Demon's Lust: making a harem with lust system
Chapter 180: Bullying
"For our lady’s aid and our yearly protection from the immortals, plus the expenses of the previous military that caused our lady’s property..." Trom read through a long list of items that Cindi had put for him. "Each year 7.3 trillion dollars should be enough."
"Hmm?" Marian had lost her focus somewhere between the long list of the immortal’s demands; that number was behind her wildest imaginations. "Can we talk to Cindi herself?"
After many formal meetings, Marian had become the minister of defense with Alexanderia, the head of Jade’s personal guard. Both of them had a meeting at last with Cindi, without Jade. They doubted that the robe could protect her against her aura.
"For you, her name is Lady Cindi, and she is not interested in seeing any of you." A simple butler talked to them like they were on equal placings.
Alexanderia said with an angry frown, "These are not the details that she told us..." In their plan, after their plan, she would take Ray and leave.
"And you didn’t tell us that you were scumbag traitors."
Marian stopped Alexandria from standing. "If it’s for the announcement of Jade, it’s just for show. Both of our sides have just agreed to cut ties with one another; he broke Alexandria’s contract too if you’d like to check." Marian felt guilty for lying about such a matter, but her new duties were more important.
"Lies." Trom licked his lips. "If you don’t answer, I have to tell my lady that you are working against her interest, and 10 million ceystal that blood angel gave you two; we’d like to return it to its owner."
"But we spend it..." Alexandria’s expression became more angry with each word of his mouth. Both of them were at their immortal’s wall, yet passing it seemed impossible for both of them.
"You have one month for that, so just work it out."
"Last year the whole earth’s income was 13 trillion dollars; that’s more than half of earth’s resources, and destroying the moon is going to decrease it tremendously."
Trom took out a teleportation device out of his pocket.
"What happens if we don’t agree?"
"You can test for yourself."
Marian sighed; such a deal was hell itself, yet she had no choice. Cindi had the upper hand in all fields. "Fine, we will finish details by next week."
"My lady will send someone."
Tucking her hand into her brown hair, Marian said with a casual tone, "It’s so unprofessional to mix the personal stuff with work. In the end, Ray only cared about himself. The whole world circles around his own narcissistic personality, so we just left such a toxic person."
Without saying any words, Trom teleported out to their base.
"What should we do?" Alexanderia asked with a worried tone; they just couldn’t go out there and say they were going to give that much money yearly to the Starblaize squad.
Marian rubbed her forehead. "I don’t fucking know; maybe Jade will have a plan."
"We both know that Jade is just a normal human at this point; for fuck’s sake, all she can think of is how to help homeless people."
"Maybe that’s the type of person this planet needs."
Alexanderia sighed. "Now what?"
"I don’t fucking know. How many times do I have to tell you?" Marian snapped back with her headache getting worse, "Everything became so messy; to be honest, I don’t think we can hold the earth together. Countries will rise again in no time, and there are already rumors of us doing nothing, taking fruit of Ray’s endeavors."
"I mean, they are too; none of us even sweated..." Alexandria had mixed feelings about her relationship with Ray, yet she had agreed to follow Marian.
Marian talked with a low voice so only Alexanderia could hear her, "Maybe siding with Jade was a bad move, but I hate Mars so fucking much..."
"Is this the end of us? From now on our life will be like politicians’, planning to murder or get rid of someone." Alexanderia had a sad smile on her face. "What is the difference between us and the old military then?"
"If we want to make Earth a better place, something must be done. Someone’s hands have to get dirty."
"Then let me become an immortal."
Marian looked at her with disbelief. "If you want to die, then go on. They will kill you the moment you become an immortal; there is nothing we can do about Cindi, so it’s just better to get along with them."
"Jade won’t agree..."
"Then let her go on and face the Starblaize Squad. Although we are friends, I’m not stupid enough to kill myself for her."
Alexanderia stood up from her chair. "I will quit my status as the lead of the guards. None of you two knows what the fuck they are doing."
Marian lost her temper with her hands gripping the taller woman’s collar. "For fuck’s sake, just once, once! Have an agenda for yourself. Do you think Ray will just greet you after what we did?"
"No," Alexanderia stared into her eyes. "I will look for a way to keep the world safe from the immortals; there is no difference between them killing us and taking half of earth’s money."
"I don’t want to lose you.... You are the last one remaining for me."
"Just as you said. Something must be done!" Alexanderia’s eyes shined with confidence; there must have been a way to stop the immortals.
"Even if there is, look what happened to the king of silence; he is leagues above any of us." Trying her best to change her opinion, Marian explained everything in her mind. That’s why it was impossible.
"Ray survived five impossible situations."
"You are not him!"
Alexanderia kissed her forehead. "I can be, for you and the earth." Her heart hurt from her next words, "Goodbye, Marian."
Watching her apprentice teleport in her arms, Marian fell to her knees. "I should stay strong..." A drop of tear fell from her eye.
