Con-man instructions on how to live as a Noble
Chapter 67 - Deal
"..without reducing your potency."
Silas coughed when he heard those words uttered by Lynn. He didn’t expect the demure lady like her would be this perverted.
Lynn ignored him and stared at Eli.
Eli shook his head again. "If you really want the tears.."
He placed his hand on Silas’s shoulder and patted him. He then shook firmly and smiled.
"Convince him. He is the boss right now."
Lynn finally turned her attention on him and gave Eli a look. She immediately turned away.
"He is weaker than you. It doesn’t make any sense for him to lead you." Lynn said as if she just made a statement. For her, strength was the measurement.
Strength alone puts you on the higher up. Her view was shaped by her experience and she remained firm about it.
"I am not that weak." Silas muttered.
"Yes, you are, Silas." Eli chuckled. "Speak to him."
Lynn let out a long sigh and turned again to Silas. She walked up to him quickly and stopped when she reached the arm length away from him.
She looked up and down, observing Silas with great care. For the first time, Silas managed to look at her and he must say, Lynn was a beautiful woman.
"I want the tears."
"Why?" He asked immediately. Lynn’s answer was one of the mysteries he stuck on. Flux and Lynn’s relationship was solved in the game timeline but now, they needed to work on.
And he wanted to know the reason for the pair’s separation.
Lynn frowned, creating a crease on her flawless forehead.
"It is.... I don’t want to say."
"Too bad." Silas shrugged and turned around. He looked back with his head tilted to the side and said. "This is the first step for getting the treasure. If your pride gets in your way, I don’t think you deserve the thing you are looking for."
Silas took a step but his face collided with the invisible wall.
’Barrier?’ Before he could finish his thought, his body moved and faced Lynn. She stared at his firmness and willingness to push.
"It is a personal reason."
"I am not stupid, Miss Lynn. I can see it is a personal reason." Silas said, breaking free of the binding.
It was interesting to see her usage of the gift. Her control was flawless and he saw the sweat pouring behind it.
"Let me guess. Is it related to your lover?"
She frowned and intensified the force behind the binding. Like a snake, it warped around him with strength. Air escaped from him and he struggled. He heard ribs cracked under the pressure.
"Stop." A sharp voice cut through the tension. Immediately, the pressure around Silas vanished.
Silas fell down on his knees and coughed, gathering himself. He looked up and saw Eli, waving him.
"Don’t kill him." He asked.
"I won’t." Lynn said. "I just lost my control for a bit. Sorry."
Even her apology was not directed at Silas. He smiled with a bitter expression and stood up, fixing his collar. "Looks like I hit a mark."
Lynn shot him a furious glance and nodded slowly. "You are right, it is a personal reason. Very personal." She paused.
"It is between me and Flux but considering your vile request, I will say. I will say it. I want to get pregnant."
"Huh?" Silas was taken back by her reveal. Even Roland beside him was also shook. Eli was the same, wearing a bored expression on his face, acting like an idiot.
"Pregnant? You mean, you want a baby."
Lynn nodded. "What? I am old and elves are difficult species to reproduce." 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝙬𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝒎
"Old? I understand about the race but you..." Silas pointed at her. "Old? I found it hard to believe. You look to be in your early 30s."
"I will take your words as a compliment." Lynn said. "I am over 800. Due to that and my race, my reproductive system was gone. I can’t get pregnant. I wish to use the tears to form my body and gain myself a healthy womb fitted for the pregnancy."
"Can’t you use the Dragon blood?"
"I can and I am sure it will work but my body will be tainted by Dragonic force. My children will suffer from it and be hunted down by Dragon for their tainted blood." Lynn explained.
"Surely, you can kill the dragon."
"I can but not forever. And I don’t want to let my children live this way of life, even if they got the dragon blood and the talent for magic. Besides, I can’t kill the elder dragon."
"There must be another way right?" Silas frowned. Sure, losing your reproductive system was harsh for most people but Lynn was a powerful witch. She was a weapon to the powerful organization.
There was no doubt that with her information network, she could treat herself.
"Yes but I don’t want it. I can pray to the goddess but I don’t want to give my life. I want my body to return to its original state. The only thing that can do is Tears." Lynn said.
"And why is Flux here to destroy the tears?"
"I don’t know. I don’t care." Lynn answered.
"I can help you with that." Silas said after giving it a thought.
"You can give me the tears?"
Silas smiled and didn’t answer. Or course not. He won’t waste the precious treasure for that. Her dragon blood can do it well.
The only problem was the lingering effect of Tainted aura. But he could help deal with that. He got a perfect solution.
The problem was whether to tell her the information or not. He contemplated, pondering the decision hard.
"Alright. But we will have a deal." Silas said.
"What kind? I can kill as long as I have the means or strength necessary. Or you need money?"
"No. No. My deal is simple. You will finish today." Silas said and pointed at the various mountain peaks.
"Stop everyone here from advancing."
"You want me to stay like a guard dog."
"I didn’t call you a dog." Silas said. "Can you do it? You are the second strongest right? Can’t you stop them?"
"I can but can you promise me?"
Silas nodded and placed his right on his beating heart. "I swear on the name of mine and with the witness of spirits that I will cure your reproductive system."
"Don’t call it like that." Lynn said harshly and turned around.
Silas sighed as he watched the old witch move and stand.
"Eli, I also want you to stay here and guard." Silas said, calling the elf.
