Chapter 96: Immortals action

Alexanderia had the worst time of her life; her lover and vice general had turned out to be one of the worst criminals in human history, and now all she could do was sit and watch how things unraveled in the festival.

The conference room, filled with three hundred people, contained the most powerful figures in the whole military. Generals in the middle and the rest standing behind them, all staring at the screen showing different parts of the battlefield that they all had lost.

"How is his soul level 8?"

Marian answered with narrowed eyes on the screen that showed Ray: "The only reasonable answer is that from a young age, a wandering soul had taken over his body."

"You are wrong." General Iri showed a picture of the tests that they had taken from him after his parents’ death: "At that time they had taken a sample of his soul; it’s the exact same as this day."

Another person continued her words: "The age that showed a big change in his behavior is around 12, long after the accident."

"The reason has nothing to do with us."

With the new sound, everyone looked around; no one had spoken any words.

One by one people started to fall into the ground, losing all consciousness. Marian cursed inwardly as she stepped forward to lend a hand to Alexandria.

"Lady Aria, why do we owe you your presence?" General Armstrong said with grinned teeth, In the whole room only seven people were still awake.

In the middle of the room, from small glitches, a figure appeared. With a long black dress, radiating an aura that caused the objects around her to break.

Alexanderia’s jaw dropped from the power the other person held; long ago, both had entered a small fight. At that time, she had thought that she could suppress her for a few minutes; now she doubted even seconds were possible.

"Things have gone beyond your control; from now on, the Goddess Squad will handle the matters." Her head turned toward Marian. "Long time no see."

"You will blow this fucking planet up." Marian pointed at the long distance. "What the hell is Scarlet doing?"

Aria ignored everyone else and moved in front of her. "That’s why I came here first; I will break the walls protecting the festival, but there must be people protecting this planet from me; that’s when you lot enter the picture." She shrugged, "And Scarlet is on a witch hunt."

General Iri, wounded by her presence being ignored, schemed: "What is that parasite inside of that boy that got your attention?"

"Who?"

Marian raised an eyebrow; if the reason was not Ray, then only one other thing remained: "You are here for the reward."

"You want to risk the planet for some magic crystals..." Alexanderia’s tone was much more aggressive than what she wanted to be.

"That’s why I’m giving you guys the chance to protect it. If you don’t want my kindness, then I guess there is always another route."

General Armstrong rose from his seat. "Lady Aria, everyone is just curious; we didn’t mean to insult you or anything. All of us will create a defense outside of the festival, but do you think that’s enough?"

Alexanderia asked Marian through their minds, "What is her level?"

"At least 22, Scarlet is much weaker, about level 11 or 12."

With even more frustration, Alexanderia tried to act calm. Compared to the rest of them, she hadn’t reached her first century.

"My preparations will take three hours; you can set up your defense by then." With that, Aria disappeared into thin air, leaving everyone with their mouths open.

Iri was the first to talk again. "Scarlet against the Witch, do we even know how many cities will burn?"

"No, General. I hate this as much as you do, but we can only do one thing, and it’s to protect the rest of this planet." General Armstrong waved her hand, opening a portal to the area around the festival. "Leave a message for the others to not follow us."

"General, I ..."

Marian was cut short by the head of the military: "Marian, please. We need your help." 𝙧𝙚𝙚𝔀𝒆𝓫𝓷𝙤𝓿𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝙤𝓶

"Iri and Alexanderia, go after the Witch; help Scarlet as fast as possible."

"Yes, General."

"Yes, General."

Marian and four other generals stepped into the portal, leaving only the two female generals behind.

"Any idea on how to find them?" Alexanderia asked the older woman.

"Scarlet’s body changes gravity on its own; checking the gravity stations around the earth should tell us where she is headed. " Iri hated and didn’t particularly like her companion, but she asked with a concern on her face, "You ok?"

"Yeah, yeah." Alexanderia shook her head: "Everything is fucked in just one day, and now we might be deleted from the face of the earth. I’m ok, really."

"There will be more time for grieving later, but for now I need you to stay focused on our mission." Iri moved in front of her. "You are a general; you understandthat?"

Faced with silence from the other party, Iri sighed and moved to finish their job in the building.

After a few minutes everyone else was still unconscious. "Let’s go; I left a message with Raol and the generals." She looked withth disgust at the four generals that were sleeping. "Currently, Scarlet is headed towards the easterntern continent."

"Send me the location."

Iri gave her the information she had received in a few minutes; the target was probably located in Shira, the biggest city in the eastern continent with more than two billion people.

Both teleported themselves in an instant to the city that the immortal’s goal was.

Iri had visited Shira a few times in the past, yet the sight in front of her was opposite of anything that she had remembered about it. From the shining city lights and buildings as tall as the sky, only a hole in the ground had remained.

"What the hell happened here?"

The answer showed itself in the sky, with a silver light and a green light clashing with each other.
