Death Flag System: I Became An Extra From The Author Who Killed Me!
Chapter 65: Cillian’s POV
A few minutes ago...
’Fuck, fuck, fuck.’
Cillian kept cursing inwardly as he jogged toward the group, who were heading toward the entangled bone pillars, specifically the bone cocoon where they believed Aster and the Berserk Captain were fighting.
"Wait a moment! Just wait!"
Cillian continued running to catch up with Vin and Phillip, with Clove and Kash behind them. They were slightly farther away because they were trying to catch up with the others who had already gone ahead.
Once Cillian got close enough for them to hear him clearly, he shouted again at the top of his lungs.
"Wait, you idiots!"
As if they finally heard him, the four looked back and saw Cillian pointing at the other group of people that was ahead of them.
Both Phillip and Vin all tried to call the other group that is far ahead.
"Hey! Get back!"
"Cillian is calling you all back!"
Cillian, who saw that the other five were coming back, had to stop them since they were already too far away.
"Wait! They can just stay there! We’re just going to shout at each other to communicate!"
"Can you decide what you want to do?!"
"Stop screaming at me! I’ll beat you if you continue shouting!"
Cillian shouted back towards Clove, who made some sense, before he approached the nearest group and started ordering people around.
"Listen! The first group will come to the top of the cocoon! Willow and Melissa will try to distract the Berserk Captain and make that monster come to the middle area of the bone cocoon! It doesn’t matter what height he is, as long as the bastard is in the middle!
"Gary Rofter and Dary Rofter, you will be in charge of giving me the signal if both the sorcerers manage to distract the Berserk Captain! Ivy! You will tell Aster to stay away from the middle! Signal the twins if he’s in the way! You guys stay away, too! Go, do it now!"
The five closest to the bone cocoon that the Berserk Captain had created to trap Aster were the first to move, sprinting toward it. The others didn’t know exactly what Cillian was planning, but it was better than trying to help Aster with no chance of winning.
If Cillian was speaking, he must be speaking with a foolproof plan behind his back.
"What are you planning?"
Vin asked in a serious tone, as Cillian was the one planning it, which only meant that he had a surefire way to help Aster inside the bone cocoon while trying to do something with the Berserk Captain inside.
"I’ll kill the Berserk Captain."
The four looked completely stunned.
"I don’t have time to discuss with you guys! You four, you will watch how the Rofter Twins react since they are going to be giving the signal. You will also give me a real-time update as we find the right place to do this."
Phillip couldn’t help but find the plan unreliable, wanting to ask questions after Cillian suddenly started ordering everyone around and saying he would kill the Captain. Yet before anyone could react, the group saw Cillian running away.
"Hurry up!"
Cillian didn’t want them wasting time on a meaningless discussion, so he pushed them to just follow his plan.
Because of this, they followed Cillian while updating him on what was happening with the group near the bone cocoon.
"They have started to climb up!"
Cillian moved around, glancing at the cocoon to find the right angle for his attack, believing that it would guarantee to work.
It had to be the perfect angle, one where fewer entangled bone pillars blocked the path of his target from the bone cocoon surrounding Aster.
"They have already reached the top, Cillian! They are making a hole now!"
Cillian continued circling around the cocoon before, a few seconds later, he managed to land in the best spot.
’This is it...’
Cillian stood at a point where he could see the bone cocoon clearly, while it had fewer stretched and entangled bone pillars that could act as a wall.
"They seem to be taking a long time to get in."
"Trust them."
Cillian, who was pretty sure that they would make it work, replied and began to think about himself.
’How do I swing a sword?’
Cillian had read countless webnovels for years in his past life, yet he only got the words and visuals about them.
He had never swung a sword in his entire life.
The previous Cillian, who’s only good at using a bow, didn’t give any knowledge about using a sword, as he could only watch from afar through Fergus.
It only meant that if he had to learn to swing a sword, it had to be now.
"Mimicry."
Reserved mimicked Storage: Jack Trade’s voice, [Buddy [Two]: Buddy Hop], [Sword of Chaos [Three]: Sword of Wrath]
Cillian watched the screen impatiently as he glanced towards the top of the cocoon where the group was still struggling to enter.
Trusting them to do the end of their job, Cillian practiced a simple downward slash as if he were carrying the sword.
The group behind him could only watch in confusion until they informed him that the group had successfully entered the cocoon.
"Cillian, the three had entered!"
Cillian gave a small nod.
[A scent of Death is within you.]
Cillian watched the screen that continued to annoy him every time it had the chance to do so, and it had happened a lot today.
But he chose to ignore it.
’Hah! So many things happened, but it’s been just a long fucking day.’
Cillian motioned his hand in a slashing motion, even though there was no sword in his hand yet. He was only preparing, knowing that it was going to happen almost instantaneously.
He waited and waited some more.
After some time, Vin shouted.
"I think Gary is signaling something...! Yeah, I think you’re good to go, Cillian! Do whatever you can, you think you’re doing!"
Once he heard that shout coming from Vin, Cillian didn’t hesitate to call the mimicked ability he had just copied earlier.
"Sword of Wrath!"
A sinister, dark red great sword manifested within Cillian’s clenched fists. His eyes changed to a dark red color, carrying a chilling aura, as his hand became infected by the malicious intent that seemed to originate from somewhere beyond human understanding.
It was nothing but a frightening experience.
The sword in his hand remained raised above him, unable to slash it down as a sharp pain tore through his head, making it feel as though it was about to split apart.
"This is how he endured all of this?! Motherfucking suicidal bastard!"
He readjusted his stance before shouting as he gathered all of his strength.
’It’s okay if it’s sloppy! I don’t need a perfect downward slash! Just accurate enough to not hurt the group inside!’
Cillian made a downward slash by copying Aster’s movement with his head.
It was a sloppy form with a sloppy handling in his hands.
Yet, he did it.
Baaaaaang—!
The Sword of Wrath’s aura passed through the entangled bone pillars, destroying them. Its destructive wave force continued forward until it reached the bone cocoon, cutting through it and splitting it in half.
"!!!"
The group that was watching from behind couldn’t help but be shocked and speechless by what they had just witnessed.
Even Cillian couldn’t believe the overwhelming strength of the sword either. However, he had no time to be distracted by the power he had borrowed when he saw that the Berserk Captain was still alive after the attack.
Just as he was about to make another slashing motion, a piercing pain entered his head before a series of warnings appeared right beside him.
