Divorce, Please: The Young Master Does Not Love Me
Chapter 264: Prey
Leo Joyce yanked off the black cloth. Seeing Cassian Jennings’s still calm and composed expression, he clenched his fists and practically spat through gritted teeth, "I’ll give you that, you’ve got guts!"
With that, Leo Joyce left in a rage.
He had wanted to teach Cassian Jennings a lesson, to make him scream and cry for mercy. But Cassian Jennings wasn’t the least bit afraid, which made him lose all interest in continuing the game.
Cassian Jennings was released. He narrowed his devilish eyes, raised a hand to straighten his clothes, and reverted to his usual, roguish young-master persona before striding coolly away.
He went to the nightclub on the second floor.
Siren’s Night was Young Master Joyce’s turf. Everyone knew about the feud between him and Cassian Jennings. Furthermore, the Avery and Joyce Families had put the word out that they were cutting all ties with the Jennings Family, declaring them irreconcilable enemies. So, when Master Jennings—who was used to being fawned over wherever he went—arrived at the club, he was met with nothing but the cold shoulder.
A woman in a private booth stared intently at the man drinking by the bar. From the moment he appeared, she couldn’t take her eyes off him...
A man so devilishly charming and bewitching was clearly a fatal temptation to her. The woman tossed back her golden blonde curls, got up, and walked toward him.
She wore a wine-red leather jacket, a tight black leather miniskirt that hugged her hips, and twelve-centimeter gold high heels.
She exuded an undeniable aura of nobility and charm. Wherever she went, she was always the center of attention.
Her name was Fiona Vance, thirty-one years old. She was the President of the Vance Group and had, through her own efforts, propelled the company into the nation’s top ten enterprises within five years, mainly by focusing on real estate development and hotel management.
Cassian Jennings didn’t even notice the woman who had appeared beside him. He just kept drinking, one glass after another.
He used to be very sensitive to the scent of women’s perfume; a single whiff would always earn at least a few glances from him. But now, it seemed he’d grown averse to such fragrances, even automatically blocking them out.
Fiona Vance took a pack of cigarettes from her clutch, lit one, and began to smoke, taking one drag after another... 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦
She leaned sideways against the bar, watching Cassian Jennings intently with her bewitching eyes. In her mind, he was her prey—prey she was determined to capture...
In the three years since she had returned from Austerra, she had never met another man who could both astound her and move her heart. But tonight, her heart, which had been calm for so long, was beginning to race again.
A fiery passion was stirred within her once more...
After finishing her cigarette, the woman pulled a business card from her bag. She placed it on the bar and gently slid it over next to Cassian Jennings’s glass. Cassian stiffened slightly but only gave the card a passing glance, the corner of his mouth curling into a mocking smile. He was unmoved.
The woman’s slender fingers pulled another business card from her bag. This one was custom-made, inlaid with several small diamonds and exuding the subtle fragrance of orchids.
Cassian Jennings pushed his glass aside, a wicked smile playing on his lips. He picked the card up from the bar and glanced sideways at the woman, coldly sounding out her name. "Fiona... Vance?"
Fiona Vance smiled confidently and once again tossed her hair back. With a seductive smile, she said, "Hello, handsome. I’m Fiona Vance, President of the Vance Group. Interested in making a new friend?"
Faced with the woman’s bold and direct advance, Cassian Jennings narrowed his devilish eyes. "Of course. I never refuse a beautiful woman."
