Chapter 132: Chapter 132: Three Fallen

BOOOOM, BOOOOM, BOOOOM. Adrian immediately heard three explosions in different parts of the city.

What followed were police cars and firefighters rushing to the place. He grabbed Suzie and teleported.

Suzie couldn’t see the spatial realm like Adrian could. She didn’t need to hold her breath like he had.

To her, they just disappeared and appeared somewhere else instantly. In that spatial realm, her body was as light as wind.

They appeared near the place where one of those explosions occurred. It was the gallery.

He saw the two werewolves sent to guard the place, they were carrying bags sealed so tight not even smell could escape.

Adrian knew those bags had vampire heads. They approached him and were about to kneel but he stopped them.

Doing that here would just draw attention, they stood with the crowd behind a yellow police tape watching.

" What happened?" He asked them through pack call. The moment muscular man tried to kneel again but Suzie stopped him.

She told him if he did that again, she would kill him. He nodded and didn’t try to kneel to him anymore.

" Boss, I’m sorry we were careless, the vampires weren’t anything to boast about, they were weak.

We thought if we took them down then everything would be fine." Adrian was confused.

That made sense to him, taking down their enemies should’ve been enough to protect this place no?

Suzie saw his confusion and explained, " It’s not that simple my lord, the vampires didn’t have to win.

They just needed to blow this place up, all they had to do was set the bomb to explode before they could be stopped."

He finally understood, in that case the werewolves couldn’t be blamed, the playing field was not equal to begin with.

It wasn’t a matter of strength, preventing a bomb from going off would require them to be beyond powerful in comparison to their enemies.

While they were certainly stronger, it wasn’t to the point of vampires being unable to even react.

He took Suzie and left leaving the two werewolves standing there. " Do you think the boss is mad?" Lexie asked.

The big guy shook his head, " The lord is benevolent, he will not fault us for our failure.."

She nodded, they turned around and walked off leaving the police confused about the headless corpses who had their hearts ripped out.

Adrian and Suzie checked out the other three locations. The same thing had happened there.

Three of the five locations had been lost, he decided to check the other two. One was guarded by two men.

Both immediately went on their knees upon seeing Adrian. " Lord Adrian, lady Suzie." They greeted.

Adrian simply nodded, he looked around and saw 8 vampire corpses with obvious spear wounds.

The two werewolves didn’t even have a scratch and not because of their regeneration but they weren’t wounded to begin with.

" You’ve done well, continue guarding this place." They both nodded, Suzie saw small smiles in their faces.

She was satisfied, a compliment from lord Adrian should make them smile for in her eyes, that was the greatest reward.

They teleported again to the last location where they found what he could only call mutilated corpses.

They were basically crushed to blood smudges. Adrian saw a blind woman and a swordman.

They both went on their knees like the others but the woman acted differently. She didn’t go down on one knee.

She went down on both and grabbed a rosary with both hands as if praying. Adrian ignored her strange actions.

" My lord, it’s my greatest honour to be graced by your presence. Forgive me for my failure."

The woman apologised and started crying silently as if deeply saddened, she lowered her head and her tears fell to the floor.

Adrian was confused, he didn’t know what she was apologising about so he had no idea what to forgive.

He looked at Suzie, she was admittedly smarter than him so she might figure out this strange woman.

Suzie looked around then looked at the swordman then back at the woman. She crouched in front of her.

" Naija am I correct? You need not fear for lord Adrian is benevolent, whatever you believed you’ve done wrong, it shall be forgiven."

Naija nodded with tears in her eyes. Suzie continued. " Tell me, what is it that you think you’ve done wrong."

Naija pointed without even raising her head, " I’ve wasted the precious hearts I had sworn to present to my lord.

They..they insulted my lord and in my rage I completely mangled their bodies, for that I deserve punishment."

Adrian felt his mouth twitch,’ Holy hell she’s worse than Suzie, I didn’t think that was possible.’

Suzie touched Naija’s shoulder and smiled reassuringly. " Foolish girl, you’ve done well, any who disrespect our lord doesn’t even deserve to have a complete corpse.

If it was up to me, even their souls would never find peace, raise your head high with pride.

You’re a noble werewolf and you’ve served our lord faithfully, do not be ashamed of that."

Naija just cried even more, the swordman looked uncomfortable and frankly, Adrian felt his blood chill.

’ This is giving me shivers, I’m gonna leave.’ he teleported away leaving even Suzie behind.

She understood and giggled, she knew being overly worshipped made him uncomfortable.

It’s one of the reasons he tends to avoid the other werewolves, unfortunately for him he couldn’t get rid of her.

He came back a second later carrying a box. " Give this to the other werewolves." He told her she disappeared again.

Adrian appeared next to somebody who was sound asleep. " I’m glad to see you doing your job with such diligence."

He mocked, Sam opened one eye, saw him and closed it again. " Leave me alone, I’m exhausted."

He complained, Adrian sat next to him, he conjured ice cold water above Sam and dropped it on his face.

" Damnit dude, what the hell." Sam complained and sat up straight. He still looked tired.

Sam had always been lazy but lately he was getting worse. " What’s wrong with you? You’ve been sleeping a lot lately."

Adrian asked, Sam looked at him then went back to sleep. Adrian sighed, " This lazy bastard."

" I’m not a bastard, it’s this stupid ability of mine." Sam answered but that made Adrian more confused.
