Divorce, Please: The Young Master Does Not Love Me - Chapter 178: Lady
The moment Tristan Grayson pushed open the door, Gia Miller stopped drinking. She continued to hold her wine glass, swirling it gently. After Tristan sat down, she finally raised the glass and took a dainty sip of red wine, her movements the very picture of elegance...
Cassian Jennings didn’t notice Gia Miller’s subtle change. He walked over, sat beside her, and pulled her into his embrace. A roguish smile touched his lips as he asked, "Tristan, what made you suddenly think to come find me for a drink?"
"Felt like a drink, so I came," Tristan Grayson replied nonchalantly. He reached for an unopened beer on the table, cracked it open, and took a large swig.
"Haha..." Cassian knew that if Tristan didn’t want to talk, there was no point in asking. So, he laughed and let go of Gia, reaching for a bottle of beer himself. He opened it, clinked it against Tristan’s, and took a long, deep gulp.
Gia sat quietly to the side, keeping them company.
Before long, the color began to drain from her face, and her breathing grew heavy. She quickly set her wine glass on the table, covered her mouth, and feigned a look of nausea. "Um, Cassian, I’m going to use the restroom."
"Yeah, go ahead." Cassian glanced at her briefly and nodded.
Hearing Cassian’s words, Gia grabbed her bag from the side and stumbled out of the room in a near run.
The moment she was out of the room, Gia leaned against the wall, gasping for breath. It took a long moment for her to compose herself even slightly. Her face pale, she headed for the restroom. Once inside, she frantically dug a small packet of powder out of her bag and swallowed it dry. The sickly color in her face gradually began to fade.
She looked up at her own wretched reflection in the mirror, and the hatred in her eyes burned hotter.
’It was all Amelia Avery’s fault she had become this way. She swore she would never, ever let Amelia get away with it...’
’Everything she had gone through... sooner or later, she would make Amelia experience it all.’
She splashed some water on her face, and the all-consuming hatred finally subsided a little. She touched up her makeup and curved her red lips into a confident smile. ’No matter what she became, she would never allow herself to show such an ugly side to the man she loved.’
’Tristan doesn’t seem to be in a good mood tonight. Maybe... maybe I still have a chance. Even if I can only be his for a single night, I’d be willing...’
She left the restroom area and went straight to the bar’s front desk. She told the attendant to send two dozen beers to the VIP room, giving specific instructions as to which ones were for Tristan Grayson and which were for Cassian Jennings.
Only after seeing the attendant leave the room did Gia go back inside. When she entered, she saw a group of people singing karaoke, while Tristan and Cassian were sitting together, talking. She lowered her gaze to the beers on the table, her brow furrowed. ’They’re all open already. Have they drunk them or not?’
She pulled out her phone and texted a guy in the room she was friendly with, telling him and his friends to find an excuse to leave. The guy gave Gia an okay sign from across the room, then leaned in and said a few words to the others. The whole group came over, said their goodbyes, and left.
Before long, only the three of them remained in the room. An unnatural blush crept onto Gia’s face. She leaned back against the sofa, quietly listening to the two men talk...
