Chasing Back His Beloved Beast Husbands
Chapter 109-Anything you want
"How dare you manipulate me?"
Sseraphis’ shadow moved for the first time in days, his snake heads danced around. Shaking off the numbness from being paralyzed in place by Hadrian’s lingering spirit in his body.
Hadrian’s spirit convulsed midair. He tried his best to shake off the poison.
"Don’t waste your strength," Sseraphis’ voice dropped to a dangerously low tone. "I spent the days and night of my return secretly creating that poison just for you."
"Do you ha... have any idea wh... who you’ve just poisoned?" Hadrian intended to sound scary, but the stammer made it hard. He kept pausing mid-word because of his spirit fighting off the poison.
"You should have read up about me before you chose me for your little games," Sseraphis spoke through gritted teeth.
With Hadrian’s lingering spirit gone, his head became clear. He was able to tell the difference between fake memories and real ones. He quickly sat down to meditate and cleanse his body, mind, and soul of any interference Hadrian made in him.
"I am goi... going to kill... kill you."
"You can certainly try," the snake breathed out.
"Don’t think th..."
"I will help you get your body back, so please stop talking," He said.
Hadrian held back more retorts and threats. He, too, stopped resisting so hard and calmed down long enough to stabilise his spirit and concentrate the poison to one place so it no longer affected his whole frame.
In several breaths, Sseraphis was able to detoxify his body of any lingering black energy in his body. He cleared the effects of Hadrian’s tricks from his body, including the intrusion on his mate bond. In no time, he was able to feel his mates again.
"I am not sure about the circumstances by which he managed to get me with my guard lowered and be able to pull off such a trick but it’s made me a little less judgemental about your situation," he recalled saying, now with his head clear after a long time, he found his words to be ridiculous.
"Tsk!" He clicked his tongue. He opened his eyes and glared at Hadrian’s spirit. "I should kill off your spirit. Because of you..." he bit his lip in regret.
He forgave Nytherael, expressed understanding of his situation, and sympathised with him. They had a whole moment and even bonded over surprising Aeltharion.
Sseraphis slapped his lips. Despite knowing he wasn’t funny in his senses, they moved on their own and spared thar fox that dared to betray him.
"Charmed or not, he still betrayed me, no?" He groaned. "I too had my mind messed with and this..." he glanced at Hadrian and felt ’thing’ as a reference to Hadrian was an insult to the term itself. "He forced memories into my head and tried to get me to believe that in love with him... but my gut kept me from believing him... doesn’t Nytherael have a sixth sense!" Hr complained.
"You’re too loud."
"Then gey out!" He snapped at Hadrian. "It’s not like you’re tethered to this room or me," he got up.
The more he thought about it, the angrier he became. Being charmed dodgy justifies what Nytherael did to him and Aeltharion. Yes, it excused him for being a jerk and dumping them out of the blue but still, Nytherael believed the charm which left Sseraphis wondering if it was because deep down Nytherael had feeling for Ilyrien and was waiting for his return.
He paced back and forth. His mood for destruction increased. He felt a deep urge to burn the dynasty to the ground just to release the frustrations in his chest.
Hadrian opened his eyes. Sseraphis’ back and forth wad distracting his mind and keeping him from meditating peqcefully. "Are you always this angry?"
"Are you always losing?"
"You..."
"Did I say something wrong?" Sseraphis paused. Since Hadrian wished to be the object for him to vent his frustrations, he was more than happy to comply. "Didn’t you lose to Zarathia a thousand years ago. You lost to me when you tried to manipulate me, and you lost your body and the oak tree to Zarathia again in the present time... not to mention..."
"Stop it."
Sseraphis smiled. That look, the crazy look that meant the screws in his head were turning made Hadrisn float backwards.
"History pictures you as a scary abomination, but I think the only crazy thing about you is the credit they give you," he added, provoking Hadrian with every word.
"I had clans to crumble in my time?"
Hahaha! Sseraphis laughed. He found Hadrian’s attempt to pain himself a villain to be quite funny.
"You destroyed clans?" It wad the joke of the season to his ears. "I terrify every clan in the dynasty. Ask any beast about me and you’ll find out," he said, he didn’t mean to boast but frankly he was disappointed in Hadrian, the beast didn’t live up to his reputation at all.
"Let’s get one thing straight, I am helping you get your body back. However, my help comes with a price."
Hadrian gave him a one over look. Sseraphis was cunning and a little harder to read than most beasts. There was always another layer with him, and trust was of question between them. They had both wounded each other. So he could only play along to find out what Sseraphis wanted from him.
"Name it."
"I’ll claim myself... after I get your body back," he said.
"Didn’t you say that Zarathia is more powerful than you."
"Yes," Sseraphis walked over to the mirror. He fixed his looks once more and added, "But I didn’t say I couldn’t take her," he smirked.
He already had a plan on how he was getting Hadrian’s body back. And now that he was functioning in top form, it was only a matter of time before all was good in his life again.
"Stay put. I promise you’ll be back in your body before morning," he let out.
"Before morning?" Hadrian found smiling and happily anticipating a long awaited reunion with his body.
"Remember, my price will be pain upon completion of mission," Sseraphis was sure to remind him.
"If you get my body back, I promise you anything you heart desires," Hadrian swore.
Sseraphis smiled with his eyes. "Shouldn’t you wait until I ask you for my price before you give me your word?"
"As long a you get me my body, you can have anything you want," Hadrian repeated.
’Perfect,’ Sseraphis thought. He didn’t waste more words with him and simply walked away. There was much to do and little time to do it.
He walked down the lonely corridors of the house. He had to admit that Nytherael was good at cleaning. The whole place was spotless.
"I will have to put you to good use to make up for the past," he thought aloud.
"Sseraphis!" He heard a call. However, he didn’t stop. Instead, he sped up. Racing steps sounded behind him, and before he could flee, a hand wrapped around his and clung to him.
He stopped, his eyes lowered to the hand touching his, and he found himself short of words.
"Can I have a word before we meet the others?" Princess Sheana asked him.
"Since when are we so close that you can touch me... talk to me?"
