Divorce, Please: The Young Master Does Not Love Me
Chapter 267: Long Time No See
Hearing the sound of a car crash over the phone, Tristan Grayson shoved Maggie Monroe out of his arms and headed for the door. As he walked, he reached up and yanked off his tie.
The force of the push sent Maggie Monroe sprawling to the floor. Watching Tristan Grayson leave just like that, she cried out, "Tristan Grayson, you can’t go! We haven’t even taken our wedding photos yet, you can’t leave!"
But Tristan Grayson’s heart was entirely with Mika Summers at that moment; how could he possibly listen to her and stay?
Maggie Monroe cried and screamed for a long, long time—so long that she was utterly exhausted, so long that her vision went black and she fainted...
Mika Summers hadn’t touched a car since getting her driver’s license. It was a testament to her willpower that she had forced her body to keep driving for so long.
With the car behind her relentlessly ramming her rear bumper, her head was not only swimming, but she was also growing nauseous. Thankfully, the area was remote with little traffic; otherwise, a serious accident would have been inevitable.
Seeing no vehicles ahead, she floored the gas pedal and shot forward. After a few hundred meters, she suddenly saw a truck up ahead. She abruptly let off the gas, jerked the wheel, and with a loud BANG, crashed into a stone bollard on the side of the road...
Her head slammed hard against the steering wheel, and blood immediately began to flow...
Her consciousness was slowly fading, her vision darkening...
But she still managed to lift her head. She looked at the large lake below the bollard, a pale smile tugging at her lips. With the last of her strength, she reached for the laptop beside her, opened the car window, and threw it out with all her might.
Just before she passed out, she vaguely heard a man’s curse.
"Damn it! This woman is a complete lunatic!"
The man glanced at the lake below the road and viciously kicked the stone bollard. "Quick, notify the Baron! We didn’t get the laptop. It must’ve been thrown into the lake..."
Just then, one of his subordinates behind him suddenly shouted, "Boss, this is bad! The car’s leaking gas, it’s gonna blow! We have to go!"
Hearing this, the man glanced at the woman in the car with cold eyes and a cruel sneer. "No rush. Tie her up first. She dared to ruin the Baron’s business, so let’s make sure she dies without a trace!"
"Yes, sir."
They found a rope in the car, tied Mika Summers tightly to her seat, and locked the doors from the outside before leaving, satisfied.
「The Airport」
Amelia Avery took off her sunglasses and scanned the crowd.
Just seven hours earlier, she had been sitting in a classroom during a lecture when she suddenly received a message from a friend. It said Cassian Jennings was getting married—to a woman he had known for less than three days.
’How fucking ridiculous...’
’He’d rather marry some old woman he’s known for less than three days than be with me.’
She let out a self-deprecating laugh, suppressing the bitterness and sorrow that filled her, and walked toward two familiar figures in the crowd.
Just then, the man spotted Amelia Avery and ran toward her. Reaching her side, he pulled her forcefully into his arms, his voice trembling. "You little troublemaker, you’ve finally decided to come back!"
Hearing this, Amelia Avery pursed her lips into a small smile and hugged Leo Joyce back tightly, not resisting in the slightest. "Leo Joyce, long time no see!"
"You little troublemaker, if you hadn’t come back soon, I swear I was going to go to Noridia and drag you back myself!"
Tiana Grayson watched the two of them embrace, her eyes growing moist as she slowly walked toward them...
