The crowd was in uproar. Just the mention of the Purifying Demonic Lotus Flame was enough to rattle every cultivator’s nerves. Even knowing how elusive and destructive this Heavenly Flame was, the fire of desire in their hearts refused to fade. The Pure Lotus Demon Saint—the strongest under the heavens—had become legendary because of this very flame. In the Dou Qi Continent, what man didn’t dream of such power?

One pair after another of fervent gazes locked onto Elder Bao Shan on the auction platform, as though they could pierce his body, read his thoughts, and see for themselves if this talk about the Purifying Demonic Lotus Flame was real. Bao Shan wore a calm smile, inwardly delighted. That was precisely the reaction he wanted. The sheepskin scroll was indeed related to the Purifying Demonic Lotus Flame—but only a fragment. If it were whole, who would put it up for trade?

He raised the sheepskin high, letting every hungry eye fix upon it, showing not the slightest fear of being robbed.

Of course, if a certain handsome Medicine Lord didn’t still have a moral bottom line, half the crowd here would be stripped down to their undergarments by now...

"With the reputation of Reflecting Treasure Mountain as my guarantee," Bao Shan declared with pride, "this sheepskin fragment truly conceals the secret of the Purifying Demonic Lotus Flame. However, it is incomplete and exceedingly cryptic. This old man believes that among you, there must be one destined to unveil its secret. Should that person obtain the Purifying Demonic Lotus Flame in the future, I trust you’ll remember to show my Reflecting Treasure Mountain a little kindness."

"Hahaha!" Laughter rippled through the hall, the tension at its peak. Greed and ambition flared simultaneously in every heart.

’I must be the one chosen by the Purifying Demonic Lotus Flame!’

Under his black cloak, Liu Xi smiled faintly. This fragment was his for the taking. Anyone foolish enough to compete with him could only pray they had sharper eyes in their next life.

Seeing the excitement rise, Bao Shan continued with a pleased expression, "The owner of this fragment wishes to exchange it for an 8th Tier Pill that has endured at least six-colored Pill Lightning. Highest offer wins. You may begin."

A six-colored Pill Lightning Pill—such value was immense. When Liu Xi had won the Pill Gathering Championship, even he had only drawn seven-colored Pill Lightning. But if this sheepskin truly connected to the Purifying Demonic Lotus Flame, then the price was more than fair.

Silence lingered briefly before a hoarse voice broke through: "Three 8th Tier Pills with six-colored Pill Lightning!"

The silence shattered.

"Four!"

"Six!"

"..."

The bids rose sharply, every contender burning with greed. Within minutes, the price had soared to an astonishing level.

"Nine 8th Tier Pills with six-colored Pill Lightning!"

Liu Xi sat with calm poise, utterly unhurried. After all, he had inherited every treasure from the Three Ghost Scorpion Demons—riches enough to rival sect vaults. He even had a few Pill Beasts lying around; one was an adorable little rabbit that Qing Lin often cuddled but couldn’t bring herself to eat.

Not flipping the entire auction table was already Liu Xi’s greatest mercy.

Moments later, the bidding spiked once again. "Three 8th Tier Pills with seven-colored Pill Lightning!"

"Four!"

"Five!"

"Nine!"

Nine seven-colored Pills—an outrageous sum. At that, most people began to hesitate, regaining a sliver of rationality. The air quieted once more.

That was when Liu Xi finally opened his mouth. "Three 8th Tier Pills with eight-colored Pill Lightning."

The words dropped like thunder. A collective gasp echoed through the hall—shock at his wealth, his audacity, and his absolute confidence. Nearly eighty cloaked experts froze. Only Bao Shan’s grin grew as radiant as a blooming chrysanthemum.

"This esteemed guest offers three 8th Tier Pills with eight-colored Pill Lightning. Any higher bids? Don’t miss your chance! The Purifying Demonic Lotus Flame awaits its master!"

Just then, a figure abruptly rose from his seat, his voice hoarse and heavy. "Four 8th Tier Pills with eight-colored Pill Lightning! Friend, please show me some mercy!"

An oppressive pressure surged outward, twisting the very space around Liu Xi. It held no true killing intent, but its warning was clear.

Qing Lin’s eyes flashed coldly, the three jade-like flowers in her pupils blooming faintly crimson. Liu Xi merely slipped an arm around her slender waist, pulling her back gently while he sneered, "Hmph... Five."

His voice carried like divine thunder.

Boom!

The bidder staggered backward as if struck by lightning, crashing back into his seat. Beneath the cloak, his face paled in horror—as though an ancient beast had turned its gaze upon him. That monstrous presence was vast enough to blot out the heavens; even a glimpse of its claw could rend the world apart.

The audience was struck dumb. The faintest trace of Liu Xi’s aura had left every soul trembling, minds blank with terror.

"Half Saint? No... Dou Saint?! Could even such beings be drawn here for the Purifying Demonic Lotus Flame?" someone whispered shakily.

No one answered.

Onstage, Bao Shan’s smile wavered. The suffocating silence told him no one else dared to bid. He was torn between excitement and dread—never expecting the Space Trade Fair to lure in such a powerhouse.

Good news: the Fair’s reputation would skyrocket.

Bad news: no one alive would dare compete against a Dou Saint, leaving less profit to reap.

Fortunately, this particular powerhouse seemed reasonable enough not to simply rob everyone blind.

"Since there are no further bids," Bao Shan announced swiftly, "this sheepskin fragment belongs to this honored guest. Exchange complete on the spot!"

Liu Xi chuckled. From his Storage Ring, he retrieved five jade bottles—the Three Ghost Scorpion Demons’ collection—and tossed them lightly to Bao Shan.

The old man caught them, inspected the pills, then respectfully sent the sheepskin fragment gliding toward Liu Xi.

Catching it midair, Liu Xi unfolded the parchment, studying its texture and markings. The material, cuts, and patterns perfectly matched his other three fragments. Satisfied, he smiled faintly and tucked it away. The final piece was his.

He leaned back lazily, stretching his arms. The trip to the Spatial Trade Fair was a complete success.

Bao Shan, after confirming the pills’ authenticity, exhaled in relief and bowed slightly to the crowd. "The Spatial Trade Fair is hereby concluded. Until we meet again, my friends—farewell."

With that, he turned and hurried off. Sharing space with Liu Xi felt like sharing a cage with an ancient beast—no one could breathe easy.

The pressure was simply too great.
