Elven Encounter With A Blood Seeker
Chapter 254: What Happened?
Aselia’s POV
My eyes fluttered open and I stretched my body before yawning. A surging headache was felt as I tried to recall what time and day it was. Along with a prickly feeling in my heart.

I couldn’t remember, there were holes in my memory and arduous pain in my stomach. I turned to my bedside table to grab hold of my phone but it was missing.
’Where the hell is my phone?’ I yelled out in frustration. I looked under my pillow, then at my bed but my phone was missing. I sighed and thought it must be Yuri, playing tricks with me.
Getting up I climbed out of bed and made my way to the bathroom to freshen up. As I was about to wash my face my eyes fell on my hair in the bathroom mirror and I almost cried out. My hands went to my hair and I pulled them to see if they were real or if I was wearing a wig for a mission and real ones were hiding under somewhere.
’Nooo, what the hell? Who cut my hair? It better not be a prank by Yurian. I will kill that idiot,’ my monologue continued but then I observed the front strands had been dyed silver.
It must have been for a mission but why can’t I remember sh*t,’ this was getting annoying and I needed answers. I hurriedly washed my face and stepped outside.
Yanking the door open I wanted to yell for Yuri but he was already standing there with a smile on his face.
"Yurian! Get your as* inside," I reprimanded him and he quickly obeyed. Once inside he stepped closed and hugged me tightly before whispering:
"Partner! I am so glad you are awake. We have been so worried about you."
There was this heaviness to his words as if something tragic had transpired.
"What happened to me? What happened to my hair? And where the hell is my phone?" I was feeling so exasperated, the headache was growing and there was this uneasiness as if I was forgetting something important.
"Come, sit here. I will tell you everything but try to stay relaxed," Yurian took my hand and guided me towards the chairs in my room. After settling down Yurian began narrating:
"We were on a mission a few weeks ago, it was a sensitive and dangerous mission involving an originally-born vampire. We were attacked on our return by his vampires and our vehicle was toppled and caught fire. You received a head injury and some of your hair got burnt by the time I pulled you out. You were unconscious as I called for help and we shifted you here. The injury resulted in memory loss, your memories of the past year were affected we think and maybe some other memories as well. Because when you gained consciousness, you couldn’t remember much so the doctor put you under so your brain could rewire, hoping you will be able to remember. We also had to cut your hair because of the burn you experienced. So what is it that you remember last? Seems like you remember me fine."
Memory loss? Accident? My heart skipped a beat listening to his words and although there were inconsistencies in his story I decided to believe him for now.
"I missed a whole year? It means I turned 26 and I don’t even remember that. The last thing I remember is having breakfast with you in the cafeteria before we had to leave for a mission in Tremais about those rogues terrorizing a neighbourhood in Kohala City."
"Ohh! Yes, that was a year ago partner, I am sorry," his eyes held this sadness which mingled with concern and I wondered if there was something more that he was trying to hide from me.
"Damn! What did I miss Yurian? What happened during the whole year? Is there something important that I can’t remember?" I felt like there was something on the tip of my tongue but I couldn’t remember it no matter how I tried to stress my brain, all I got was this increasing headache and a slight heartache. Headache made sense but why did my heart hurt?
"There are a few more important details partner but Aldridge will tell you about them. And no there wasn’t anything that significant. You need to keep your mind relaxed and not stress it too much. Come I will take you to Dr Sumeria, she will have a thorough check-up," Yurian got up with a serious look passing over his face and I did the same. He led the way to the doctor’s office.
"Yurian, did I get injured somewhere else too?" I inquired on our way.
"Yes, you broke some of your ribs too besides the head injury. They are healed now but left a mark," Yurian explained in an apprehensive tone, avoiding eye contact with me. I didn’t understand why he was avoiding eye contact with me.
"Did I have a heart injury as well?" my question startled him and I could sense his body stiffening.
"No. Why would you ask that?" he quickly asked turning to me, a surprised expression had passed on his face.
"Because it’s hurting along with my head and stomach," I nonchalantly replied but before he could answer we reached Dr Sumeria’s office and Yurian knocked. Her sweet voice asked us to come in. Opening the door we entered and she greeted us with a bright smile adorning her face.
"Hello!" We greeted her.
"Hi! Hawk! Falcon! how are you? Glad to see you are awake, can I run some tests and ask you a few questions to see the extent of your memory loss?"
She asked, pointing to the bed so I could lie down.
"Yes, I would like to get to the bottom of it. My mind is like a void right now and my head hurts too much," it was not a good feeling to have your memories gone. I couldn’t believe that a whole year worth of memories were missing from my brain, could be even more.
What had I forgotten? Nothing important I hoped.
