Clumsy Beast, Keep Your Paws Off
Chapter 619: Was She Hungry for Dumplings… Or Him?
Su Qinglan was surprisingly calm. Compared to the nervous atmosphere around her, she looked almost too relaxed.
She was sitting comfortably on the bed with her back resting against the wall while one hand gently rubbed her swollen stomach.
Meanwhile, Han Jue was the complete opposite. Ever since hearing that she was going to give birth, he had become unbelievably tense.
In just a few minutes, he had already prepared blankets, warm water, clean cloth, medicine, and everything else he could think of.
Now he was standing beside the bed and staring at her huge belly. His eyes were fixed on her stomach so intensely that it looked like he expected a cub to pop out at any second.
Su Qinglan rested her cheek on her palm and stared back at him.
Han Jue didn’t even notice. His gaze remained glued to her stomach.
Su Qinglan puffed her cheeks. This man... Was he planning to keep staring until the babies came out?
After a while, she licked her lips.
"Han Jue."
Immediately, Han Jue’s ears perked up.
"Does it hurt?"
"Are the babies coming?"
Questions immediately poured out. Su Qinglan blinked. Then she shook her head.
"I want dumplings."
Han Jue froze.
"What?"
"Dumplings."
Han Jue looked at her stomach. Then he looked at her face. Then looked at her stomach again.
"No."
Su Qinglan immediately frowned.
"Yes."
"No."
"Yes."
Han Jue looked helpless. "You are about to give birth."
Su Qinglan immediately hugged her stomach and spoke righteously.
"Exactly."
"I’m hungry."
"How am I supposed to push your babies out if I don’t eat?"
She even patted her stomach seriously. "The babies are hungry too."
Han Jue was speechless. For a moment, he didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. Looking at her pitiful expression, however, his heart immediately softened.
Maybe she was really hungry. After all, she had been kidnapped for more than a day. Who knew whether she had eaten properly?
The more Han Jue thought about it, the more guilty he became. How could he forget such an important thing?
Without another word, he immediately turned around and rushed out of the room.
Su Qinglan blinked. Then a smile appeared on her face.
A few moments later, sounds came from the kitchen.
Han Jue had already started cooking. Since there wasn’t much time, his movements were incredibly fast. First, he took out fresh cabbage and several vegetables from their storage.
Fortunately, their house was always well stocked. Ever since Su Qinglan arrived, she had made sure there was always enough food at home.
Han Jue quickly washed the vegetables clean before placing them on the chopping board.
Tak.

The stone knife moved rapidly. Soon the cabbage was chopped into fine pieces. Then came carrots, green vegetables, and a few fragrant herbs.
Everything was cut evenly and placed into a large bowl. After that, Han Jue brought out fresh beast meat. He washed it carefully before chopping it into small pieces. The stone knife rose and fell repeatedly.
Before long, the meat was finely minced. He added it to the bowl together with the vegetables. Then came the seasonings. A pinch of salt, and ground fragrant herbs. A few special seasonings collected from the forest.
Soon a rich aroma began filling the kitchen.
Han Jue mixed everything thoroughly with chopsticks until the filling became perfectly combined.
Only then did he look toward the flour container. His brows furrowed. Not much flour remained.
Still, it was enough. He poured it into a basin before adding water.
Soon he was kneading the dough. His strong hands worked quickly. The dough gradually became smooth and elastic. After letting it rest briefly, he rolled it into long strips and cut it into small pieces.
Each piece was flattened carefully into thin wrappers. Then he began wrapping the dumplings. His fingers moved skillfully. Scoop filling, fold wrapper, and press edges. Soon a beautiful dumpling was ready.
Before long, beautiful dumplings were neatly arranged on the tray.
The three cubs had followed him into the kitchen at some point. The moment they smelled the delicious aroma, all three pairs of eyes lit up.
"Father."
"Smells good."
"Can we eat?"
Han Jue immediately shook his head.
"No."
The three cubs instantly wilted.
Han Jue remained firm. "It’s for your mother. She would eat first."
The cubs looked disappointed but obediently nodded. Their mother and little brother-sister were more important.
Seeing their pitiful faces, Han Jue finally softened a little. He took out several pieces of dried meat.
"Here."
The cubs immediately brightened. Each one received a piece. At their age, their sharp little canines had already grown out. Chewing dried meat was perfect for them.
Soon the kitchen was filled with the sound of tiny crunches.
Meanwhile, Han Jue placed the dumplings into the steamer. Steam slowly rose into the air. The delicious fragrance quickly spread throughout the courtyard.
Back inside the bedroom, Su Qinglan had already smelled it. Her eyes immediately brightened. She carefully climbed off the bed and peeked through the doorway.
From there, she could clearly see Han Jue busy working in the kitchen. His long white hair was tied behind him. His expression was serious as he focused on cooking.
For a moment, the scene looked strangely warm.
Su Qinglan quietly leaned against the doorframe. A smile slowly appeared on her lips. Honestly, a hardworking man really was handsome. Especially when he was cooking for her.
Her gaze slowly wandered over Han Jue’s tall figure. Then her eyes narrowed slightly.
Suddenly she wasn’t sure anymore.
Was she hungry for the dumplings...
Or was she hungry for Han Jue?
The thought made her lips curl upward.
Meanwhile, Han Jue sensed her gaze and looked up. The moment their eyes met, Su Qinglan smiled brightly at him.
Han Jue paused. For a brief moment, he completely forgot about the dumplings. Then his ears slowly turned very red.
Su Qinglan immediately laughed. It seemed her wolf husband was still just as easy to tease as ever.
