Children of a Lesser God
Chapter 747: A Gate?
Saanvi had never been so proactive before in her life when it came to sexual intercourse, but for some reason, when it came to Laz, she couldn’t help herself. Like a caged wild animal returned to nature, Saanvi unleashed all of her desires on Laz, shocking him with her pure desire. And she enjoyed being dominated, something that seemed to both stem from her bloodline and her own desires. While her bloodline was majestic and powerful, the epitome of strength, she wanted nothing more than to be thrown around, slapped, cursed, choked and forced. The rougher Laz was, the more she desired him, the more she wanted more of it. Laz, skilled in such endeavors, took her to the edge of her limited, causing her to pass out more than once, only to awaken to more of the same.
For one with a body like hers, bruises and cuts healed quickly, so Laz had to be even harder to give her badges that would last, little bits of love left on her skin that would give her a sense of satisfaction.
One night, while he held her head against a pillow by her neck, squeezing just enough to cut off her blood flow to her brain and pounding her from behind while switching holes as though undecided by which he enjoyed more, a loud bang echoed through the halls of the base, startling everyone.
While continuing his assault, Laz spread his senses to outside the base in an effort to see what had happened. There, on one of the reinforced roofs, a large chunk of ice sat as though it had just been thrown and landed there, something that could not have normally happened. Widening his search, Laz couldn’t sense anything in the area and turned back to where the ice had landed. It was clear by the scraping that the ice had been thrown and skidded across the roof for a brief distance before coming to a stop. With nothing else around the base and the storm still raging outside, Laz turned back to what he was doing, letting loose with reckless abandon before pumping a massive load into whatever hole he was last in.
As he released the pressure on her head, Saanvi fell on her side, the gurgling from her mouth mixed with clear moans of pleasure as she panted heavily, occasionally causing bubbles of air to escape out of her gapping rear end. Not that she had much to worry about as such a thing would return to normal in no time due to her bloodline.
There was no such thing as lasting effects due to excessive usage to one such as herself.
"What... happened?" She eventually said several minutes later as her body began to recover.
"Something or someone threw a massive chunk of ice on to the roof..." Laz replied, still in the process of cleaning himself up. Normally he would slip off to the shower, but with the racket that just happened, he knew the hallways would not be empty right now, despite the late hour.
"How is .... that possible..."
"It’s not. But that’s besides the point. I’m going out to find out what I can find out. Clean yourself up and get out there soon. Make sure no one sees you."
"Yes master."
"Good girl," Laz replied with a smile before heading out, careful to ensure he went unseen.
Laz turned up to the room outside the control room. He wasn’t allowed inside and that was fine as far as he was concerned. He had a better idea what was happening outside than anything could tell them inside that room.
"Laz. You’re here lad!" Sven said, sitting in a chair across the room when he entered.
"Yeah. Heard a loud boom followed by a loud scrape right above my head. Figured I come see what happened before turning in for the night," Laz replied. Dr. Anton entered soon after, looking like he had just rushed from his lab.
"What happened?" He asked, sitting down next to Sven.
"No idea." Laz responded.
"Jun and Shelly just ran in a minute ago. The captain was already in there, doing stuff when the noise happened.
"Our instruments report that nothing is malfunctioning, so whatever the noise was, it wasn’t anything that had to do with our systems." Jun stuck her head out and reported.
"So...?" Sven asked.
"So nothing blew up or broke down," Shelly clarified, sticking her head out as well.
"Good enough for me," Laz said, standing back up and making for the door. Saanvi appeared at just this moment and Laz stepped aside, making way for her to rush in. They didn’t exchange so much as a glance as she speed by.
"What kept you?" Shelly asked.
"Didn’t think my alone time was going to be interrupted and I wasn’t going to just stop when I was so close just because something might have blown up..." Saanvi said with a smile, causing even the outgoing Shelly to go red.
