It was him!

The expressions on the faces of the crowd were strange. The sudden turn of events left them both shocked and ecstatic. If Ye Wushuang could kill Su Mu with a single strike, it meant he had the power to save them.

"We’re saved!" The crowd placed all their hopes on Ye Wushuang, and many began to shout with joy. However, their cries were answered by a barrage of terrifying attacks, annihilating the joyous cultivators one by one.

"Friend, save us!" The crowd’s faces were filled with terror as they screamed to Ye Wushuang for help. The Fiery Sun Sect disciples were too strong. Without Su Mu to worry about, the disciples were slaughtering them unopposed. Ye Wushuang was their only hope.

However, Ye Wushuang’s expression remained cold and indifferent. He just stood there quietly. ’They wanted to kill me just a moment ago, and now they expect me to save them? Do they think I’m some kind of saint?’

PFFT!

PFFT!

Figure after figure crumpled to the ground as blood flowed freely, staining the barren wasteland red. The survivors, terrified out of their wits, lashed out wildly like madmen, their hearts filled with nothing but regret.

Meanwhile, Xifeng, with his True Essence Fifth Layer strength, was far superior to the others. But now, facing three opponents of the same cultivation level, he too was in mortal danger.

Ye Wushuang observed for a moment, then his figure flashed, descending from the sky.

"Hmph. Worry about yourself first." The three True Essence Sixth Layer disciples all snorted coldly and charged at Ye Wushuang in unison. Rolling flames coalesced into a Flame Giant Tiger, which stomped through the void toward him. The Flame Power seemed to incinerate the very air, which hissed and sizzled in its wake.

Ye Wushuang’s eyes narrowed. He activated Shadow Kill, traversing the void to appear directly beside Xifeng, much to Xifeng’s astonishment.

"Focus!" Ye Wushuang called out, seeing Xifeng still in a daze. He then raised his Dragon Blood Battle Saber and charged toward two of the True Essence Fifth Layer disciples.

Meanwhile, the remaining True Essence Fifth Layer disciple fixed his gaze on Xifeng. He stretched out a hand, curling his fingers as roaring flames erupted, forming a giant fire crow. Beating its two Fire Wings, it soared through the air, intent on crushing Xifeng.

Snapping back to his senses, Xifeng knew he could no longer hold back. A flash of silver light shot out from between his brows, transforming into a massive silver net. Like a net cast across heaven and earth, it enveloped the fire crow and began to crush it.

Seizing the opportunity, his body flickered as he rapidly closed the distance. The silver net shrank, becoming a beam of silver light that pierced through the remnants of the fire crow and shot down from the sky.

When it was directly above the True Essence Fifth Layer disciple, the net suddenly expanded again, trapping him within. Xifeng immediately followed up with a flurry of attacks, and the man died before he could even scream.

When Xifeng turned to look, he saw that Ye Wushuang had already dispatched the two True Essence Fifth Layer disciples. Up in the sky, the three True Essence Sixth Layer disciples were now descending with furious killing intent.

"You bastard! How dare you kill disciples of our Fiery Sun Sect! You’re courting death!" The three were both shocked and enraged. They pressed their hands downward, and their palms, like the mouths of volcanoes, spewed forth waves of scorching heat that fell like sky-incinerating flames.

Ye Wushuang seized the moment and shot upward, looking for all the world like a moth drawn to a flame. Seeing this, the three men in the sky mocked him for his arrogance. The flames they commanded could incinerate even a Ninth-Grade Spiritual Artifact; how could a mere mortal body possibly withstand them? It was undoubtedly a suicide mission.

Without a moment’s hesitation, Ye Wushuang continued his straight ascent like a sharp arrow. He pierced through the three terrifying masses of fire, completely devouring them. His Ultimate Yang Technique activated on its own, refining the absorbed energy into his unique Sun Flame.

"Have it back!" Ye Wushuang roared. He crossed his fingers and closed his hands, then instantly opened them again. Two balls of crimson flame erupted from his palms, collided, and shot toward the three men.

"Trying to play with fire? No one is better at it than our Fiery Sun Sect." Seeing Ye Wushuang use a similar attack against them, the three men in the sky sneered. The Fiery Sun Sect specialized in Fire Element Techniques and mastery of Flame Power. For Ye Wushuang to challenge them with fire was surely a form of self-immolation!

The three men summoned a single flame, shaping it into a massive Flame Giant Sword over a hundred feet long, and brought it cleaving down.

However, the crimson flame seemed capable of burning anything. The massive Flame Giant Sword couldn’t block it; in fact, it was devoured completely before Ye Wushuang’s flame surged toward the three men.

They had played with fire and gotten burned!

