After a full day of sleeping, Ray was fully functional again. Even though he had won, his body was pushed to the very limit; if the general had more time to advance his skills, Ray doubted that he could win.

He expected Cindi to be in another mansion, but the place she had chosen to stay in was the normal villa house in the middle of a crowded district.

Ringing the bell, a boy with blonde hair opened the door in an instant.

"How are you?"

Trom bowed politely. "I made you your favorite breakfast, sir; please follow me out. Ladies are awaiting you."

Ray noticed he tried to act more strict than usual. "We will catch up later." With a wink Ray followed him into the house.

Nothing stood out about the place to Ray, just a casual place for a normal family. "Guess it’s what makes it a great spot for a hiding."

In the kitchen Ray saw Cindi in her oversized pajamas eating breakfast, while next to her a woman just the perfect type for Ray had sat.

The pink-haired woman continued her words, "The thing is we both think you will win, but what about afterwards?"

"I already told you, I won’t join your squad. But we can work together." Ray took a bite of the bacon that Trom had made for him; for two months he hadn’t eaten anything; it just wasted precious time.

The pink-haired woman set aside her plate and leaned forward. "What about the goddess squad?"

Ray raised an eyebrow. "What about them?"

"Aria the monster is on a rampage currently; she has joined the frontlines of their ground personnel. To take her revenge, she has so many targets: you and Cindi. She doesn’t dare to come after Cindi, but you will be free meat for her."

"Their leader needs me, at least for now." Ray remembered the deal with Fereya from long ago. "However, what is your alternative then?"

"Join my personal squad for a couple of years until you can survive on your own in the first layer."

"Oh, I want to go to the second layer from the beginning."

Both of the immortals looked at him with disbelief. "You know what the layers are, right?"

"Yeah."

Evelyn sat back on her chair. "Well, I will see you when you run with your life."

Ray cleared his throat; he had no one on Mars for himself. Even though Cindi and he were sleeping together, she had said she was of a harem herself; making this other beauty part of her harem could help her a lot.

"But I have no place to stay; if you let me stay in your base for some time, it would be great."

"Interesting way of thinking." Cindi had thought about it many times why Ray had decided to stay in the shadows after he carried their asses: "If I were you, they would be dead by now."

"I have to leave you two lovebirds alone. See you soon." With a wink, she disappeared from the house.

Ray’s hand moved toward Cindi’s thighs. Letting the hand continue its way, she said with a wicked smile, "Your fight with the king of silence should be around one month on Mercury; until then I can stay here."

"Well, there is a lot we can do to spend time; I wonder what the owner of your harem would say, though?"

Ray’s hand went under her clothes. "Alternatives might be better."
