Chapter 256: Chapter 256: Stopping a Car

"We’re not taking him down. We’re saving him."

Ian Shaw’s interest was suddenly piqued. He sneered, "Save him? What’s going on? Is someone setting him up?"

"Do you remember Jason Lockwood?"

"So, Jason Lockwood is the one setting him up?" Ian Shaw’s mind immediately flashed back to a few days ago. When Tristan had him drive those two women to chase after a child, the man in the other car was Jason Lockwood.

"That Jason Lockwood... he’s ruthless and incredibly calculating. It’s no surprise at all that Archie Summers fell into his hands this time."

"Tristan, I just thought of something interesting. You’re going to be shocked when you hear this."

Tristan Grayson’s brows knitted together. "What is it?"

"Archie Summers is probably the Lockwood Family’s biological son who went missing over twenty years ago."

"What did you say?"

Seeing Tristan Grayson’s disbelief, Ian Shaw raised an eyebrow smugly. "I heard it with my own two ears. You think I’m making it up?"

"In that case, he’s a dead man." If this were simply about a woman, it would be manageable. But now that Archie Summers is the Lockwood Family’s biological son, there was no way Jason Lockwood would let someone like him live.

The smile vanished from Ian Shaw’s face. His voice turned cold. "Going by Jason Lockwood’s usual methods, there’s absolutely no escape for Archie this time. Even if he isn’t killed, he’ll spend the rest of his life in prison."

"Ian Shaw, go to Austerra right now. I want you to bring Archie Summers back safe and sound!" ’As long as he’s back in Tridell, everything will be manageable.’

"Alright. This should be interesting. I don’t have many hobbies besides seeking thrills and pushing the limits." ’Getting to play a game with Jason Lockwood... a rather amusing thought...’

After Ian Shaw left with Henry Archer, Aiden Avery shot up from his chair. He crossed over to Cassian Jennings in a few quick strides, grabbed him by the collar, and threw a punch.

"You useless bastard!"

The punch snapped Cassian Jennings out of his daze. He retaliated with a kick that sent Aiden Avery sprawling to the floor. "Aiden Avery, are you fucking crazy!"

"Cassian Jennings, I swear I’m going to beat some sense into you today!" Aiden Avery scrambled up from the floor and lunged at Cassian Jennings again.

Tristan Grayson sat in his chair, watching the two men fight. He had no intention of breaking it up. Ever since that incident with Amelia Avery, the two had acted like mortal enemies, refusing to speak to one another. ’Honestly,’ he thought, ’a fight might do them some good.’

So, he locked the important documents from his desk in a drawer, picked up the key, and stood. "You two take your time. I’ll be on my way."

After leaving the office, Tristan Grayson drove to Eastmere District.

He leaned back in his seat, gazing at the distant villa where a light was still on, a bitter smile playing on his lips.

’He wasn’t even sure why he’d come. He knew he couldn’t see her, yet he’d wanted to come anyway, just to be near. Even watching from a distance like this was enough...’

In the bedroom, Mika Summers paced back and forth, holding Kiki in her arms.

"Mika, your father-in-law has already gone out to hail a cab. Try not to worry." Seeing her precious grandson crying so hard, Una Sullivan started to cry as well.

Mika Summers nodded, pressing her cheek against Kiki’s forehead. He was still burning up. "It’s all my fault. This is all my fault. He’s so little, how can he possibly endure all this?"

...

Joseph Summers had been waiting by the main road for nearly half an hour without seeing a single taxi. He really couldn’t understand it. ’Why do all these rich people have to live so far out in the middle of nowhere? Have one little emergency, and you can’t even find a cab...’
