Then Arya carried her in his arms and flew through the sky using his white wings.

He couldn’t leave her behind.

She was only a little kid.

Even though Arya himself was only eight years old...

He had already changed his appearance into that of an eighteen-year-old.

After a while...

The little girl slowly opened her eyes.

She still didn’t know what had happened.

She wasn’t fully awake yet.

She looked around blankly.

Then she realized...

She was high in the sky.

Her eyes widened in surprise.

She slowly looked at Arya.

For a few moments...

She just stared at him without saying anything.

From her point of view...

Arya looked very handsome and charming.

His pure white wings made him look just like an angel.

She spoke in a weak voice.

"Are... are you an angel?"

"Did you save me from the slave traders?"

She still couldn’t believe it.

A moment later, she asked softly,

"Am... am I dead?"

"Are you taking me to Heaven?"

Before Arya could ask her anything...

Her eyes closed again.

She fell unconscious once more.

From high above, Arya noticed a house on top of a mountain.

From that place, the entire village could be seen clearly.

That meant it was probably the Village Leader’s house or perhaps the residence of a Lord.

Arya thought there might still be someone living there.

The house wasn’t destroyed. It had been built on top of the mountain.

Climbing it normally was almost impossible.

There was only one road leading there from another mountain.

The only way to cross was a wooden bridge. But the bridge had already broken.

That was why no monsters could reach the house.

Without wings, it was impossible to get there.

Arya landed outside the house.

After landing... His white wings disappeared.

He walked to the front door.

It was a large house, almost the size of a small mansion.

It had two floors.

The front yard was also very spacious.

Arya knocked on the door. No one answered. He knocked again. Still no response.

He gently pushed the door.

Creak...

The door slowly opened.

Dust filled the air.

It looked like no one had lived there for a long time.

Arya checked every room.

There was no one inside.

The house had clearly been abandoned years ago.

He cleaned the dust from one of the beds.

Then he gently placed the little girl on it.

After that, he looked around the house.

There was a large living room.

Many expensive items and decorations were still there.

Arya wondered...

"Whose house is this?"

"The owner must have been very rich."

He activated his detection skill. No monsters were nearby.

Then Arya created two barriers.

One covered the entire house.

The other covered a much larger area outside.

If anyone entered the barrier...

He would receive a notification immediately.

The little girl was still unconscious. He couldn’t stay beside her all the time.

After making sure everything was safe...

Arya continued searching the house.

There were eight rooms on the second floor.

On the ground floor, there was one large kitchen...

And six more rooms.

After searching everywhere...

He still didn’t find anything useful.

Finally...

He reached a small room.

Unlike the others...

Its door was already open.

The moment he stepped inside...

He noticed something strange.

A huge portrait was hanging on the wall.

It was even taller than Arya himself.

He moved closer.

Then he raised his hand to wipe away the dust.

As soon as he touched it...

The portrait suddenly fell.

Bang!

It crashed onto the floor and shattered into pieces.

Arya wasn’t hurt.

But after the portrait broke...

He discovered a hidden door behind it.

He tried to open it.

It didn’t move.

He tried again.

And again.

Finally...

The hidden door slowly opened.

Behind it...

A staircase led downward into darkness.

Arya didn’t let his guard down.

Even though his detection skill found no monsters nearby...

That didn’t mean the place was truly safe.

If there was a monster stronger than him, like the Black Dragon...

It might be able to hide its presence or use magic to avoid his detection.

Keeping his guard up, Arya slowly stepped down the stairs.

The deeper he went...

The darker it became.

Soon, he couldn’t see anything ahead.

So he created a small Fire Ball.

It floated quietly in the air above him.

Its warm light illuminated the entire passage.

Now Arya could see everything clearly.

He continued walking until he finally reached the bottom.

There was a large underground hall.

The place was silent.

Dust covered the floor, and old furniture was scattered around.

At the end of the hall...

There was a single door.

Arya slowly walked toward it.

Then he carefully opened it.

Inside was a room.

It looked like someone had once lived there.

There was a bed, a chair, a bookshelf, and a wooden table.

Everything was covered in dust.

It looked like no one had entered this room for a very long time.

There was a chair... and on the chair, a skeleton was sitting there.

It looked like someone who had been sitting for a long time.

Maybe the house owner... or someone else who came here long ago.

Bones were dry and old, covered with dust, like time itself had erased everything from it.

The skeleton leaned slightly on the chair, still facing forward as if it was reading or waiting for something even in death.

The room felt heavy and silent.

Arya stood still for a moment, watching it carefully.

On top of the table...

Arya noticed a notebook.

He walked over and picked it up.

The notebook was covered in thick dust.

He gently wiped it clean with his hand.

As the dust disappeared...

He noticed the cover had become old and worn.

Several insects had even made nests around it.

Arya removed them before slowly opening the notebook.

It was the diary of the owner of this house.

The owner had died a long time ago.

Inside...

Everything was written.

Why he had lived here.

Why he had built this house.

And how he had died.
