Viewers couldn’t see Zephyr’s system messages, and thus they had no idea that Zephyr had actually gained a buff that helped him gain immunity to the attacks of those so-called ’Photon Worms’ that were raining down on the ash desert like beams of light!

Thus, to everyone, it seemed like Zephyr had tanked the laser beam with his body alone!

’So these laser beams are actually living creatures that are beyond a normal human’s comprehension...’

Looking at those laser beams, it was easy to mistake them for real lasers, but the truth was far from that.

These laser beams were in fact strange worms, and their bodies were similar to light’s photon particles; they had immense speed and power similar to an actual light particle, but they were also living creatures.

’Fill your stomach and lie flat... it was a hint that was reminding me to eat the meat of that snake and lie flat like that snake was lying on the ash desert before it attacked me!!’

The very moment this bizarre rain of laser beams began and it became clear that this desert was a massive death trap, Zephyr felt it odd that there was a snake living in this ash desert where it was raining laser beams every single day.

And logically speaking, if something can live and survive in a harsh environment, then that being must have developed some kind of biological adaptation to resist the harsh environment.

The hint given by the system cleared Zephyr’s doubt!

The snake monster was capable of resisting the attacks of these photon worms, as it had some kind of resistance to them.

Eating the meat of that snake and then lying flat without moving was the main ’key’ to surviving this death trap.

’I guess if I move, I would be consciously targeted by these photon worms so it’s better to stay in one place and not expose myself to them...’

Thick ash and greyish sand flew everywhere in the air as massive chunks of it got blasted up into the sky by the relentless bombardment of the photon worms.

Zephyr even noticed that unlike other places that were facing irregular bombardment, the silver spearhead was being bombarded the most.

’These Photon Worms... they can really target things that they don’t like... it seems they don’t like that spearhead that can reflect them away because it’s made up of silver...’

’Sigh... my luck was so bad that out of the entire desert I was standing on the single spot where the bombardment was the most concentrated...’

’Thankfully I am tanky, or I would have been reduced to crushed and burned meat by now...’

Just when Zephyr was about to take a sigh of relief that he had found a method to survive this rain of death, a sudden change happened. 𝕗𝐫𝐞𝕖𝕨𝐞𝗯𝚗𝕠𝘃𝐞𝚕.𝐜𝗼𝚖

Zephyr’s body shivered slightly as his danger alarms started ringing in his heart.

For the entire night, Zephyr never got to meet a single monster or another snake after the first one, but to his bad luck, just when he was stuck in a difficult spot, a gigantic monstrosity came crawling straight in this direction.

’You gotta be kidding me!? I feel like that the goddess of luck has some personal beef with me or something!’

’Why did it have to be now of all times!?’

A gigantic snake-like monstrosity whose eyeball alone was twice as big as Zephyr’s entire body appeared in Zephyr’s sight.

Despite its entire body being constantly bombarded by hundreds of photon worms, the snake monster didn’t seem to be bothered by it in the slightest.

The monster crawled at a fast speed and hissed in the air with its long snake tongue as the scales all over its body started shining and changing patterns each time it got bombarded by a photon worm.

As the monstrosity approached closer and closer, Zephyr even started hearing strange, distorted screams coming straight from those weird scales all over the body of the snake.

To his shock, many of those scales had distorted humanoid facial patterns on them, and all of them seemed to be screaming in pain and terror!

*OHHHH!!* *AHHH!!!* *AHHHH!!!* *AHHHH!!!*

Just listening to that distorted sound of terror was enough to cause immense mental pain to Zephyr, but with sheer grit and determination, Zephyr managed to keep his body from moving or even flinching in the slightest.

Just from the sheer pressure and aura radiating from that monster’s body, Zephyr could instinctively feel that it was not a good idea to confront it head-on.

Even if the monster likely won’t be able to do much damage to his tanky body, it might perhaps swallow him alive, and that would be even more horrible, as he might get stuck inside the monster’s stomach with no way out!

Thus, it was better to believe in the power of ’perfect stealth’ and pretend to be air.

"Help~ Help~ Someone Help Me~"

To Zephyr’s horror, the gigantic monstrosity opened its mouth and started screaming for help in a human girl’s voice!

Hearing that insanely accurate mimicry, Zephyr’s heart shuddered, but he still didn’t move a single inch.

*Slihter* *Slither*

The monster kept mimicking different voices; first it tried a girl’s voice, then it tried a baby’s crying voice, and it even tried a helpless old man’s voice before it finally stopped!

The monster was extremely patient; it kept baiting its prey for more than fifteen minutes with various different voices, all the while being just a few meters away from Zephyr’s location!

Just when Zephyr was at his limits, the gigantic snake monster finally gave up and left.
