CAT WARLOCK: This Darklord Feasts Upon Horror
Chapter 356: Noon Stronghold
The Ankh on Selina’s chest glowed faintly in yellow. The black diamond dot on her head spread and crawled to either side of her forehead. The black line went down to her temples and continued to her jaw, creating a crown-like pattern on her face.
It stayed like that briefly and retracted to the black dot on her forehead once she had finished her advancement.
Selina landed on the ground. She noticed her Chaos had become much denser, and her Chaos Well was also larger.
"So this is Hazard Psychic?"
She pointed her finger toward the sky. One singular purple beam shot out. She could use Nether Beam through Mater’s Chaos Pact more easily now.
The Goth girl raised her hand. Her Blade Core flew to her.
Selina pulled her Chaos into the blade and called forth her new Psycho-Blade.
A slightly curved black blade that was almost twice her size.
"Oh?!" Erin clapped her hands excitingly. "You’re so good, Selina! As expected of Big Sister!"
"Maybe. But this is not quite enough to find my parents yet."
"Actually..." The black cat stroked his whiskers. "Once you finished your midterm, it would be spring break. We can go investigate about your parents."
"Really? Won’t it be a little bit dangerous?" Selina widened her eyes. She knew better but she also secretly hoped that they would go.
"Nah. I’ll probably get all the servants to Rank-2 by then. Aurora, Crow, and Bash would definitely be Rank-3. By that time, we could probably walk the earth."
Rank-4 was still a rare occurrence so Mater doubted they would encounter any. Rank-4 beings were usually rulers like Telara or Cristina and would not leave their territory unless absolutely necessary.
Once Selina had finished with her advancement, Mater turned back to focus on the battlefield.
Tanya still needed to get the Sun Coin. And there was only one place in Sun Court where there was a Sun Coin. The Noon Stronghold, one of the most important places of the Sun Court.
To attack this place, Mater would need more than just his army of Psychics and Revenants. He planned it with Telara and would lead her own Fae Army toward the Noon Stronghold.
The enemy knew he would be coming so they would be ready. Many of his old enemies would be there.
’I should get myself ready before the battle...’
Mater was a Rank-3 Warlock now. He could use Rank-3 spells now. Rank-3 Spells had much less restrictions than the previous one, just by acquiring the Status-Lock, it allowed him to use three Rank-3 spells already.
The black cat began to sketch his new spells inside the Floor of Darkness.
The first thing he did was to upgrade Nether Beam, his main destructive ability.
"Alright. It’s time to raise you to Rank-3, my dear friend."
Mater extended his claws and began to repaint the Rank-2 Nether Beam.
Now, the painting had changed into a thick purple column that connected the earth and sky. Lightning danced around the purple column like it could destroy the world at any moment.
[Nether Homing Beam]
[Description]: You may fire a thick beam of Nether Energy at will. The Nether Beam can change its direction mid flight. You may keep an existing Nether Beam to fire continuously in exchange for more Chaos. You may combine two or more Nether Beam to fire a more powerful, single Nether Beam.
[Cost]: 1000 Chaos Point
The Nether Beam had slowly gained back the fame it had back from the days, the Destruction Beam of the Blood Warlock. It could now be charged, fire continuously, and take sharp turns whenever it liked.
’Good... Now I have proper tools of destruction. But there is more... There is one Rank-3 Spell that I love to use.’
Mater continued to sketch his second Rank-3 Spell. This one was entirely new and therefore caused an illusion to befall on the Floor of Darkness.
The Psychics pointed to the dark tree. "What is that?!"
On top of it, a large giant shadow sphere pulsed gently. It stood right next to the moons and appeared like a fourth dark moon.
[Abyssal Gate]
[Description]: You may summon a dark black hole that grows bigger by how many things it has consumed. Anything that got pulled within it would be torn apart.
[Cost]: 10,000 Chaos Point
’Yes... Good... A proper tool for large destruction! But I want more!’
Mater still had one last Rank-3 slot, his claws extended.
Another illusion befell the Floor of Darkness. This time, it was a Dragon flying around the dark tree. A long elongated dragon that was made of pure lightning.
[Lightning Beast]
[Description]: Summon a dragon made out of pure lightning. This dragon is a projection but can understand basic command. The dragon deals lightning damage to anything it touches. It can also self-destruct, causing a large explosion in a 30-meter radius.
[Cost]: 20,000 Chaos Point.
The black cat breathed heavily. He floated into the air of the Floor of Darkness. His Octagram Eyes appeared in the dark sky.
"Yes... YES! THE POWER IS MINE! MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!"
The black cat had to act delusional for a little bit before calming down.
Afterward, Mater upgraded Aurora, Crow, and Bash to their Medium Rank-2 level, Level 30. They still needed a little bit more to reach Major Rank-2, Level 40, and gained access to Rank-3 advancement.
As for the other Rank-1 servants, the only one that was ready to advance was Sparrow. Evelynn wasn’t ready yet. Solarix lacked proper willpower. And Erin was still too naive.
Mater left them alone for now.
The Blood Warlock marched for war with his Psychic Army and an army of Fae Soldiers.
The Noon Stronghold was a large fortress with many spells and rituals reinforced it. But Mater already had a way to deal with that.
The black cat flew on top of the Noon Stronghold. It had a barrier around it so even Mater couldn’t went through. But he didn’t need.
"Feast your eyes to my power, Sun Fae!"
The black cat opened its paw. A small dark sphere materialized and fell down to the barrier of the Noon Stronghold.
That wasn’t a Petrification Void. That was the Abyssal Gate. The black hole exploded once it came into contact with the barrier. It sucked in everything around it, including air, and expanded in an alarming rate. The barrier held on for now, but soon, the black hole would grow big enough to swallow the entire barrier with the Stronghold inside it.
Then, everyone would die.
Mater grinned wickedly.
