Divorce, Please: The Young Master Does Not Love Me - Chapter 199: The Exchange
Tristan Grayson waited for the caregiver Henry Archer had found to arrive before leaving the hospital.
He didn’t head to the airport immediately. Instead, he had Henry Archer drive to the woman’s place first.
Staring at the ordinary residential complex, he furrowed his brow. He glanced down at the GPS location before speaking in a low voice, "Are you sure this is the place?"
"Yes. Our men saw her enter this complex with their own eyes."
’Still, he’d given her a hundred million. She shouldn’t be living in a dump like this, right?’
"Henry Archer, after I leave, have a lawyer come and transfer the villa in the Eastmere District to her. If she asks about it, tell her the house at Regalia Fields was sold and this villa was purchased with the proceeds."
"Yes, Boss!"
"Let’s head to the airport."
"Yes."
「The next morning」
Mika Summers and Jasmine Warren were woken by a knock on the door before they had even gotten out of bed.
"Honey, go get the door. Let me sleep a little longer," Jasmine mumbled. She had been working overtime all night and had no energy to get up. She reached out and patted Mika Summers, who was lying beside her.
"Okay." Mika sat up, rubbing the sleep from her eyes. She threw back the covers, got out of bed, and went to open the door.
When she pulled the door open and saw a strange man standing there, her sleepiness vanished. "Can I help you?" she asked, a little surprised.
"Are you Ms. Mika Summers?"
"Yes, I am. Why?" Mika looked at the man before her, feeling uneasy and wary.
’No one knew she was staying at Jasmine’s place. So how did this man know she was here, and how did he know her name?’
The man gave a slight smile. "Ms. Summers, my name is Philip Jensen. I’m Mr. Grayson’s private lawyer. He sent me."
Hearing the name "Mr. Grayson" made Mika even more uneasy, and her tone grew sharp. "What did he send you here for?"
"Please don’t be alarmed, Ms. Summers. I mean you no harm. I’m simply here to deliver something to you on Mr. Grayson’s behalf." As he spoke, Philip Jensen raised his right hand and gestured with the document he was holding.
"What is it?"
"It’s the deed to a villa in the Eastmere District. And here are the keys," Philip Jensen said, pulling a key fob from his pocket.
Seeing the items in Philip Jensen’s hand, her uneasiness was replaced by scorn. "Why are you giving this to me? Mr. Grayson and I are finished."
"Well, the house at Regalia Fields was sold, and this villa was purchased with the proceeds. Therefore, Ms. Summers, it rightfully belongs to you."
Philip Jensen explained patiently, but Mika was in no mood to listen.
All she knew was that she wanted no further connection to Tristan Grayson, and she certainly didn’t want to take anything else from him.
Just as Mika was about to refuse, a figure darted over and snatched the items from Philip Jensen’s hands. Scolding Mika as if she’d lost her mind, she yelled, "Mika, are you an idiot? It’s a villa! You’d be a fool not to take it when it’s free!"
"In that case, Ms. Summers, I’ll take my leave." Philip Jensen breathed a sigh of relief. If he hadn’t managed to give her the villa, his job would have been on the line.
"Go on, then," Jasmine Warren said, waving him away impatiently.
After the lawyer left, Mika turned and sank onto the sofa. "Jasmine, you told me I needed to forget him. So why did you make me take his things?" Besides, this new villa was bought with the money from the house she used to live in.
An indescribable pain welled up in her heart.
She had lived in that home for three years. And even though it held so many unhappy memories, she couldn’t help but feel sad... because it had been her and Tristan’s home.
