Elven Encounter With A Blood Seeker
Chapter 262: [Bonus - ]Do You Believe in Angels?
"You need to kill him, you understand?" the old hag told Aselia. She had a crooked nose and intelligent sea-green eyes.
"Kill who?" Aselia was perplexed and agitated, who was she talking about? Who was she?
"Do it, you are the only one who can do it," the old woman disappeared in the wisp of black smoke. Leaving her to ponder in the dark, she couldn’t see anything. Where was she? Why was it so dark? It was cold and Aselia felt herself freezing. She rubbed her hands together but it was of no use.
Suddenly, something bright descended from the sky, there was so much light that it blinded her. She squinted her eyes to see what it was, and all she could see were white majestic wings. As someone swiftly landed right in front of her. Was that an angel? Her heart thudded at the sight of this magnificent creature clad in all white with so very long flowing hair.
"Who are you?" Aselia questioned with a perplexed heart, she couldn’t see the face of the person standing in front because of the bright light that emanated from him. He didn’t answer, his wings flapped behind him, taking long strides he stepped closer and those wings moved forward and wrapped themselves around her. A warmth filled her from head to toe and she fell into his arms. The cold she experienced moments ago, evaporated.
He hugged her close to his muscular chest and before she could lift her eyes and see his face, Aselia jolted awake and sat up straight in bed.
Her heart was going berserk and sweat covered her even in the cold weather. This was the second time in the last three days she had seen the same dream. Who were these people? What did they want?
It felt like a witch and an angel were haunting her dreams now. Aselia stared down at the shirt she was wearing with wings on the front, this made her wonder if she had been having similar dreams before she lost her memories and bought this shirt.
The man seemed so familiar and yet she couldn’t remember where she had met him or what he looked like. An exasperated grunt escaped her throat and she clutched her head with her hands. What had she forgotten? How was she so comfortable with him? Why did he feel so warm?
It was almost dawn outside and today they had to visit the base and resume duties there. She dragged herself out of the bed and went to take a shower.
After getting fresh, she let Rony out, who had woken up and grabbed her sketchbook. She began to draw the angelic being she had seen in her dream. The word that came to her mind when she thought of him was ’pure’. She almost felt drawn to him.
She sat there sketching him until she heard Yurian knock on the door, asking her to come for breakfast.
The Elven girl shut the sketchbook and headed to the kitchen to help Esma out.
"Good morning my dear. Did you sleep well?" Esma inquired as soon as Aselia entered.
"Good morning, I did," she lied not wanting to spook her.
"I am making pancakes with whipped cream and fruits today. I hope you like them," Aselia’s mood lifted at the mention of food.
"I love them, especially with blueberries. Let me arrange the table," Aselia began to set the table for breakfast and soon all four of them sat down for breakfast.
"These are indeed very delicious, thank you so much for making them," Aselia relished in the food and Esma smiled seeing her heartily eat. Yurian and his father were discussing some new medicine they had launched for prolonging the life span of humans.
Mr Razian owned a pharmacy, so he was always up to date with all kinds of new drugs, medicines and serums, while Yurian filled him in on the serums hunters used.
"Good luck for today dear, I hope you people will be back for dinner?" Esma said as she and Aselia began to clear the table.
"I am not sure what the timing and new schedule will be like but we will find out today."
Yurian and Aselia bid them goodbye after breakfast. Esma held Rony in her arms as Aselia kissed him and made their way to the car. Esma and Razian both stood at the door and waved at them as if sending their kids to school. This made Aselia smile wholeheartedly.
They had filled the role of the family she had lost while she fit in like the daughter and sister which was taken away from them.
Yurian drove towards the Avarance Base of Lahoire while Aselia sat in the passenger seat.
"Your phone and sim card will arrive today, all the paperwork has been completed and from today onwards you are Leia Harbres," Yurian informed her.
"I have so many name changes and now there are gaping holes in my memories. I don’t even remember how my parents died or what I ate a week ago. I feel so lost Yuri, I feel like you people are hiding some harsh truth from me, it doesn’t feel normal. I don’t even know who I am, anymore."
She stared directly at him as she worded her apprehensions. A slight worry crawled on his face but he hid it away as quickly as it had come.
"Partner, we just want to keep you safe after what happened. Besides, hunters don’t really have an identity, we are unknown. And regarding your parents, I only know they passed away in a car accident," he tried to give her short answers, not wanting to dwell on any long conversation which will lead to Xiran.
"I don’t know Yuri, I think I have forgotten something important," she paused and turned to gaze outside the car and then slowly asked:
"Do you believe in angels?"
Yurian almost lost control of his car at her question, deep lines of worry appeared on his forehead and he couldn’t help but question:
"Why do you ask?"
"Because I keep seeing one with white wings in my dream, and I feel like I know him or have seen him before."
