Chapter 184: Chapter 184: Cyril

While the issue of the Grieved Souls plagued the world, it wasn’t the only issue the world had.

Currently, members of the Smith family, one of the ancient families of the round table and leaders of the organisation.

Were surrounding a cave in the jungles of Mazopetia in the continent of Afraanis, they weren’t the only ones though.

With them were members of another clan of the round table, the Sithole clan, the Sithole took the front lines.

The Smith were crafters and enchanters but they used different enchanting methods than the witches.

Their methods were closer to that of the ogres but they were permanent and could only be used on non-living objects.

Another limitation was that, they could only enchant objects while creating them not after.

The Sithole clan were a warrior type clan that used fire attributed abilities. Currently leading them was a young lady.

Even though she’s considered young, that was in comparison to her lifespan as a level 4 but she was already 34 years old.

The woman’s name was Mandisa, currently she was chatting with a young man from the Smith clan.

This young man would’ve been recognised instantly by Adrian had he been here because this was Cyril.

His real name was Cyril Smith, the most talented youngster of the Smith family in the past 12 thousand years.

Eight years ago, he had sealed his own power cutting off his access to esper, this made him no different from a normal human.

Of course he was a very athletic human even though he went to great lengths to hide that as he didn’t want to draw attention.

His dream was a simple life with a beautiful woman and a sturdy job but that was shattered when Annie left him.

This forced him back to his family and with abundant resources and support from his family.

He managed to rise all the way to peak of level 4, he was just short of gaining active control of his esper and forming a domain.

Cyril smiled throughout the entire conversation but honestly he didn’t want to deal with this crazy woman.

" So Cyril, do you have a special lady yet?" She asked obviously flirting with him. He almost said no but stopped himself.

That would just encourage her to continue flirting so he nodded, in all honesty he was still in love with Annie.

But she had choses to go with those wolves instead, this really pissed him off because from what he learnt from his elders.

Trouble will follow the king of wolves, a massive war might be fought around him and she’ll be caught in the centre of that storm.

Seeing him nod, Mandisa merely giggled and stuck close to him. He sighed, had this monster not been stronger he would’ve pushed her away.

Suddenly another group showed up carrying a tablet. " We’ve confirmed it young miss, young master.

A shaggathan nest lies inside this cave and it’s large, larger than any we’ve seen so far, from the energy emissions.

There might even be a shaggathan lord inside." That made everybody paused including Cyril.

A shaggathan lord was nothing like a pack leader, for a shaggathan to earn the title of a lord, it must at least be level 7.

Cyril furrowed his brows, " That isn’t possible, this is the human world, a level 7 Gadra.

Especially one from an ancient race like the shaggathan can’t survive here, the ambient esper is too low."

" That is another issue young master, the esper energy inside this cave is dense, extremely dense."

He nodded, " If that’s the case then we might need to summon the elders, only they can deal with this."

Mandisa nodded as well, " But what exactly are they going to do, using power above level 4 in the human world.

That would just lead to disaster, it’s why it’s banned, do you think those old cronies who are suckers for rules would do that?" She asked.

" They have to, the shaggathan won’t exactly respect the rules, even if it’s power is weaker here.

It would still be a level 7 Gadra, not even a low rank Gadra, they’ll have no choice. Anyways, for now, we need to deal with this."

He waved his hand and multiple gold poles two metres tall appeared. There were eight poles in total.

There were no runes on the poles but a type of power could be felt emanating from them. This power made even Mandisa wary.

He passed the poles to eight members of his clan. " Form a perfect octagon around the cave.

Make sure the distance from adjacent poles is equal, and I mean equal, the margin of error should be no more than a centimetre."

That condition made Mandisa and members of the Sithole clan shiver, " Can they even do that?" She asked.

He nodded, " This is a team that specializes in sealing artefact, they’re trained to do this, it will be fine."

He was right, the team placed the poles exactly as he had commanded. They buried them a metre deep.

Cyril sat down and clasped his hands together, the ring and pinky fingers interlocked.

The middle, index and thumbs pressed against each other pointing up. He closed his eyes and chanted.

" Fire" a pole on the northern direction lit up with red light, the surrounding temperature rose.

" Water." The southern pole in his direction lit up with blue light, the sound of crashing waves echoed.

" Wind." The western pole lit up with green light, wind picked up causing the leafs to dance in the wind.

"Earth." The Eastern pole lit up with golden light, the ground shook like there was a small earthquake.

" Lightning." The northwest pole flickered with sparks of lightning that made the air electric.

" Lava." The northeast pole lit up with orange brown colour that boiled the air and the ground around it.

" Ice." The southwestern pole lit up with pale blue light which made the temperature drop significantly.

" Mud." The southeast pole lit up with brown light, the ground grew soft and turned to mud around it.

" Eight directional seal!" He shouted, pillars of light shit up from the poles forming an octagonal prism around the cave.

Cyril stood up, " The seal is complete, it will continuously drain the ambient esper to power itself.

This should lower the ambient esper enough to keep the shaggathan asleep for a bit longer, in the meantime, we need to contact our elders."

Mandisa nodded, " You’re right, I’ll come with you." She smiled and linked her arms around his.

He sighed, he knew he couldn’t get rid of her now.
