Elder Kinston's Exclusive Sweet Wife
Chapter 1255 - 1294: Peeling Shrimp Shells
"The past has always passed," Mabel Quinn said, then took her daughter’s hand and continued, "Please arrange a room for us. I’d like to rest well with my daughter."
"Alright, I’ve already had your luggage taken to the room by the servant," Butler Kang sighed, then led the way.
The room was arranged next to the master bedroom, which Mabel Quinn naturally remembered as Kyle Kinston’s room.
Butler Kang led Mabel Quinn and her daughter into the room and said, "If you need anything, Madam, feel free to find me."
"Okay," Mabel Quinn nodded.
Before turning to leave, Butler Kang couldn’t help but say, "Madam, the young master was wrong in the past, and your six-year absence has been punishment enough for him. This time, please don’t leave him again; otherwise, he really might die."
Mabel Quinn pressed her lips together and replied, "I didn’t leave to punish him; we simply aren’t meant for each other. Besides, he seems quite healthy; hasn’t he lived just fine these past six years?"
Butler Kang opened his mouth but ultimately didn’t mention the Blood Curse, as the young master had previously instructed not to bring it up in front of Madam.
After Butler Kang left the room, Katherine Quinn, her chin up, asked confusedly, "Mommy, will Daddy die?" She somewhat understood that Grandpa Kang’s young master referred to her dad.
Mabel Quinn only noticed her daughter’s two little eyebrows nearly knotted together, and her face clearly displayed concern.
"He won’t; your daddy won’t die," Mabel Quinn said. She understood somewhat that previously she had lied to her daughter, saying Daddy had gone to heaven, which later made her fearful even after Kyle Kinston appeared, afraid Daddy would be gone again.
The little one finally relaxed her brows and smiled upon hearing this.
Mabel Quinn gave her daughter a bath, changed her clothes, and while tidying the luggage, discovered that from the room’s window, one could see the Osmanthus Tree in the backyard garden.
She gently lowered her eyelids; even though the tree was still there, what did it matter? It had no meaning anymore.

Butler Kang had clearly been informed of their visit in advance, preparing a lavish dinner that surprised Mabel Quinn because many dishes suited the little one’s taste.
"These were all prepared under the young master’s orders," Butler Kang said.
Mabel Quinn couldn’t help glancing at Kyle Kinston, only to find his phoenix eyes staring at her. Instantly, her heart skipped a beat, and she instinctively turned her head to help her daughter with her meal.
The little one, holding children’s chopsticks and a small spoon, ate joyfully. She was mostly able to eat by herself, but some tasks required adult assistance.
For instance, when eating shrimp, Mabel Quinn would help her daughter peel the shrimp shell; when eating fish, she’d check the meat for bones before giving it to her daughter.
Falling City, surrounded by sea on three sides, naturally had fresh and excellent seafood. The little one enjoyed eating seafood, especially liked prawns.
Mabel Quinn, therefore, busied herself peeling shrimp for her daughter, barely eating much herself.
"Let me," Kyle Kinston suddenly said and reached out to take the half-peeled shrimp from her hand. His slender fingers worked elegantly on the shrimp shells.
