Chasing Back His Beloved Beast Husbands
Chapter 112-Played back
One after another, the beasts that heard the command started letting go of the visions. The effects of the curse started wearing out, and the restorations of their health began again.
"Why are their no visions like the first time?"
Nerezza was the first one to ask. Mostly for Rhysandor than herself, without knowing what was going to kill him, she had no way of stopping his death.
Fairy Zarathia wiped her hands clean. Her head lifted in her direction and she spoke, "The while purpose of tonight was to save the beasts affected by the curse of the said visions. Were you expecting something else?"
Nerezza blinked. Obviously she had expected a glimpse into the future once more and discover more about what she saw last time. She had been weighed down with the impending future that she could barely breath.
Fairy Zarathia finished wiping her hands and cast the towel aside before approaching her. She patted her shoulder and let out in a comforting tone, "This why I asked you all to step out of the safe zone and onto the exposed area," she said, her eyes looked down at the safety circle on the ground.
A safety measures for any beasts who didn’t wish to forget the vision they had seen. They had requested it before they got starred and she had complied since at the end of the day, it was their choice. She built an array to shield them from the effects of the command that forces all that were under the light to forget their visions.
She had warned them that it was best to forget what was to come because it will eat away at what was and they’ll end living for what will be than enjoying what is but they refused. Since that was their choice, she had no choice but to go along with it.
However, it was a heavy burden to carry especially if the said future wasn’t pleasant. And judging by Nerezza’s sorrow, Zarathia could instantly tell that what she foresaw wasn’t pleasant.
"You can’t find the answers you want in the light this time because it wasn’t the light that triggered the visions, it was a beast who tampered with the light last time," she said loud enough for not just her but the others to hear her too.
After she spoke, faces lowered in dejection. It wad clear that most of them had come for answers and were disappointed at not finding them.
Curiosity getting the better of her, Princess Sheana grabbed her sister, pulled her back and asked. "What was your vision about?" Her eyes were bright and full of anticipation for the answer.
"Ouch!" She flinched when a hand flicked her forehead. It wasn’t painful persay but being a dramatic being, she exaggerated her reaction. "Don’t you know that talking about the visions would lead to paralysis?" Aenyra scolded her.
Sheana pouted. She released her sister’s hand and immediately clung to Aenyra’s hand. "That hurt."
"I didn’t use force," Aenyra pushed her away.
Sheana returned without feeling bad, "But you still hurt me. You should apologize to me."
Aenyra gazed deep into her eyes and found her childish behaviour startling. "Sorry," she hurried said to get away from her and her games.
"And.."
"Fairy," Aenyra called out, ending their talk and walking away from Sheana.
Sheana looked at figure going away from her and felt her heart ache. All she had done since waking up and finding out the good news of the advancement in their relationship, she’d tried to bridge the gap between her and Aenyra.
She initiated a conversation at every turn, sought the dragoness out and thickened her skin against the unspoken rejection from Aenyra. But at the end of the day, she was only a beast and their was a limit to what she could take too.
’Will you ever be open to...’ she knew it was wishful thinking so she didn’t let her thoughts complete. She veered around and walked away.
Samahita watched the interaction and she couldn’t help but feel sad for her sister. She left to follow Sheana and be there for her.
Once the task wrapped up, Nytherael opened his eyes. He quickly turned to Zarathia. "Did it work?"
"Yes," she gave a positive response.
The smile thar blossomed from Nytherael’s face was enough to halt all eyes and put the spotlight on himself.
"I am glad that we can scratch that problem off our plates," he said, getting up.
Sseraphis opened his eyes slowly, and his lashes trembled with happiness. His face too glowed, unlike its usual ink stained skin. It was different with red hues that showed how happy he was that he was blushing.
Aeltharion got up and teleported to his side before stretching out a hand to help him up. "Why are you so happy? Should we be worried?"
"How do you feel?" Sseraphis asked him, taking his hand.
"Huh?"
"Your health, how is it?"
"It is..." Aeltharion paused. He didn’t feel tired or sickly. In fact, his former strength was slowly returning to his body. It was as though his disease was gone, and health was returning him.
"What is it?"
Nytherael approached, he hugged Aeltharion from the back, feeling relieved and happy to have fixed one problem and having less to worry about.
"What have you done?" Aeltharion asked, worried. He had the feeling the snake wasn’t up to any good before, but he dismissed it because they had something urgent to do, but now he regretted not questioning Sseraphis at that moment.
"Why are you angry?" Nytherael broke the hug. He veered around to face both beasts. "What did I miss."
"I asked you a question, venom. What did you do?"
"Me?" Sseraphis’ smile had no end. "I made a deal with a demon, and he promised that I could take whatever I wanted in return," he added.
Zarathia reached into her space to find a pill the three to thank them for the help when she felt something amiss. She searched and searched through her pouch, but the oak tree and Hadrian’s body was missing.
She recalled the uncomfortable feeling from earlier and frowned. She retraced her steps. She was in dying need to know how she lost something so important and could’ve taken it.
She had lowered her guard because all the beasts present were weaker than her. She didn’t expect one of them to be so daring as to steal from her.
"What do you mean?" Aeltharion pressed, his mood shifting to anger. "What deal?"
"What devil?" Nytherael also asked.
Sseraphis embraced them both by wrapping his hands around them. He rubbed his nose against their noses, never losing his smile.
"Have I ever told you that I don’t like being toyed with?"
"Yes, you have," they both answered cautiously.
"Well, some beast didn’t get the notice and dared to take me for a ride. Now..." His tone darkened. "I played back."
"What have you done?" It was Nytherael’s turn to be scared out of his skin.
Zarathia remembered the tea she drank. It was the only thing she had since morning and out of irritation, she had downed it without any caution and after that Sseraphis had offered to escort her and the rest was a blur before they gathered under the moon.
"Sseraphis! What have you done with Hadrian’s body?" She barked, annoyed to the core.
Sseraphis gave her a cool smile and replied, "I got you to give it back to him willingly. I didn’t have the strength to break your seal," he said lightly.
Every beast paused, shivered, and looked at him with horror, including his lovers.
"You what?" Nytherael asked. "Did you forget thar he attacked you, manipulated your memories, took you away from us, and tried to use you?" His anger flared up.
"How could you, Venom?" Disappointment covered Aeltharion’s face.
"I didn’t forget," he let out. "Relax, I know what I am doing, and trust me. He’s not..."
"SSERAPHIS NOXVEIL!" A scream resonated from inside the house. "I’M GOING TO KILL YOU!" Hadrian flew out enraged to the point that his veins were nearly exploding.
He landed on the ground, and all beasts took a fighting pose, ready to fight him and defend themselves.
"How dare you..." cough... Hadrian spat out blood. "How could..." he kept coughing up blood.
