Elven Encounter With A Blood Seeker
Chapter 222: [Bonus - ]The Lonely Figure
The shadows of the evening were elongating into the night as a lonely figure stood above a tall building and stared at the city below which had been blanketed in white due to fresh snow. The wind was freezing and yet it didn’t bother him.
The snow was as white as his wings which flapped behind him as if he was ready to take flight and yet he stood there with a solemn face, sad and lonely. He had sent her away and yet his heart was a constant mess, his life seemed blank without her, and the colours she brought to paint the canvas of his existence seemed to be dimming away, leaving him in that black and white.
It had been 24 hours since she sent that text, informing him of Yurian’s illness and now her phone was constantly switched off. She didn’t even tell him what had happened to Yurian. This worried him, could it be that he got injured during a mission? No matter what he said, she wouldn’t listen to him, she wouldn’t even respond to him or tell him any details.
He didn’t understand his obsession with her, it wasn’t normal, he had never obsessed with someone like this, never wanted someone so deeply. There had to be a more profound connection between them. Something was amiss, something he didn’t yet understand.
His phone rang, breaking his transfixed state. He took out his phone and gritted his teeth in annoyance, for once he thought of flinging the phone through the air and disappearing but he knew there was no escape so he answered the call:
"Father!!!"
"So have you met your sister, became attached to her yet," his father answered in that bone-chilling voice of his.
"Yes, didn’t know you were still on the r*pe fest. How many more surprise siblings am I going to find?" Xiran added rather dryly. His anger was spiking just hearing his voice.
"Who knows. Anyways, the reason I called was to ask about a Wendigo I sent to keep an eye on Irlana. I haven’t heard from him for over a week. Where is he Xiran? I want him back," the serious tone his father’s voice had taken ensured Xiran he was furious.
"I don’t know what you are talking about. He is your Wendigo, you are responsible for him. How do I know where he is," Xiran answered with a steady voice. His father could never know he has killed his henchman.
"I see. Your sister needs to return to me soon, I will be calling again. Make sure she is prepared to leave. For the tasks she needs to do Irlana can’t have any attachments or she will suffer and you will be responsible," he replied in that cold distant voice of his that had no emotions.
"I didn’t think you could fall any lower. Sending your daughter to be r*ped, that’s a new low for you. How could you? You have no shame at all. I am not sending her to you. I am keeping her here," he yelled at his father with so much hate that his face heated up and his fist clenched. Any more pressure on the phone and it might have broken too.
"Ah! How much hate you harbour for me. Don’t forget you can’t keep her, I have her mother. One phone call from me and she will come running back. Let her enjoy a few more days of her freedom and your brotherly love. Then it will be back to me. You are my children and all of you will always come back to me."
Phantom’s voice was calm and yet so threatening, Xiran couldn’t help but clench his jaw. Hate for his father coursed through him like molten lava, burning him with rage.
"I will never come back to a monster like you, let her mother go, set her free. What do you need for it? Name it."
"Really? My son is negotiating with me. I don’t think you can give me what I want because you don’t have what it takes. Besides, you have turned even softer for I know you have someone you want to keep safe from me. Your actions are speaking louder than your words, I hope you are strong enough to protect her from me, because if I find her then..."
A cold shiver went across Xiran’s body and he wanted to yell at this threat, he knew his father was only testing him. This had hammered at his heart, but his father could never know of her existence. So he answered keeping his voice steady:
"I have no one important to me, you always ensure that. I know what you will do. No need to make threats."
"We will see, I hope you are as smart as you claim to be. I will be seeing you..." his father cut the call after these words and Xiran let out a loud groan of frustration.
He needed to clear his head, the thought of sending his sister back to his clutches was driving him crazy. He knew their father had done this on purpose, letting him know of her existence and then he will take her away, leaving him in constant torture.
Flapping his wings he flew into the air, up as much as he could go. His silver hair flowed behind him. The wind rushed past him in torrents. Maybe the cold will numb his senses and he won’t have to feel anything. Nothing helped him, nothing brought him the solace he needed.
After flying for a while he calmed himself enough to land back and decided to return to Rivan’s place. The silver-haired vampire wanted to spend as much time as possible with his sister and he couldn’t be alone right now, he would lose his mind.
He called Rivan informing him he will be dropping by very late today so not to wait for him. Folding his wings, he jumped down from the building and landed safely on the snow-covered ground. Taking out a mask from his pocket he covered his face and stepped out into the streets and blended with the people of his city.
