While a fierce debate was ongoing inside the comment section as the viewers were speculating about various things and were also talking about the bizarreness of the snake monster earlier, Zephyr kept lying down on the ground for a long while.

It was not that he was frozen in fear or anything; it’s just that the photon worm bombardment hadn’t stopped yet, and they were still falling down continuously from the sky just like raindrops!

’I nearly got caught... thankfully that monster didn’t notice me lying on the ground just a few meters away from it; otherwise, it could have easily swallowed me whole!’

The bizarre snake monster was not only immune to the photon worm bombardment; it seemed like it was actually gaining its energy and power from being hit by those photon worms and absorbing them into its body.

Moreover, its scales had eerie humanoid facial patterns that kept screaming crazily.

’The most horrific part is that it’s actually smart enough to lure its prey using mimicry! It can use humanoid voices as bait!’

’Don’t tell me that it’s the type of monster that can learn things from its prey after it eats something...’

The humanoid facial patterns on its scales seem to indicate that the monster had likely eaten humans before.

And if the monster is capable of adapting at a rapid pace according to what it has eaten, it is indeed possible for the monster to gain enhanced intelligence and trap-laying capabilities from the humans it has eaten before.

While Zephyr was busy thinking about various things in his head, the photon worm bombardment finally stopped after an entire hour of continuous and relentless carpet bombing!

Zephyr got up from the ground and sat down as he took deep breaths to calm his beating heart down.

After using the monster meat to gain a buff, Zephyr had managed to tank the photon worm attacks, but his clothes were almost fully burned away, and only a small part was left intact.

Thankfully, the livestream had the ability to blur the livestream and censor the stream automatically; otherwise, his little brother would have been broadcast live to the entire world by now.

"Ugh, I need to find new clothes..."

As Zephyr was lying with his face facing the ground, his clothes were burned from the back, but the side that was buried below him remained mostly intact; nonetheless, his clothes were horribly damaged.

Ignoring the people going crazy over his exposed physique in the comments, Zephyr looked around and managed to find a broken scale of the massive monster.

The broken scale alone was almost as big as Zephyr in size, and as it seemed very tough, Zephyr decided to take it.

"The food I had is gone as it got covered in that molten silver... but this scale can help me just like that food buff..."

"These snake monsters living in this desert of ash seem to be immune to that laser beam bombardment; I can use its scale like a shield to defend myself against the next laser beam rain..."

The snake monster was massive, and it was not odd that it shed a few scales here and there after being constantly bombarded by so many laser beams.

The scales that got broken off by the photon worms were likely old scales that were more susceptible to damage and were thus useless to the snake monster, but for Zephyr, these scales were nothing less than gems right now!

"That strange human face pattern... it’s not visible on this one... does it disappear once the scale detaches from the body?"

It was pointless to try to make sense of the biology of an eldritch horror monster, as these kinds of creatures simply did not function by the same rules as humans, so Zephyr didn’t bother thinking too much about why the facial pattern disappeared.

"Let’s go; I should make as much distance as possible from that snake so as not to get caught off-guard by it again..."

With a newfound look of determination on his face, Zephyr continued his journey once again!
