Chapter 215: Chapter 215: Convenient

The woman said nothing, simply lifting a hand to pull down her mask, revealing a pale little face.

Mika’s eyes widened in astonishment at the sight of the woman. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝚠𝚎𝚋𝗻𝗼𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝚘𝐦

The woman was pleased with Mika’s reaction. Her lips curled into a smirk as she chuckled softly. "So, sister-in-law, you do remember me."

"What happened to you? Are you sick?" Of course Mika remembered her. They had only met once, but the woman had struck her as utterly stunning.

She never imagined that a woman as enchanting as a siren could end up in this state.

Gia Miller gave a bitter smile. "Sister-in-law, would you mind stepping outside to talk? I’ll tell you why I’ve ended up like this."

For some reason, Mika’s heart began to race at Gia’s words. A sense of unease grew stronger and stronger. She shook her head and said apologetically, "I’m sorry, it’s not a good time for me." And it truly wasn’t. It wasn’t just that she didn’t want to go out with Gia; she was also in a hurry to pick up her prescription and get home to rest. She’d been out for most of the day, and after everything that had just happened upstairs, she was mentally and physically exhausted.

"Hah..." Gia scoffed, her smile full of contempt. She pulled a small knife from her pocket, twirling it deftly in her hand. Suddenly, she lunged forward, grabbing Mika and pressing the blade against her stomach. "How about now, sister-in-law? Is it convenient *now*?"

The sudden pressure against her stomach made her heart leap into her throat. Her voice trembled with terror as she nodded frantically. "Yes, yes, it’s convenient. J-just don’t hurt my baby!"

"What are you doing? Let her go!" Jasmine Warren’s own fear spiked when she saw the knife against Mika’s stomach.

Gia’s eyes grew cold and cruel as she looked at Jasmine. She let out a mocking laugh. "Heh, you want me to let her go? Then tell Tristan Grayson to come find us at the abandoned factory in Weslyn. Oh, and tell Tristan only he can come. No one else. And no police. Otherwise... I can’t guarantee his precious child won’t get hurt."

Mika trembled uncontrollably at those last words. "What are you doing? Why are you doing this to me? There’s no bad blood between us."

"Shut up!" Gia snarled, her eyes darting to the growing crowd. She shot Mika a furious glare. "If you don’t want to die, shut your mouth! And you," she said, her eyes flicking to Jasmine, "if you don’t want her to die, tell Tristan what I said. My patience is limited. If Tristan isn’t here within an hour, this woman and her baby are both dead!" With that, Gia ignored the onlookers and dragged Mika by the arm, heading straight for the hospital’s main entrance.

"Okay, okay! Don’t do anything rash! I’ll go find Tristan right now! Just don’t hurt Mika!" Jasmine’s legs had turned to jelly. This woman was insane, utterly terrifying. She had never seen such horrifying eyes in her entire life.

Gia dragged Mika all the way out of the hospital. The moment they were outside, she shoved her into a black sedan. Gia glanced at the driver and ordered coldly, "To the abandoned factory in Weslyn!"

"Yes."

Mika sat uneasily in the car, her hands twisting the fabric of her clothes. Holding back tears, her voice choked as she asked, "Why are you doing this? Why are you treating me like this?"
