Chapter 102: 102 | The Wrong Enemy

While Kaul siblings were on a ride bantering and laughing, a serious meeting was taking place in a villa of Mumbai.

A room bathed in cream colored light and silence. A round-table with 6 chairs around it, 5 chairs occupied, everybody lost in their own thoughts.

Suddenly, the gate opened as a middle-aged man walked in and sat on the empty chair.

"What took you so long?" A man wearing red shirt spoke.

"I was stuck in traffic, I had already said to change the time of meeting but nobody listened," the man wearing a Nehru jacket, seated on 6th chair spoke.

"Why didn’t you use that flying car of your?" a woman in her late thirties wearing a blue blouse and grey skirt spoke.

"Minister ji, must be trying to hide his assets. Who knows if that lunatic StarWalker may chose him for his next game," A man wearing deep blue t-shirt interrupted.

"Enough small talk, let’s get to the point of our gathering," Minister ji in Nehru jacket spoke in stern tone.

"Yes, however, before we express our thoughts. Minister ji, can you tell us latest details of investigation?" the man in brown three-piece suit asked.

"There’s no body or person to investigate besides image of that shiny dreadful mask. Up until late morning, they weren’t even sure what happened to the bodies." He shared.

"But after watching StarWalker’s today’s stream, where he used fire skills. They are thinking he burned the bodies of Jai and his secretary, that’s it," he finished sharing.

"What of Jai’s son, he was left alive?" the man in brown suit asked.

"He is in a coma, council is looking for hunter with psychic talent but they are rarer than water in desert." Minister ji answered. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶

"Okay, any strength estimation of StarWalker?" the man in brown suit questioned.

"At least S-rank, could be beyond, no conclusive information," Minister ji replied.

"Does Hunter’s Council have anything concrete?" blue t-shirt man spoke in high tone.

"I think we are missing main point here, did you find out Minister ji why Council officials didn’t responded immediately even after the video went viral. They almost took an hour to respond," the woman in blue blouse raised a concern.

Suddenly Minister ji started sweating as he remembered the warning of Executive Hunter Aryan. He spoke solemnly.

"In that matter, I won’t say anything except repeat the word of Executive Hunter. He said, in case of StarWalker you can be lucky and come out unscathed."

"However, if you tried to butt in this particular matter, next day you will be gone from this world and no one would raise a peep about you."

The room become extremely quiet after listening to his threat, they could even hear each other breathing. They all felt like they were stuck between a rock and a hard place, damage was inevitable.

The man in brown suit cleared his throat as he spoke, "Let’s stick to StarWalker, I say we go underground reduce over extra legal indulgence and let this turbulent time pass over."

They all listened silently without giving much away.

"I say we go all out, try to root out and punish this StarWalker, that way we can not only push our activities but even be fearless about it." The man in red shirt voiced his opinion.

"I think we should try making a contact with StarWalker, cut him in our business and make him out sentinel," the woman in blue blouse suggested.

"I somewhat agree with Anil," the man in blue t-shirt pointed at the man in red shirt, "but I think we should take a noble approach and make it about law and pit him against people."

"I concur with Anil and Jack, we should use our strength and wit to put a stop to this. Before this rope could extend and tighten around our neck, we should put so many knots that this rope can never become our noose." Minister ji spoke metaphorically.

Now everyone’s eyes turned to the 6th person in the room, the one who hadn’t spoke since entering the room.

The man wearing stainless steel rimmed spectacles straightened himself before speaking, "What if this was just a one-off time event? He did mentioned, he went after Jai because he tried to hurt his friend’s sister."

"What if we are just being paranoid and he hadn’t even thought about us? And then if we push him, he may come after us next."

"I suggest staying put and let him act first while we remain ready for him. If he comes, we will bury him, if he won’t then we are scot free to do as we please." He shared his reasoning.

"We can’t exactly wait for him to attack, didn’t you see. He entered the office of a S-rank guildmaster and killed him with extreme cruelty like it was a game to him." The man in blue t-shirt, Jack, retorted.

"Jack is right JP, we can’t sit and wait especially in a world where strong rules. We guys can’t exactly fight against him with our low rank talents. We should use our strength, political manipulation to safeguard ourselves," Minister ji also responded.

At the mention of low rank talent, JP, the man in spectacles almost scoffed but controlled himself at last moment, though nobody caught on.

"Ahh..." JP sighed, "You guys are right too, we should take action according to our strength. I am in favour of Anil, Jack and Minister ji," he agreed.

"Well, we have 4 in majority, so our plan of action is decided. We use politics to trap him then crush him with strength," the man in brown suit stated.

"Let’s see how you play our game, StarWalker," Jack spoke with a cruel glint in his eyes.

They fine–tuned their plan to trap StarWalker not knowing that the man in question truly didn’t cared about them and was just returning after a joyride with his sister.

Reyansh gradually parked the Aether ride in front of his home. Vanya exited the car and entered the home. To please Vanya, instead of ordering in, they ate outside.

After Vanya left the car, Reyansh looked at Lyrielle, immersed in watching his video with concentration.

’Are you sure you don’t want to eat something?’ he asked.

’No, food is not a mandatory supplement for me, so don’t worry.’ Lyrielle replied, her eyes still glued to the screen in front of her.

’Okay, let’s go then,’ he nodded as Lyrielle flew on to his shoulder.

Reyansh stepped into his house, he glanced around the house, knowing that he will not be here tomorrow. He took a deep breath then exhaled softly.

’This house has memories of when I lost my father, my mother fallen ill and all my struggles. But it’s also the same house where I awaken as a Hunter and gained special perks. So, all in all, it was okay,’ he thought.

After spending a second more over this thought, he walked to the gate of Vanya’s room. He knocked once, Vanya’s voice came from the room.

"Yes brother?"

"Sleep in time, you to wake up early tomorrow. I have a important work for you." He replied.

"Hmm...okay, goodnight brother," she responded.

"Goodnight."

Reyansh turned back towards his room. He sat on his bed just as entered the room, Lyrielle sat in the side, doing her work.

"Well, now there’s only one work left in today’s list, let’s create a Blood puppet," he stated as his eyes glowed with curiosity.
