Elf Kingdom: Game of the World Tree
Chapter 1535 - 955: The Path of Transcendence (Part 4): Wind_2
Even if the ones working in the command room are NPCs, they’re definitely at a fanatical level of belief. A spirit of this caliber would definitely attract a swarm of mid to low-level simping players outside.
"Simp until you have everything you desire" is quite fitting for the Elf NPCs in the "Elf Kingdom".
Tony didn’t linger and walked straight towards the captain’s position in the command room.
There, leaning against the console, was a graceful female Elf.
She wasn’t particularly outstanding in appearance among the players, but she was very pleasant to look at, with a unique charm that made it hard to look away.
Under the soft magic lamp, she was quietly looking at a heavy book, peacefully engrossed.
Tony glanced over but couldn’t see the title.
However, judging by the other books piled beside her seat, they seemed to be historical and travel books from some Plane’s Human Kingdom.
That was rare too, as most official Human Kingdoms in different Plane Worlds of the Segis Universe didn’t care much about historical records. Only some Mages or Churches would record such things, and church records were often incidental; they preferred documenting their own religious history more.
However, if you could really find similar stuff, sometimes the content could be quite fascinating.
Especially those written by Mages—it could entirely be seen as storybooks and exotic chronicles. Some food journals written by Mages who loved gastronomy could even make your mouth water.
Drawing his thoughts back, Tony took a deep breath and showed a bright smile:
"Good afternoon! Miss Feng."
Feng.
The most mysterious high-level player in "Elf Kingdom", also one of the very few beta players in the game.
She had good relations with various major NPCs, even the Black Dragon King Mairrel, who was normally very proud and only willing to talk amicably with Little Xian Miao, could talk and laugh with her.
Those legends in the Elf Forest all had been in contact with her.
In the entire "Elf Kingdom," besides the number one simp Li Mu, she’s the only one who managed that.
But, what she’s most known for is her fondness for mentoring new players.
When Tony completed the ascension mission in the Dawn World, he had received her guidance.
At that time, he was hesitating whether to specialize in defense or ranger, and in the end, Feng gave him excellent suggestions and chose a more suitable weapon specialization based on his personal habits.
And later, Tony was able to stand out among the numerous players, partly because of that.
She specifically suggested a development path that belonged to him, and Tony, by simply following it step by step, quickly surpassed those who joined the game earlier than him.
His being in the top 5,000 high-level players on the server is greatly credited to Feng.
So... he has always respected this mysterious female player from Tianchao, seeing her as a mentor in the game.
Oh, this player is also nicknamed "Mentor" in "Elf Kingdom", and many people seek advice from her in her personal space, including some who rank even higher than Tony.
On a side note, Feng’s overall ranking among the game’s players is seventh on the whole server.
This is because she doesn’t grind much and has a low contribution rank, which affects her overall evaluation; otherwise... Tony believes she could possibly compete for number one.
Upon hearing Tony’s voice, Feng gently closed the book.
She lifted her head, gave a slight smile, and nodded gracefully.
Tony was almost spellbound.
Seriously, why do some people’s gestures and demeanor as Elf Chosen Ones appear so elegant and noble, exuding a fresh and sacred beauty that makes one feel self-conscious?
Yet, some people, who indeed have better character creation, make others want to facepalm when they speak?
Like... those folks playing Werewolf over there.
Hey, hey, hey! That girl over there! Aren’t you an Elf Chosen One! Stop yelling while gaming with your legs crossed, picking your toes!
Glancing around, Tony sighed inwardly.
Without comparisons, there is no disappointment.
He increasingly appreciated Feng’s preciousness.
In reality, she must also be a well-educated, elegant, and noblewoman!
Thinking like this, Tony became more respectful.
He smiled slightly and said:
"Miss Feng, upon returning from my mission this time, I brought back some specialties from the Kaldia Continent. Hearing this year’s Captain Freya is you, I thought of sending them to you."
The position of Captain of the Mengmeng Committee’s Space Fortress rotates annually in the gaming world, which translates to every three months in the real world.
One can apply but must undergo very harsh assessments, just meeting the requirements is enough to filter most people out.
Usually, it’s rotated among a few experienced senior players of the Mengmeng Committee.
This year, it’s Feng’s turn.
With that, Tony took out a Space Ring from his pocket, and with a jingle, a bunch of fruits and assorted snacks appeared.
All of it was food.
One of Player Feng’s known preferences is good food, something known to everyone on the server.
Another is travel.
She’s like a wandering soul among the high-level players!
Tony even suspected that the freedom-loving Feng agreed to be the fortress captain for a year mainly to joyride the fortress everywhere.
"Thank you."
Feng didn’t refuse but smiled slightly and put the gifts away.
Then, she turned around and told one side an Elf NPC nearby:
"Put all of Mr. Tony’s expenses in the fortress on my account this time."
"No! No! This is just a token of my appreciation, aren’t we friends?"
Tony quickly waved his hand.
Feng smiled slightly, not answering.
Tony sighed softly, ultimately deciding to accept.
That’s just how she is, always reciprocating naturally whenever you try to give her a gift.
But, he was accustomed to it.
Feng is a celebrity across the server with many pursuers, likely also why she never outright accepts gifts.
Of course, Tony was more about respect and didn’t mean anything else by it.
He’s somewhat of a male chauvinist, with a strong sense of protectiveness, preferring cute girls who need someone to rely on. Someone like Feng, who can handle anything by herself, commands only his respect.
Giving gifts was just a way to initiate conversation. Feng stopped reading, allowing Tony to chat with her.
They mainly talked about his various experiences in the recently merged Kaldia World and some information about the Segis World and Dawn World from her.
As a Mengmeng Committee senior, apparently a shareholder of the Heart of Nature Amway Chamber of Commerce, Feng’s information... has always been very well informed, and she enjoyed discussing such topics with other players.
"The Kaldia Continent wasn’t severely polluted. Interestingly, this world’s energy level was so low that after the cataclysm, it was less affected. Mutated monsters were quickly suppressed and eradicated by the continent’s only empire, the Kara Empire..."
"However, the Emperor died in the suppression, and the battle against the monsters drained the empire’s treasury. The whole empire soon collapsed... fractured into four, with three nobles declaring themselves emperors, leading to a warlord melee scenario."
"We landed in a nomadic tribe called Kuseet, and within about three months, we unified the faith, then helped them unite the entire continent... hey, the world was so weak, conquering the whole continent took less than half a year!"
"However, the cuisine in this world is good! You’ll definitely like it!"
"You won’t believe it, when we activated the altar, those NPCs were stunned by the Goddess’s divine miracle, kneeling all over the ground..."
Tony enthusiastically chatted with Feng, sharing his experiences in the Plane’s expansion.
And after chatting for a while, he suddenly thought and asked:
"By the way, Miss Feng, are you going to the ’Elf Kingdom’ offline meetup in Demon City next week? I’ve been on business in Tianchao these months and plan to attend."
