Born Without Magic… So What?
Chapter 25: The White Angel
Then when Arya saw her, she looked like a little kid.
Then, when Arya saw her, she looked like a little kid.
Her age seemed to be around four or six years old.
He stopped in the air for a second.
He was lost in deep thought.
Finally... 𝐟𝚛𝕖𝚎𝕨𝗲𝐛𝚗𝐨𝐯𝐞𝕝.𝐜𝗼𝗺
He decided to stop them.
Arya opened his white wings.
He flew into the sky and stopped in front of the carriages.
Then he removed the Invisible Ring.
His body appeared in the open sky.
The two humans driving the first carriage looked up.
One of them pointed into the sky.
"Hey! Look there! Something is flying!"
The other humans also looked up.
The sunlight was shining directly into their faces.
They couldn’t see Arya’s face clearly.
But they could clearly see his body and his white wings.
One of them frowned.
"I think he’s a human... not a demi-human."
Another man laughed.
"Today is our lucky day."
"We’ll catch him."
"We can sell him in the slave market."
"Someone with wings like him will be bought for a huge price."
The others laughed greedily.
Arya slowly raised his right hand toward them.
Before they could react...
A huge Fireball formed above his palm.
He threw it toward the first carriage.
Boom!!
The humans driving the carriage were burned alive instantly.
The carriage was also covered in flames.
Even the surrounding forest caught fire.
The slaves inside the carriage would also burn.
Arya immediately flew down and landed beside the three carriages.
The moment his feet touched the ground...
Ice spread from beneath his feet.
Crack... Crack...
The six remaining humans quickly came out of the other carriages.
They left the slaves behind and only thought about escaping the fire.
Before they could run...
Their legs froze together with the ground.
The freezing ice spread everywhere.
Soon the burning carriage and the surrounding area became covered in ice.
The six men tried with all their strength to break the ice.
They kicked.
They pulled.
They even struck it with their weapons.
But the ice didn’t break.
Not even a small crack appeared.
Arya slowly walked toward them.
One of the men shouted,
"Who are you?!"
"Why are you attacking us?!"
Arya said nothing.
He kept walking.
One man raised his sword.
"If you come any closer, I’ll kill you!"
He swung the sword at Arya.
Arya caught the blade with one hand.
Instantly...
The sword froze.
The ice spread from the sword to the man’s body.
Within seconds, he became a frozen statue.
Arya pushed him lightly.
Crash!!
His frozen body shattered into countless pieces.
The remaining five men trembled in fear.
None of them dared move.
One of them hurriedly said,
"You can take all our money!"
Another quickly spoke.
"You can take the slaves too!"
"There are many young girls."
"You can do whatever you want with them."
The men looked at each other and smiled.
They thought Arya had accepted their offer.
But Arya knew...
They didn’t regret what they had done.
They only wanted to save themselves.
Arya nodded.
"Okay."
"Then give me the keys to all the slave collars."
One of them immediately handed over the keys.
Arya looked at them.
Then he said,
"I also need the key for the girl in the third carriage."
The man searched his pocket.
Then he quickly handed the key to Arya.
As Arya walked toward the third carriage...
One of the men smiled.
He rubbed both of his hands together.
"We gave you everything."
"Now remove this ice from our legs."
Another complained,
"Yeah."
"My whole body is freezing."
Arya smiled.
"Okay."
"I’ll free you."
The men sighed in relief.
Arya walked toward one of them.
He placed his hand on the man’s chest.
The next moment...
Flames burst out.
The man screamed as he was burned alive.
The fire melted the ice and the metal around him.
The others widened their eyes.
"What the hell are you doing?!"
"You said you’d let us go!"
"We gave you everything!"
"You bastard!"
"You fooled us!"
Arya looked at them with cold eyes.
"You never showed mercy to others."
"So why should I show mercy to you?"
The next second...
Arya released flames toward the remaining men.
Their screams echoed through the frozen forest.
One after another...
They turned into ashes.
Silence returned once again.
After a few minutes...
All the ice finally melted.
Arya walked to the first and second carriages.
He opened both carriage doors.
Inside, there were twelve slaves.
All of them were demi-humans.
They looked weak and exhausted.
Arya unlocked the slave collars around their necks one by one.
After freeing all of them, Arya asked,
"Do you know that girl?"
They looked toward the third carriage.
One of them shook his head.
"We don’t know."
"We never met her."
"She isn’t from our village."
Arya nodded.
"Okay."
"You can go."
"I’ll help the rest."
The demi-humans thanked him before leaving.
There were two adults among them.
They guided the children toward their village.
Before leaving...
A little demi-human girl suddenly turned back.
"Thank you for saving our lives..."
"White Angel."
The other demi-humans also lowered their heads.
"Thank you, White Angel."
After saying that...
They continued walking away.
Arya watched them for a moment.
Then he walked to the third carriage.
He unlocked the door.
The girl inside was still unconscious.
Arya removed the slave collar from her neck.
He also unlocked the chains on her hands and legs.
Then he gently carried her in his arms.
Arya spread his white wings.
He flew into the sky.
He knew the dead human bodies would soon attract monsters.
Staying there any longer would only be dangerous.
Arya tried to find a safe place for her.
But there was no safe place nearby.
Before, Arya had used his Teleport skill to return to the orc camp.
If he used it again now...
He would be teleported there.
But there was one problem.
He didn’t know if his Teleport skill could take another person with him.
Or if only he could teleport alone.
If he tried...
And only he was teleported...
Then the unconscious girl would be left behind alone.
Arya looked at her for a moment.
He didn’t want to take that risk.