"Damn girl. Didn’t think you were that open about things. I think everyone heard you," Shelly finally responded as Saanvi disappeared inside.
Laz just walked away as he was going to do anyway. He just wanted to show that he cared enough to check in, but not that he was trying to get in anyone’s way. Making his way back to his room, he scanned the outsides of the base once again, but detected nothing. He was tempted to scan to where the massive cavern was located, but decided against it. He wasn’t trying to provoke what was under there anymore than it was already feeling. This massive ice chunk might have been retaliation for his previous scan of the area when he noticed all those entities from before. If so, he needed to be more careful going forward.
Just as he was about to close his door, something caught his attention. An energy surge form a ways away shot out, hitting his senses like a ten ton hammer. He shifted his attention towards it, but found that it was in the direction of the beasts under the ice.
’You’ve got to be shitting me...’ Laz thought to himself, really wanting to take a closer look, but hesitating. He closed his door, sat down and tried hard to get his mind not to think about it. Touching the tattoo of the tree on his chest, Laz calmed himself. He didn’t need to be responsible to taking care of this world. Here... there were others he could count on.
Back in the bridge, some of the newly installed equipment had detected the surge as well, although none of them besides Saanvi could feel it.
"What’s causing that shit to go crazy?" Shelly asked, pointing at the displays that had alerts going on them. While she and Saanvi had no idea what those things were for, the captain did.
"Slight electrical surges from the atmosphere. Nothing to worry about. They just replaced them this year and these things had done this a few times," the young man said to Saanvi and Shelly while Jun was checking on the bases instrumentation.
"Yeah. Nothing wrong here," she said, confirming everything as normal.
"For an internationally funded station, you’d think they could get equipment that works," Shelly said, looking at all seismic activity and seeing nothing of note.
Saanvi, who had heard the excuse, knew that they were lying.
’Anyone who knows anything about weather would know that electrical surges are monitored in the ionosphere. There is nothing natural that would occur this far down. And besides, which... my systems actually monitor it... so what was that feeling I just had and why the hell did his shit detect it? I need to talk to Laz about this....’ Saanvi didn’t reveal the lie and kept checking her readouts.
"Anything?" The captain asked.
"All normal."
"Nothing."
"Maybe an old relay got knocked over? They don’t always remove the old ones when they put up the new ones if they think is could be used as a backup. Better to have too many than not enough," Jun suggested and everyone just took that as the case, at least on the surface they did. A falling relay wouldn’t cause that kind of noise if it got knocked over.
...
In the deep ice, a gate had just opened, one that had stay silent for many years. A man like creature walked through the door, looking around with a disdainful air before walking forward. Behind him, several people followed after him, the long cloaks clinging to their bodies showing proportions very much like a human but with some strange protrusions in places humans didn’t have any.
The one who had come in first said something to the ones following him in a language no human would recognize, it’s voice a deep rasp that made the walls shake.
Barrel after barrel of something were brought in and rolled over to the deep pits in the rock where massive bodies were frozen against the walls, their scale covered eyes closed as whatever body was connected to the massive necks stretched out of sight beneath the ground.
Without needing orders, the barrels began to be emptied into the pits, their bright red contents spill down one after another as each barrel was emptied just as the next one was rolled into place and opened, repeating the process.
The person who began the operation walked over to a lectern that was standing in the middle of the room. It laid down a book, several packages and what looked like folded pieces of parchment before looking up, only to see a massive sculpture in the ice above it that seemed to startle it, causing it to make several hand gestures before bowing low, all of the arrogance gone out from it’s form, replaced instead with several small shakes of it’s body.
Another form arrived beside him, bowed low to the floor and stayed there, not daring to move.
As the first person finally stood, it made one last hand gesture before turning to the still bowing form and said several things in a voice that was much quieter and more respectful than before. The figure stood, nodded and then bowed once as the first figure retreated back, taking it’s turn to reenter the door, giving one last look back at the sculpture as it did before disappearing through space.
