Chapter 286: Chapter 286: Fool

Inside the car, Jason Lockwood adjusted his cuffs and commanded coldly, "That woman from just now. Find out what her relationship is with Tristan Grayson and Mika Summers."

"Yes, sir." The man in the passenger seat had just replied when he spoke again, his voice sharp. "The Baron, we have an update."

"Speak."

"Archie Summers’s phone location has just pinged. It’s at the airport overpass intersection."

"Hah," Jason scoffed. "Follow them. And don’t disappoint me again."

"Understood."

’If he had the confidence to get Archie Summers out of the Lockwood Family over twenty years ago, then he was even more confident now that he could make him disappear from this world for good.’

’The Lockwood Family would always have only one son, and there would only ever be one heir: him.’

After Jasmine’s visit, the atmosphere between Mika Summers and Tristan Grayson grew strained.

Neither of them said a word.

Even when Tristan Grayson asked her something, she refused to speak to him.

Tristan Grayson sighed and finally made a call, asking someone to bring Una Sullivan over to keep Mika Summers company.

Tristan Grayson leaned against the hallway wall, chain-smoking one cigarette after another. The warm atmosphere inside the room was something he could never seem to be a part of.

Just then, his phone rang. He pulled it out, glanced at the screen, and hesitated for a few seconds before answering. As soon as the call connected, Mrs. Lane’s frantic voice came through. "Young Master Grayson, you finally answered! Miss Monroe has been missing for two days! We can’t find her anywhere."

"Missing?"

"Yes, Young Master Grayson." As she spoke, Mrs. Lane’s voice broke into a sob.

"Alright, I understand. I’ll send people to look for her right away." After hanging up, Tristan Grayson’s brow furrowed. He cast a complicated glance at the hospital room before turning to leave.

After lunch, Una Sullivan took Kiki out for a walk.

Mika Summers was left alone in the hospital room. She stared at the ceiling, her mind a complete mess as she replayed what Jasmine had said earlier that day.

Suddenly, the door was pushed open, and a woman walked in.

Mika Summers glanced over and saw it was a nurse. She didn’t pay it much mind and continued to lie in bed, lost in thought.

Suddenly, her arm was seized in a tight grip. The nurse had pulled out a large syringe and was about to plunge it into her arm.

Panicked, she threw up her other hand to grab the nurse’s arm. "What do you think you’re doing?"

"Giving you a shot, of course. Can’t you see?" The nurse gave her a gentle smile.

"I don’t need a shot! Don’t touch me." ’There was no way she was getting a shot from a needle that big.’

"Miss Summers, how will you get better if you don’t get your shot? Be a good girl now. After this, you won’t feel any pain."

The nurse’s words sent a chill down Mika Summers’s spine. She shook her head, her tone firm. "I won’t!"

"Miss Summers, you’re not being very good, are you? And those who aren’t good must be punished. Can you guess what your punishment will be?" the nurse continued, her gentle smile never wavering.

Mika Summers shook her head, but her eyes fell on the nurse’s head. Even though she was wearing a cap, Mika could tell... she was bald. ’This nurse is bald? How strange...’

Maggie Monroe chuckled and pulled a small bottle of liquid from her pocket. "Heh, if you won’t take the shot, you can drink this instead. I guarantee that once you drink this, your ’sickness’ will be cured instantly."

"Who are you?" If Mika Summers had only been suspicious before, now she was certain there was something wrong with this nurse. ’She might have lost her memory, but she wasn’t a fool.’

Seeing that Mika Summers wasn’t falling for her act, Maggie Monroe’s lips twisted into a sinister smirk. "Miss Summers, did you really lose your memory? Who am I? Why, I’m one of the good guys. I’m here to save you."
