Ignoring the clash of newly formed organizations happening in the comment section of his livestream.

Zephyr glanced at his system message log and realized that when he was busy dealing with Xinran, he gained a lot of BP and now had enough to do a new lottery pull.

[BP: 10,358]

’Unfortunately, I didn’t gain any guaranteed pull chances after the fight with Xinran... likely because the battle ended in a draw...’ 𝕗𝕣𝐞𝐞𝘄𝐞𝚋𝚗𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹.𝚌𝕠𝚖

Zephyr almost lost his life in that battle, and if not for the fact that Xinran was careless and broke her teeth while trying to bite him, she could have actually won the battle.

She might not have been able to bite him and eat him, but Zephyr was fully sure in his heart that if the battle hadn’t ended in the way it did and if she hadn’t been careless because of her excitement and recklessness, she might not have lost.

She could have just sealed him with her blood magic or she could have forced him to starve to death before finally eating him.

Moreover, she even had a space ring; perhaps she also had some kind of powerful weapon or artifact stored inside that could be used to deal with Zephyr.

Anything could have gone wrong due to just a small deviation; the only reason Zephyr managed to make the battle’s outcome a draw was because of Xinran’s carelessness. If she attacks him again, she will be well prepared.

’I don’t like this feeling of being at someone else’s mercy... I need to get stronger.’

Comparing himself, who has only been in this world for a few days at most, to Xinran, who’s been training for decades and has been living in this dangerous land for almost a hundred years, was indeed quite unfair.

But Zephyr did not have time to waste.

Seeing Xinran’s overwhelming combat power, Zephyr realized that strength mattered a lot in this dangerous world.

If he could hold as much power as her, he would be able to run everywhere carefree just like her and would be able to find a way back home eventually.

’The power to kill a giant with a mere flick of a finger... it’s fascinating.’

Xinran could not only kill; she could control entire armies with her blood magic and could create as many subordinates as she wanted to.

’It’s a shame that I can’t sense mana, or I would have liked to learn these amazing magic spells too...’

Zephyr had tried everything in the past few days when he was wandering around in the town alone.

He had tried to meditate and even tried to hang himself upside down like those ancient sages from the stories who seemed to have gained enlightenment by hanging upside down from trees.

He even tried to analyze the magical properties of his armor with great focus in hope of finding some trace of mana, but to his dismay, regardless of what Zephyr tried, it seemed like he really couldn’t sense mana at all!

Aside from that strange sensation he felt from the pressure of those monsters outside before, Zephyr couldn’t sense anything, neither mana nor miasma.

’Now that I think about it... every time my heart trembled and I felt a chill when I encountered a monster in the sea of ash outside...’

’Was it because my body was instinctively reacting to the presence of miasma from those monster’s bodies?’

’Well, Xinran did say that miasma affects people more easily... perhaps it’s difficult to sense mana and you need some kind of talent or something like that for it...’

Zephyr could instinctively sense that gaining mana control would lead him to a completely new realm, and he would be able to protect himself more easily from the dangers of this world.

But the problem was that he didn’t know where to get started.

Thinking about various things in his mind, Zephyr glanced at the sealed coffin and spoke,

"I have to dig that big chicken out from the rubble of the hut; also, I have to explore some other houses, so I will be off. I will come back by evening to cook the meal."

With that said, Zephyr left the place and continued sorting out all the information that he had gotten from Xinran about the Virentia Continent.

After he left, the place remained silent for a while, but then the coffin opened slightly, and two big eyes peeked outside from the narrow opening.

"That bast*rd! He really left!? Ugh, how can someone be so dense! I wanted him to keep consoling me! Idiot! Can’t even understand something so simple! Hmph!"

Just when Xinran was busy complaining, she suddenly sensed a shift in the flow of mana and miasma in the surroundings, causing her to look in the direction of the big stone house located in the central area of the town.

"Ah! I almost forgot about that! Ugh, Idiot Zeph! Because of his infuriating words, I almost lost the sight of my own goals!"

"Ugh, I will have to work extra hard now... wait... He’s been searching for water, right? I can ask him to tag along with me to that place, and when I save him from danger, he will realize my charm! Kekeke~ I am so smart~"

"Hehe, just you wait, little Zephy; this young lady will surely make you regret ignoring her! Hmph!"

Ignorant of the fact that someone was creating plans against him behind his back, Zephyr dragged the dead chicken out of the rubble only to realize that it was pierced in several places by those wooden fragments of the collapsed hut.

"Ugh... now I will have to get all that sorted too... sigh, I hate doing extra work; if only I had something like telekinesis, I could have done all this without moving a single finger!"

Suddenly, Zephyr felt a weird sensation from the air and instinctively glanced in the direction of the giant stone house near the center of the town.

’Hmm? This sensation again? Is something dangerous going on inside that place?’
