Alex looked surprised for a second, not expecting her to be so stubborn.

"Are you really sure about that?"

"Yes."

"You know, you’re still in the Early Realm."

"Yeah I know."

Alex couldn’t help chuckling softly.

"And you realize that that is not exactly fair."

Jade crossed her arms, and said calmly.

"I know. But the best way to improve is to fight someone stronger... Besides, if I can’t handle the pressure, then I won’t improve."

Alex looked at the stubborn woman for several seconds, before eventually, he shrugged.

"Alright then." 𝑓𝘳𝘦𝑒𝑤𝑒𝘣𝘯ℴ𝘷𝘦𝓁.𝑐𝑜𝑚

The exact moment those words left his mouth, Jade suddenly made her move. She exploded forward without any warning. Then a perfectly precise roundhouse kick sliced through the air toward his head.

Alex just calmly leaned his head backward, and watched as the insane kick, which was most definitely strong enough to easily break through a solid wall, passed inches away from his face.

But Jade didn’t stop there. The exact instant her foot touched the ground, she seamlessly flowed into another unexpected attack at a tricky angle, aiming right for his neck.

Alex waited until it was just about to touch him, and grabbed her leg. He could have easily dodged it like the first, by either bending his head low, or just stepping backward, but he needed that small contact to increase the damn Aura’s effect, since the desire meter was moving way too slow for his liking.

Just as his grip was a little bit loose, because he wanted to release her leg, Jade pulled her leg free and pushed herself backward, before suddenly rushing toward him again.

This time she transitioned into a flurry of lightning fast punches, low sweeps, and highly precise elbow strikes all aimed to quickly bring him down.

In short, she launched various kinds of attacks that, if combined with her void step ability, would make her a formidable threat to any other Early Realm Awakened out there, maybe unless the person had the ability to see seconds into the future like Doris.

Jade’s movements were incredibly fluid like flowing water, yet at the same time they carried tons of force, which was enough to smash clean through a two or maybe three meter boulder.

That was roughly the size of a car for crying out loud!

But Alex moved smoothly, dodging every single strike thrown at him with minimal effort. The more the fight went on the more Alex realized that most techniques or skills were truly useless when the Realm of the opponent was higher

That is, unless a person uses cheap shots like poison or maybe temporarily blinding the eye with sand, like how he had done to that monster in the training realm.

Ah! The training realm. He would definitely go there one of these days, to practice and maybe even perfect all the abilities he would have copied by that time. Yeah. He’ll definitely do that.

As they kept moving across the spacious room at remarkable speed, Alex made sure to occasionally let his hands make direct contact with her body.

Whenever he blocked a punch because he was too lazy to continue dodging, he would redirect her arm, or step past her side, making his fingers brush against her skin or her waist. Just to speed the Aura’s effect up.

Finally, after a prolonged amount of time, the continuous fighting and something else began to take a noticeable toll on Jade.

Her previously fast movements slowly grew slower with each passing second. Her breathing became much heavier, and her face was flushed red from both the exercise and something she just couldn’t quite name.

Alex took a quick step back and glanced at the less than subtle Desire Meter in his mind.

He nodded his head mentally, feeling once more completely satisfied with the numbers on the Meter. All the prolonged subtle touches he had made, and the close proximity inside the room were doing their damn jobs perfectly, making her more and more aroused without her even realizing it.

All of a sudden, Jade stopped completely in the middle of an attack. Her hands dropped to her sides, and she pressed her long legs tightly together.

All because what was previously a small strange heat suddenly increased and began pooling around her inner thighs, making her entire body feel weak and heavy.

And apart from that, the overwhelming feeling of wanting to throw herself straight into the delicious looking man in front of her increased until it was beginning to drive her crazy.

Her beautiful ocean blue eyes started to turn hazy as she stared at him. She just stood there, looking completely confused about why she was feeling like this.

Jade didn’t exactly understand what this strange feeling was, since she was known as the school ice goddess who always liked to stay alone, completely away from men and relationships. So she had never once in her entire life felt anything like this before.

Alex noticing her completely confused expression and the way her body was trembling, suppressed the satisfied smirk that was making its way to his face.

It shouldn’t take much long for her to finally lose herself and throw her naturally endowed body into his arms... But on a second thought, it wouldn’t be bad if he speed things up, right?

So walking forward slowly, he arrived right in front of Jade and intentionally patted her gently on the shoulder with a fake concerned face.

"Are you alright? Why did you suddenly stop mid attack?"

Jade opened her mouth to respond but the moment his hand touched her, Jade’s body involuntarily trembled from the heavenly touch, and she even let out a soft whimper for the very first time in her life.

The flush on her face deepened a bit, and she instinctively took a small step backward. Unfortunately for her, the strange heat flowing through her body refused to disappear.

If anything, it only seemed to grow stronger. Alex tilted his head slightly as he studied her, before saying softly.

"Jade?"

She opened her mouth.

"I..." But no words came out.

Everything just felt wrong or perhaps it was right. She honestly couldn’t tell anymore, it was like her brain was muddled.

Her heartbeat was becoming faster and faster by the second and the room was beginning to feel warmer all because of the man standing in front of her.

His presence felt stronger than before. And the scent coming off him was becoming increasingly difficult to ignore. She didn’t know why but she just had this urge to get closer to him.

Jade tried to put as much distance as possible between her and Alex but her body refused to listen.

Her muscles felt heavy and completely uncooperative, as if the bones inside her legs had turned into melted wax under the continuous pressure of that strange intoxicating heat.

Just as she gathered the little fragments of her willpower and prepared to at the very least stumble backward, Alex made his next move.

Oh no you don’t.

Like hell he was going to give her the chance to escape. So moving step by step, he kept his fake expression of concern perfectly locked in place as he raised his hand again and gently pressed the back of his palm right against her smooth, sweaty forehead.

"Are you sure you’re okay, Jade? You don’t look sick or anything, but your skin is burning hot right now. Maybe we should stop the training."

The moment his fingers once again made contact with her body, a massive jolt of electricity seemed to shoot straight into her brain.

The touch was completely addictive and intoxicating. Jade didn’t know why but she unconsciously raised her head, making her unfocused ocean blue eyes meet his forest green ones in a long silent stare.

At this point she didn’t know what exactly she was doing anymore. The strict, cold wall she had spent years building around her heart after her sister left the family had completely melted away, replaced entirely by an empty, desperate hunger she could no longer control.

Her gaze then dropped down to his mouth, completely transfixed by the sight of his beautiful lips. Even though she had never paid attention to any boy, she could confidently say that Alex had the best lips in a man.

They looked thin but at the same time plump. And had this pinkish tone that perfectly complemented the rest of his healthy pale skin.

Moving completely on pure instinct, Jade moved her body forward. Her heart pounded furiously against her ribcage as her plump pink lips slowly moved toward Alex’s own, seeking the ultimate relief from the burning fire inside her body.

The distance between their faces closed down to a mere inch. At this point she could now feel his warm breath against her skin, and it made her legs tighten even more.

But just as their lips were about to touch... against all possible odds, a final, desperate spark of her original personality flared up inside her mind.

Then the icy goddess persona who had spent most of her life relying on herself fought back against the fog.

With whatever tiny bit of willpower she could possibly muster from the depths of her very soul itself, Jade forcefully stopped herself at the very last second against all odds.
