Divorce, Please: The Young Master Does Not Love Me
Chapter 282: Disappeared
「The next day.」
Mika Summers woke up to see the man half-slumped beside her bed. Her delicate brows furrowed tightly, a knot slowly tightening in her chest.
This man gave her a very, very bad feeling. Seeing him made her inexplicably uncomfortable...
She closed her eyes and turned her head away. The feeling was so unpleasant, so unsettling, that she didn’t want to look at him.
Her slight movement caused Tristan Grayson to slowly open his eyes. He looked at the woman, still hazy with sleep.
"Are you awake?" He was fairly certain she was; he had felt her stir just now.
The sudden sound of a man’s voice behind her made her heart flutter, and she blurted out, "No!"
Tristan Grayson’s handsome brows knitted together. "Are you hungry?"
"Yes..." Hearing his question, she opened her eyes. They darted back and forth for a moment before she answered, her voice lacking confidence.
"Okay. Wait here, I’ll go out and get you something to eat."
Mika Summers’s expression fell. She immediately turned her head back and, seeing the man about to get up and leave, said anxiously, "Hey, I’m not hungry anymore." Even though this man made her uncomfortable, she didn’t want the only person she might know to leave.
"Why are you suddenly not hungry?"
"I just... I’m not hungry, that’s all. Don’t go," she said in a small, guilty voice.
Hearing this, Tristan Grayson’s handsome brows furrowed again. But then, a thought seemed to occur to him, and his brow smoothed out. The corners of his lips curved up slightly as he said softly, "Alright, I won’t go."
With that, he took out his phone and called Sheldon Rhodes, asking him to buy some food and bring it up.
Seeing that Tristan Grayson wasn’t leaving, Mika Summers felt relieved, but her stomach betrayed her with a loud RUMBLE. Her pretty eyes darted a glance at Tristan, who was sitting in the chair, watching her without a word. She felt a little wronged, and a little uneasy.
"The food will be here in a minute. Just hang in there," Tristan Grayson comforted her in a soft, amused voice.
"Mm..."
Sheldon Rhodes was fast, delivering the food in just seven minutes.
But to the waiting Mika Summers, it felt like a century.
Tristan Grayson placed the breakfast on the table, then carefully helped Mika Summers sit up, propping her against the headboard.
When Mika Summers saw Tristan Grayson about to feed her, her face flushed slightly. Feeling awkward, she said, "I can do it myself."
"Do you really think you can manage on your own right now?"
... ’He’s right, I probably can’t manage like this. But being fed by a man... it’s still a little embarrassing.’
Seeing her lower her head in silence, a complex emotion flickered in Tristan Grayson’s eyes. In a husky voice, he said, "We’re husband and wife. I’m just feeding you a meal. There’s nothing to be embarrassed about."
"Husband and wife?" His words shocked Mika Summers to the core, and her heart began to tremble.
"Yes. Come on, let’s eat."
She said nothing, but continued to watch Tristan Grayson with a probing and suspicious gaze.
In the afternoon, Caleb Grayson and his wife went to pick up Mika Summers’s parents.
Mika Summers looked at the sleeping baby in her arms, a persistent feeling of unreality washing over her. But it seemed she really was married, and she even had a child.
...
Meanwhile, at another hospital, Maggie Monroe had suddenly disappeared.
Mrs. Lane and the others had searched nearly the entire hospital but still couldn’t find Maggie Monroe.
Maggie Monroe watched the happy family scene in the hospital room, her hands clenched into tight fists. A thick hatred burned in her eyes. "I want that woman dead. I want their child dead, too. I want them all to die with me!"
