Chapter 255: Chapter 255: Takedown

Tiana handed Kiki to Mika Summers, her eyes red-rimmed. "Sister-in-law," she said, "my brother told me to bring Kiki back to you."

"Tiana..." Mika Summers’s heart was a mess. She didn’t know what to say.

She had always assumed that once Tristan Grayson found out she’d had their child, he would definitely take the child from her. She never imagined he would actually ask Tiana to bring Kiki back.

"Sister-in-law, my brother... he isn’t really the person you think he is. I really hope you and my brother can make up, so we can all be a family again."

"Tiana, your brother and I... it’s impossible." ’How could all the pain from the past just vanish into thin air?’

"Sister-in-law..."

Seeing that Tiana was about to say more, Mika Summers quickly cut her off. "That’s enough, Tiana. You should head back. If you want to see Kiki in the future, you’re welcome to come over anytime."

p>"Sigh. Alright, I’ll be off."

"Mm."

As she watched Tiana leave, Mika Summers breathed a sigh of relief. She hugged Kiki tighter, lowered her head to press a kiss to Kiki’s cheek, and her tears began to fall uncontrollably.

’Thankfully, Tristan Grayson isn’t completely heartless. Thankfully, he sent Kiki back to me. Thankfully...’

’Kiki, I’m so, so sorry. It’s all Mommy’s fault...’

Tristan Grayson’s gaze was locked on the woman standing at the villa’s entrance. Watching her affectionate interactions with Kiki, he let out a self-mocking laugh as a pang of pain shot through his heart.

’He could have had a whole family, but now...’

"Brother, let’s go." Just then, Tiana walked over and saw Tristan staring blankly at the villa, so she prompted him quietly.

"Mm."

After Tristan Grayson dropped Tiana off at home, he went straight to the company. 𝙧𝙚𝙚𝔀𝒆𝓫𝓷𝙤𝓿𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝙤𝓶

「12:30 AM. LK Group, CEO’s Office.」

Ian Shaw yawned as he grumbled, "Tristan Grayson, you fucking better have a good reason for calling me, or you’re gonna pay for this!" ’He was at a loss for words. Every time Tristan summoned him, it was always to interrupt him in the middle of... something good. He was starting to worry that if this kept up, the man would give him ED one day!’

"Shut up! Call Cassian Jennings and ask if he’s here yet!"

"Fine, fine, I’ll shut up. So you can make the call yourself." ’He’s the one who needs me, and he’s still copping this attitude? Does he really think I’m that easy to push around?’

"Ian Shaw, drop the fucking attitude. If it wasn’t important, would I have dragged you guys over here in the middle of the night?"

Ian Shaw straightened up helplessly and sat properly. "Alright, alright, you’re the boss. Whatever you say, we’ll do."

"Hmph..."

Just as Tristan Grayson grunted in acknowledgment, the door was thrown open from the outside. The newcomer was Cassian Jennings. He was drunk, fixing his mocking, hazy eyes on Tristan. "Tristan, didn’t you give me time off? What the fuck is this, in the middle of the night?"

"You went drinking again?"

"A man’s gotta have some fun while he’s alive, right? What’s the point if you don’t drink?" Cassian Jennings said with a scornful laugh as he staggered toward the sofa.

Tristan Grayson pinched the bridge of his nose, his head starting to throb. "Henry Archer, give the file you compiled to Ian Shaw."

"Yes, sir."

Aiden Avery’s cold eyes were fixed on Cassian Jennings’s pathetic state. If Amelia hadn’t made him promise not to go after Cassian before she left, he probably would have crippled the man a hundred times over by now.

He was the type to hold a grudge, even against a man who had once been his best friend.

"There’s nothing wrong with the file," Ian said. "It’s pretty much the same as what I found before. But, Tristan, why the sudden reinvestigation into X Group? Are you really planning to take down Archie Summers?"
