Elven Encounter With A Blood Seeker
Chapter 169: Runway Models
The event started and models began to grace the runway in their winter attires. Elegance, poise, and finesse were the words that echoed in Aselia’s mind as she gawked at them with awe-filled eyes.
They paraded along in high heels, their hands on their waists, oozing confidence, faces devoid of any emotions, only displaying their fashionable apparel. Upbeat music played in the background, upping the tempo of their walks and electrifying the atmosphere.
Cameras clicked, and flashes followed as several cameramen captured these moments. HDTV video cameras rolled and the event was being live broadcasted on different networks.
Aselia loved how Rivan had chosen models of all sizes to show that his brand was not limited to skinny people and she was sure they belonged to different species as well.
The designs and materials of his clothes were well-suited for the winter season. He and his team had been very meticulous about these tiny details. Fur and stylish long coats were supported by many models as they followed one another.
People watching them murmured in each other’s ears, some took notes, others nodded in approval and some just gawked at them like hungry vultures as if they were something edible.
"They walk so gracefully, Xiran," Aselia exclaimed in awe, she appeared starry-eyed.
"It’s because it’s their profession, they have been practicing this walk for years, or maybe throughout their lives, they are here because they are good at their job," Xiran added with a smile enjoying her reactions.
"Sometimes I wish I was as graceful as most girls are but then I am like meh, it’s too much work," She chuckled while shrugging her shoulders, making Xiran laugh.
"You are perfect the way you are, I won’t change a thing about you," there was so much warmth in his voice, reserved solely for her.
"Not even me being a hunter?" She tore away her gaze from the models and focused her attention on Xiran.
"Yes, I guess I will change that part," he answered with a chuckle and she followed his pursuit.
Both of them went back to watching the rest of the event unfold as they sipped the wine and munched on the snacks that lay in front of them.
The final model to walk the ramp was one of the leading actresses of the Druhias Continent. She wore a floor-length red and gold silk gown with fur wrapped around her arms. Her raven hair had been arranged in a messy bun and she unlike other models wore a beautiful smile on her face as she glided on the ramp and blew flying kisses to the audience.
Aselia had seen her in numerous movies so she exclaimed: "Arisana is even prettier in real life, she is breathtaking."
"Most importantly she has a huge crush on Rivan, she requested to be his showstopper."
Xiran told Aselia with a knowing smile making her turn to him with her mouth wide open.
"Is he like you? I mean like you were," Aselia asked with an astonished look. Xiran understood what she meant and slightly laughed.
"No, he doesn’t sleep around as much as I used to do, he isn’t over his ex, so he avoids relationships and girls now. She broke his heart," Xiran confided in her.
"I know," Aselia replied taking a sip of red wine.
"You do? How?" A surprised look passed on Xiran’s face.
"Rivan told me when I went to stay with him, he seemed devastated when he talked about her," Aselia told Xiran.
"Ahh, yes. He loved her with a passion. I just want him to find happiness now with someone but he is apprehensive," Xiran spoke calmly while putting the wine glass on the table and staring ahead to where his friend had emerged on the stage with Arisana.
Rivan waved at the guests as they cheered and the whole hall erupted and stood up to give him a standing ovation. Cameras flashed as he moved forward on the ramp and accepted everyone’s praise.
Aselia clapped alongside the crowd too, glad to be part of such a successful event. Rivan took a mic and thanked everyone for attending and making this a huge success. He also thanked his models and team for working tirelessly and putting forward a top-notch event for everyone to witness.
He then requested everyone to move to the dining hall for dinner and exited the stage amidst another round of applause and shuffling of chairs. People began to make their way to the dining hall.
"Did you enjoy the event?" Xiran averted his attention to the beautiful woman beside him who still seemed entranced by the whole experience.
"Yes, I loved it, Rivan and his people have outdone themselves," Aselia answered while putting back the wine glass on the table.
"Would you like to go to the dining hall and see some of the celebrities close by? Or we can stay here and let Rivan wrap up and head over to our private party later which Rivan has arranged, or I can peel this dress off you and feast, here."
Xiran took Aselia’s hand in his and brushed his lips along her knuckles with a seductive glint in his eyes.
"No, let’s head down, we can stay for a few minutes. Just want to see how they look close by and then we can leave," Aselia suggested shaking her head at him and he sighed.
"Alright, but remember to not let go of my arm and stay close to me, I don’t trust people," Aselia nodded as Xiran picked up her mask and adjusted it along her face before tying it behind.
Xiran went on to cover his face too before both stood up. Aselia straightened her dress and picked up her clutch so they could leave.
Xiran offered his arm and she clasped his muscular bicep, taking out the golden key Xiran unlocked the door and they both stepped out of the room.
The door of the room adjacent to them opened and another couple walked out. Xiran instantly recognized the man, he was one of the famous and successful business tycoons of Druhias.
But it was the woman who made him stop dead in his tracks. Her eyes had also fallen on Xiran and even though he wore a mask to hide his identity, his eyes were enough for the woman to recognize him.
"Xiran," she whispered as a seductive smile graced her heavy lips.
