Chapter 170: [Bonus Chapter]Shadows of the Past

Since Aselia was holding Xiran’s arm, she felt him stiffen as his eyes met the woman who had just emerged from the other room.

Appearing in her late thirties the woman was the epitome of beauty and grace from head to toe, with her expensive garb and the haughty air, the woman screamed trouble and sexiness.

"Xiran," she whispered and glided toward them leaving her partner, she had a naughty smile playing on her plump lips and Aselia didn’t appreciate the way her eyes roamed on Xiran.

Instinctively without even thinking Aselia let go of Xiran’s arm and moved in front of him, making the woman stop in her tracks. Her luscious light brown hair bounced as she flicked them back and there was mischief in her shimmering deep blue eyes.

"And you are?" Aselia inquired keeping direct eye contact with the woman not letting her get any closer to her man.

"Oh! how silly of me. I should introduce myself, I am Cybile Huwais. That’s my date for today, the renowned businessman Mr. Marqauis," she pointed to the man behind her, who smiled at them in return and said: "Hello!"

She continued: "Xiran and I are old acquaintances. Now the question young lady is, who are you?"

She threw a seductive glance at Xiran who had his lips stretched in a thin line and his orbs had taken a darker tint of grey.

"His girlfriend," Aselia kept the answer short but didn’t stop glaring at Cybile. 𝒻𝑟𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝑛𝘰𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝘤𝘰𝘮

"Really?" She asked in a surprised tone, directed more at Xiran who was still tongue-tied.

"Yes, nice to see you Cybile and Marqauis, but we have to leave, we are in a hurry," Xiran finally stepped out of his stupor and answered trying to keep his composure.

"What’s the hurry? I would like to have some fun with you and your girlfriend," Cybile stepped forward and tried to take Aselia’s hand but Xiran contemplating her move yanked Aselia back to his side before she could touch her.

"Ahhh, still so possessive. How come you are with a girl who has no scent? I wonder what’s so special about her," Cybile stepped forward her eyes lingering on Aselia who glared back at her.

"I can show you what’s so special about me," Aselia tried to escape Xiran’s grip and head toward the woman with her fists clenched but Xiran’s strong grasp held her back.

"So fierce, she is like a tigress," Cybile chuckled at Aselia’s reaction and took another step towards the seething couple.

"That’s close enough Cybile, like I said we are in a hurry, it will be better if you don’t stir any trouble. This time I won’t hold back," Xiran’s voice was so low but threatening, his tempestuous orbs were fixated on the woman with brown hair.

"But I like stirring trouble and you used to love the troubles I caused, what happened to that juvenile virgin Xiran, seems like he grew up into an old grumpy man with bad taste," her eyes flickered to Aselia with the last sentence.

"The only grumpy old hag I can see here is you, seems like someone was cast aside, and can’t digest that fact, jealousy is a bad thing that makes people see things that don’t even exist and you are simpering with it, too bad for you, he is mine now."

Aselia’s words set Cybile on fire and she snarled at her, showing her annoyance, and tried to grab Aselia but Xiran shifted her behind his back and blocked Cybile’s attack with his body.

Her nails grazed Xiran’s neck, peeling the skin and blood began to ooze out of the wound.

Cybile was transfixed for a second. Xiran felt a jolt of her power course through his veins but he was able to fight it back, fight her ability which made people do her bidding. In the past year, Xiran had grown extremely strong even though he didn’t know that himself.

Xiran had enough of her, getting hold of her face he inched her closer, making her eyes pop out in astonishment for she had been unable to put Xiran under her spell.

Marquais had an annoyed look on his face seeing the events fold in front of him. He swiftly moved forward to intervene but Aselia sensed his intentions and shifted from Xiran’s other side, she punched the man in his temple.

"Uhhh," a slight sound escaped his lips, and the mere human who was also under Cybile’s mind control heaped on the ground like a pile of clothes.

"What do you think you are doing?" Cybile questioned Xiran in astonishment as he grabbed her hands and held her in place.

"What I should have done a long time ago," Xiran answered while Cybile screamed and tried to get herself untangled from his hold, but there was no escaping him. "You shouldn’t have targeted my girlfriend, I told you we were leaving but you brought this on yourself."

Shock and surprise passed on Cybile’s face as she turned her head to see Aselia standing on her right side, her blazing eyes fixated on her and she wondered what was so special about this girl that Xiran had forgotten the years they had spent together.

Without warning, Aselia punched the woman with full force while holding her clutch. The impact of the metallic clutch broke her perfect nose and blood flowed out making her shriek and her eyes go wild in shock.

"That’s for tainting my boyfriend with your filth, you bit*h," Aselia snickered at her and wanted to claw her face and pull her hair, the raw rage she felt for this woman was consuming her. Aselia wanted to gouge her eyes out as she tried to attack her again Xiran breathed out:

"Aselia!!! no," a strong pair of hands grabbed Aselia and shuffled her a few steps back from Cybile and Xiran. Aselia turned around to find a bewildered Rivan holding her by her shoulders.

"Take Aselia inside," Xiran instructed Rivan tossing him the key. He had just appeared in the corridor and assessed the situation.
