Divorce, Please: The Young Master Does Not Love Me
Chapter 287: Greed
"I don’t need you to save me. Get away from me," Mika Summers said coldly, shaking off her hand.
Maggie Monroe rubbed her arm, her smile growing more sinister. "Miss Summers, you stole my man, stole what was rightfully mine. And you still want to keep holding on to him? Life doesn’t work that way."
"I don’t know what you’re talking about." ’When did I ever steal anything from her?’
"Oh, you’ll understand. You’ll understand very soon." Maggie Monroe sneered, raising her hand to lunge at Mika.
Mika Summers grabbed a nearby pillow to block the attack, her whole body trembling. "You lunatic! What are you doing?! I don’t even know you!"
"Don’t know me? But you know Tristan Grayson, don’t you? Mika Summers, do you really believe you’re the one he loves? Let me tell you, that’s impossible. As long as I’m around, Tristan will never, ever love you." Having missed Mika with the needle, Maggie was now utterly crazed.
"You know Tristan?"
"I know him? Of course I do! Without me, Mika, do you really think a woman like you would ever be worthy of marrying Tristan? You’re nothing but my poor, pathetic replacement."
"What are you rambling on about?" The woman’s words made Mika’s head throb with a buzzing pain.
Seeing Mika’s pained expression, Maggie’s laugh grew more triumphant and vicious. "If you don’t believe me, you can come with me to the rooftop and see for yourself."
Mika clutched her head in pain, fighting to remain calm. "I’m not going with you. Why should I?"
"Not going?" Maggie laughed mockingly, as if she’d expected this response. "If you don’t, your son and your mother just might jump from the roof."
"You psycho! What did you do?!" Hearing those words, Mika’s composure finally shattered.
"Oh, nothing much. I just happened to see them on my way here, so I had my men tie them up on the roof."
"You lunatic. You’re a complete lunatic."
"Heh. So I’m a lunatic. Are you coming with me or not?"
"I’ll go with you. Just don’t hurt them." ’True or not, she couldn’t risk her family’s safety.’
Maggie then held out a vial. "Drink this. Then we can go."
Without hesitation, Mika took the vial, twisted it open, and drank it all in one go.
’Seeing Mika drink it all, Maggie finally felt a bit of relief. But then a sudden panic seized her heart, making it hard to breathe. Still, it wasn’t her time yet. If she was going to die, she would take their entire family with her. Only then would things be truly complete.’
On the rooftop, Una Sullivan clutched Kiki, staring fearfully at the tall men standing before them.
When she saw Mika arrive, Una Sullivan burst into tears. "Mika, why are you here too?"
Before Mika could speak, Maggie shoved her hard from behind. With her injured leg, the push sent Mika sprawling to the ground.
Looking down at the fallen Mika, Maggie walked over, crouched down, and took out her phone. She opened a video and held it out for Mika to see.
The video showed a man and a woman—Tristan and Maggie. 𝒻𝑟𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝑛𝘰𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝘤𝘰𝘮
The woman was playfully asking the man to feed her. He was smiling gently as he did...
Scene after scene played out, and a wrenching pain seized Mika’s heart. It was a pain far worse than any physical ache.
Her brow furrowed in agony. Her head felt like it was about to split open, and with the pain, fragments of memory seemed to be returning, piece by piece...
"Mika, you’re just my replacement. Did you really fool yourself into thinking you could keep Tristan? Didn’t your teachers ever tell you when you were a child that greedy little kids never get a happy ending?"
