I wanted to cut him a little more. Do you think we can do this raid again, brother?"
Anna asked with a look of disappointment.
Red Orc’s eyes looked horrified, and he turned to Fang Raon, as if he were saying, "Please, mercy... Mercy!"
"Unfortunately... We cannot do the raid again unless we make new characters."
Fang Raon wryly smiled.
"Shame..."
Anna pouted, and then she did one last slash and cut off the Red Orc’s head from his body. The blood sprayed everywhere, staining the ground red.