In an instant, two of the men were incinerated. The third managed to dodge just in time, barely surviving, but he was left utterly terrified.

’Such terrifying flames!’

The surviving disciple’s terror hadn’t subsided. He couldn’t believe they were the ones who had played with fire and been burned. He immediately shouted to the other disciples below, "All of you, kill him together!"

BOOM!

BOOM!

The moment the words left his mouth, the Fiery Sun Sect disciples who had been besieging the crowd all charged into the sky, making a beeline for Ye Wushuang.

"More heads for the taking!" A cold smile appeared on Ye Wushuang’s face. His Dragon Blood Battle Saber sliced through the air, sending blood splashing. This terrified the remaining True Essence Sixth Layer disciple, who shot backward and fled in the direction of Flame Mountain.

The other disciples realized something was amiss and also prepared to fall back.

However, the Dragon Blood Battle Saber in Ye Wushuang’s hands wasn’t about to let them. Flashes of saber light crisscrossed the void, and with each one, a body fell, only to be drawn into his Dragon Blood Divine Cauldron. The onlookers below watched, dumbfounded.

In a matter of moments, more than a dozen Fiery Sun Sect disciples were annihilated by Ye Wushuang. He left only one alive, kicking him out of the sky and sending him crashing to the ground.

"I want to know what your Fiery Sun Sect is looking for and where the others went. Tell me, and I won’t kill you."

Ye Wushuang couldn’t be bothered to waste words and got straight to the point.

The disciple’s face was a mask of terror, but he remained silent.

"If you won’t talk, then forget it."

Ye Wushuang coldly raised his Dragon Blood Battle Saber. Like a veritable God of Slaughter, he brought it chopping down toward the disciple.

"I’ll talk! I’ll talk!" the disciple screamed in terror. He truly hadn’t expected Ye Wushuang to be so ruthlessly decisive.

Ye Wushuang pulled back his Dragon Blood Battle Saber and listened to the disciple’s explanation.

A quarter of an hour later, having learned everything he wanted to know, Ye Wushuang left the crowd behind.

He didn’t kill the disciple, but that didn’t mean the man would live. Xifeng and the others would surely finish him off.

"Ye Wushuang!"

Xifeng stared at Ye Wushuang’s retreating back and muttered the two words—a name he had just learned.

As Ye Wushuang’s figure gradually vanished from sight, the rest of the crowd did not press on. Instead, they turned back the way they came.

"Flame Mountain... Old Lord’s Furnace!"

Four hours later, Ye Wushuang’s figure appeared about a hundred li from Flame Mountain. He stared at the colossal, fiery Divine Mountain before him, its shape reminiscent of the leg of a pill furnace.

According to the disciple he’d interrogated, a legend had been passed down from before Ancient Times. Deep in the boundless starry sky, there once lived a Great Saint Sage named the Supreme Monarch!

The Supreme Monarch was the master of the Alchemy Dao. He had entered the Dao through alchemy, proven his path with alchemy, and became a Great Saint Sage. His alchemical skills were heaven-shaking and earth-shattering, unmatched throughout the Nine Heavens Domain.

It was rumored that he possessed a Heaven and Earth Divine Furnace known as the Old Lord’s Furnace!

This furnace was originally a divine vessel for alchemy, capable of refining any elixir in the world. It could bring the dead back to life, grant longevity, and reverse the very forces of Yin and Yang—a truly heaven-defying artifact.

However, for some unknown reason, this pill furnace shattered during Ancient Times. A fragment fell into a corner of the Grand Emperor Domain, where it transformed into a mountain of fire.

Later, a being of immense power severed that corner of the domain, refining it into the Earth Palace that existed today. And the legendary Flame Mountain, formed from a shard of the Old Lord’s Furnace, was the very one before him.

All of this was recorded in some of the Fiery Sun Sect’s Ancient Texts. The records also mentioned that hidden within Flame Mountain was Sun Essence and the Ultimate Yang True Fire!

It was precisely because of the Ultimate Yang True Fire that their strongest disciple, Yang Dingtian, had gathered everyone to search this place upon entering the Earth Palace.

"Ultimate Yang True Fire?"

Ye Wushuang’s brow furrowed. He felt a strange sense of coincidence, as if guided by fate. He cultivated the Ultimate Yang Technique, and now he had just heard news of the Ultimate Yang True Fire.

Although he didn’t know if the so-called Supreme Monarch and Old Lord’s Furnace truly existed, he was starting to believe in the existence of the Ultimate Yang True Fire.

Because even from a hundred li away, his Ultimate Yang Technique had begun to circulate on its own, growing incredibly active and excited.

’Could there really be Ultimate Yang True Fire on this Flame Mountain?’

Ye Wushuang wondered.
