Chapter 175: Battle of beasts 1

"Armstronnnngggg..." A roar echoed throughout the main headquarters of the military. Inside the building was a complete mess; more than eighty percent of people inside there were vessels for the brain.

The others were trying their best to make up a narrative for the public; General Armstrong, the last remaining general on earth, watched over them with an angry face.

After getting the confirmation from Cindi that Hestia had moved to Mars successfully, Ray’s next step was simple: kill General Armstrong head-on.

The ceiling of the building beneath him exploded, and a man with a height of four meters and a mountain of muscles stood in front of him.

"You have finally come out of your nest, Blood Angel."

Ray could feel an insane amount of devil magic from somewhere on the northern side of Earth, but that was someone else’s problem.

Receiving no answer, his fists grew larger. "How do you feel now that you have destroyed humanity’s last hope?"

Ray shrugged, "No different, but killing you will be a joy." Still in human history, no one could have killed an immortal. After realizing Jade’s special power, he didn’t count her in the context. A record that he wanted to break.

"You are the worst type of person for our kind; I will kill you before you can cause any more harm to humans."

Ray smiled at the outrageous words, "Your hypocrisy is astonishing; you went against others’ free will to cage them like pets." There is no good or bad between us; whoever wins will be the good guy."

"I did what was best for them!" His foe roared with his uniform being torn apart.

The crimson star shone in Ray’s hand. "Foolish."

He had a grasp on how general magic worked; he could transform into different beasts at a time, with the limit of two at one time. Being a general meant every detail about his magic was present on the internet; the only thing Ray wondered was how turning into an immortal enhanced the magic.

Scales grew from his body, and his chest turned into a green covered with scales as two wings from an insect grew from his waist. Yellow fur and longer ears covered his face, and at last his legs turned into beetle legs.

Ray admired his form, a mixture of a crocodile, two insects, and a lion. With killing intent rising in his heart, he awaited for him to attack first.

"Nature’s door."

Nothing happened around them; the general just stood there still.

An attack was coming. Ray couldn’t see it or sense any magic, but he was sure that something was going on; his domain shouldn’t have worked like that.

His instinct told him to dodge an incoming attack, and he trusted it. His wings took him back; before he could get far away, something cut his face.

"You can sense it, Blood Angel." The general opened his mouth, showing lines of sharp teeth.

"He has gained concealment..." Ray cursed inwardly; because of his higher level, Ray couldn’t sense the concealment or use his own domain.

The general turned invisible too, while Ray sensed at least ten attacks coming for him.

"Essence of the world."

Gaining a new sense of sight, the world around Ray was like a calm sea with no wave or disturbance. "I’m inside his domain; that’s why it’s like this."

Blood gas came out of his body, filling the space, but attacks came through without making a difference in the flow of his magic; each strike hit him head-on. Ray could barely protect his vital points.

A lion’s claw came for his neck; dodging the strike, the general’s mouth bit off his shoulder, and his teeth penetrated his flesh and bones.

Without hesitation Rau cut his shoulder from the rest of his body and escaped, but his hand fell on the ground with the general turning invisible again.

Their fight continued with Ray getting hit after another hit, yet the general only showed itself when Ray was defenseless.

"Fuck..." With the attacks being immortal level, his healing abilities were greatly weaker compared to someone in his own league.

A rhino charged into his waist; the sound of bones being broken reached his ears. Before he could react, a mantis cut his wrist, followed by General waiting to crush his skull.

"Red claw!" A red claw, instead of hitting his enemy, tore apart half of his face and threw him to the side. Catching his breath, Ray escaped a whale’s bite.

"I’m getting better at sensing them, but the one who will fall first at this rate is me!" None of his attacks could land on the animal spirits; they just passed through them.

"Any last words?"

Ray’s smirk grew. "An immortal’s powers are really amazing."

A lion’s claw came for his neck once more, this time around, as it touched his skin, the crimson star piercing the claw. The attack still landed with one of his veins cut deeply.

Two rhinos charged again toward him; not being able to react, one of them crushed his left foot, with the other one carrying him toward the general’s fists.

With closed eyes, his scythe impaled his own chest; its blade went straight to the rhino’s brain.

Behind the general, an elephant’s spirit could vaguely be seen; by charging back his magic, one attack was all that he needed.

"The only time that you can be touched is when you are in touch with..." Ray had found about it from the beginning, yet it didn’t change anything.

"Farewell..." His punch pierced the air and hit Ray’s chest. "What?" His arms were shattered into many pieces, with his robe giving out a shield.

Ray’s other hand gripped his waist. "Now you can be touched!" A dark claw crumbled space as it took half of the general’s other arm with it.

The general threw Ray to the air. Healing himself, his nose recognized a smell in the lost arm: "Devil magic..."

"You can’t conceal it, and now I can see you!" Ray swung the crimson star; the real fight was just beginning.
